Easy enough. It takes a bit of test sparing with many before you find a group that are as proficient in martial weapons as you are. They do exist in this motley crew and you do eventually get a tough workout.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rinn,
As unexpected as it might be you find guidance in tinker's tools from Sister Garaele. With her help you are able to fully understand its use. You also find yourself sharing a lot of your life before arriving in Phandalin with her.
"A full-blooded high elf like yourself usually lives far longer than most other races of Faerûn. You and your family have lived more in your short existence than most humans of the same years. I don't know if that matters, but you should know that. Those dreams, they're said to be memories of our many past lives. It absolutely is normal to pull skills, experience and knowledge from them.", Sister Garaele tells you kindly as she sees you off
You now have proficiency in Tinker's tools and 5 "Arrows, +1"
Rinn nods silently as he listens to Sister Garaele. "Hmm, I had never thought of that," he finally says. "Maybe I'll have to try to recall more of my dreams next time. They did seem strange. But who knows..." He gives her a broad smile and thanks her for the time and training and arrows, then heads off to meet the others before they travel off to the dwarves in Axehold.
TT would spend the better part of the morning talking, crying, and laughing with them. She would offer them her prayers and blessings for those that have died before departing and meeting back with her party
(( Wolfsong, Rinn, TT, Robwin, It's nearly noon when you're all in front of the Miner's Exchange. We established Robwin is the last to show. Do any of you other three want to speak with Ms. Thornton, Mr. Rockseeker, Don-Jon Raskinor or their lot? ))
When Robwin eventually makes it to the miners exchange, the tinkle of the little bell above the door announces his arrival, and to the party he says, “Sorry… Sorry everyone!… …Sorry, I was… I’m sorry”.
But with parts of the arcane formula for spider climb still playing on his mind, he can’t for the life of him remember why they were meeting there in the first place…
"It fine," Wolfsong nods. "We have not started yet, better to have something explained once then repeated over again."
Wolfsong turns