Endure chuckles, "Well, I certainly hope not. The Lord's Alliance was once a dominant and largely benevolent organization which got a bit too power hungry and was harshly put down in many regions. They have reorganized over the years and are rebuilding a very damaged reputation. Sildar, as you said, is a member. They are very active in Neverwinter currently. The Zhentarim have a much darker past and hail from regions farther west; my homelands. They, rather we, are working to pull ourselves out of under a darker shadow and find it more beneficial not to tout our organization as loudly as Sildar does. Though, like him, some areas south of the sword coast would brand us criminals simply for our membership."
Ms. Thornton adds, "Sildar and the guildsmen of our Phandalin, including us, have chosen to work together given this latest set of developments. Jubilance and I are rather impressed with your actions in the short time you have been here. We would like to offer you a membership or alliance with the Zhentarim.
Separately, we would like to know if you're willing to change your hunt of this Manticore pair; slightly."
While Wolfsong is off doing business, can Robwin go to the store to retrieve some of his stash of fine paper and try to scribe a spell into his book?
If no one objects ((please let me know if you’d rather he didn’t or if you’d like the scroll instead)) he would like to attempt to scribe the augury spell, from the scroll they just found, into his spellbook…
((OOC: I think he needs to use 50gp of his supplies and 2 hours per spell level. is that how it works? Let me know if I do anything wrong. It’s the first one I’ve done!! So would that be 100gp and 4 hours for this spell?))
((and I think he needs to make an arcana check, DC12, so here goes…))
Robwin’s arcana check (DC12): 20
((Yes, 2 hrs and 50 gp per spell level and it needs to be a level you can cast. At its root, the augury spell is 2nd level. You could probably do half of it before the meeting and half after. I would put a slightly higher DC because the scroll is tweaked a bit to cast at a higher level. A 20 is more than successful.))
“I am just a hunter, I go where the hunt is,” Wolfsong remarks rubbing the back of his neck. “So I guess which ever group allows me to continue hunting without holding me back with too many rules or forcing me away from a good hunt would be the one I would join. If you seek more members I would offer the chance to the others, I am sure some of them will join either of your causes.
What is it you want me to change about my hunt? Bringing them in alive while doable is not something I would try for unless you are offering something to make is worth it.”
Ms. Thornton nods, "I understand that. It isn't an ideal answer, but I appreciate your honesty."
Endure adds, "I had an idea you would say as much. If possible, we would like an alliance with the beasts or cubs if they're available. We would not recommend trying to trap them. That would go as well as someone trying to cage you, Blaire, Halia or I. Still they are rumored to be loyal, deadly allies if it can be successfully arranged. For this, you could probably name a price. Think about it."
"Would that really work?", asks Blaire, "The one was huge."
"You took in a goblin clan, joined a goblinkin tribe, a wolf pack. and our little house. I think your cousin, a moon blessed no less, could do as much or more.", Endure says.
Robwin would seek out Wolfsong and ask him to remind him who his enchantress friend in town was.
Assuming he would tell him, or escort him over there, he would ask her if she had (or could get him) any divining tools that might help him with his new augury ritual he has been working on.
He would explain that he needs something like 25gp worth of gem-inlaid sticks or dragon bones for rolling, or ornate cards, or some other divining tools.
He would also approach Barthen, or Sarah, at Barthen’s Provisions to enquire about placing another order for more fine paper and inks. If they are able to place an order, he would like to get a further 300gp worth, as soon as possible, and (as before) he would prefer to pay in full up front.

(( Robwin’s desires are swirling. He can start work on deciphering the scroll into his book or catch up with Wolfsong and Barthen, or Sarah, he cannot do both. Separately, did you review the moon egg? Has the ability to fill in for material components of value. Regardless, Robwin will have to choose his activity before the meeting. ))
“I will put it under consideration once I encounter the beasts, but I make no promises,”Wolfsong answers with a nod. “I am not the best when it comes to handling beasts.”
Wolfsong watches the children and goblins running around, a small smile forming on his lips, then turns back towards town, “I will see you all later.”
Wolfsong leaves Endure’s heading back into town, then will hang around town until the dinner gathering.
((OOC: Ah okay, that’s fine. I wasn’t sure how much time that would all take. Robwin would just scribe the spell and do the other things another time. Thanks
And wow! The moon eggs are incredible! He’ll attune to one later too))
At the gathering, you learn of the partnerships the various representatives of the Lords' Alliance, Zhentarim, the Artisan’s Guild, the business owners and the Townmaster have worked out.
Sildar Hallwinter, Townmaster Harbin Wester, Halia Thornton, and Eli are newly heading a Constabulary and Melitta.
Elsa and Grista announce they are joining a partnership to transform the tap house into a new venture.
As the night progresses, Sildar Hallwinter, Endure and Ms. Thornton join your table for a more subdued conversation. Sildar speaking, "You're all a marvelous blessing, make no mistake. Much to Ms. Thornton's delight and my chagrin, this Glasstaff you brought down is the Larno Albrek I was looking for." Ms. Thornton does look rather smug and both Blaire and Endure nudge her. He continues, "Halia is going to rearrange some things to stay at the mansion. That lab and office you reported will be held over for you lot as will living space. We ran into a lot that need done and would appreciate your aid. For now, enjoy the gathering."
He excuses himself.
"Well, of course, he leaves us to answer any questions.", Ms. Thornton first sounds gravely put out the she and Endure burst out laughing.
"Ask what you wish.", Endure says.
"I'll get us more drink.", Blaire says getting up.
"I can think of three things," Wolfsong takes a long drink from his cup, "There is the Black Spider who seems to be the one aiding the Red Brand, next is the dragon flying around, others may need to be warned about it, then the manticore it is still a problem but one that some think to turn into an opportunity."
Wolfsong casts a glace towards Endure and Mrs. Thornton then continues, "After that who knows. Although there is still the matter of the cave Gundren was after, that could offer up a chance of growth for the village, perhaps Sildar is looking to be a part of that growth to shape is some how."
Wolfsong then turns his focus to Mrs. Thornton, "You and Sildar seem to be butting head, is that something you would care to speak of?"
"Your on track with your list Wolfsong. There's also another minor in town needs help to inspect a claim in the Mountain's toe area. An Alderleaf said something bout a friend of hers missing. Cinnaess said she's got something to look into in the woods and Sarah isn't keen on her going this one alone.
As for Sildar and I, we're getting along alright. We do business differently, but I respect his skills and he mine. I told you the Zhentarim have a reputation to crawl out from under? Few would bat an eye about this Larno being corrupt if he was with us. Broad brush strokes. It's, well not good, but satisfying, maybe to have a tangible lesson right in front of us that the Lords' Alliance isn't any more protected from bad actors."
"Speaking of business", Endure interupts and tosses a small pouch to Wolfsong, TT, Rinn and Robwin each, "A finders fee for our new militia and thank you for jumping in as you did. (5 pp; 35 gp ea)
Blaire returns with an entire round of drinks and Elsa and Sarah delivering food to the table. Sarah greets everyone and moved on. Elsa finds a spot draped over Robwin’s back.
"An we still need to catch up the Stonehill clan in the Mountain's toe area and get the caverns mine started to be sure we don't have more Bandit or rogue tribes muscling in on the claim or picking up again with the caravan raiding. An we talked about following up with those in the woods who rejected the Black Spider; remember? And honestly, I'm a bit worried 'bout Big Al. Those captives were ambushed northeast of his lands. What if someone got nasty and took his ranch again?", Blaire puts in as she drinks leaning heavily against Endure.

"Lady Endure! May we get some water!", Carp shouts as they all trot up.
She laughs. "Did your grandfather salt the lemon water again."
Carp nods making a face, "The wolves really like it. So does Glufs."
"So a glass for you and Gaatbort? Common. Then you all need to wash. You're going to the Orchard.", Endure says
"Yeah, Ma told me.", Carp says with a sigh
(( Let me know if there is anything else, otherwise, we'll move to the meal. ))
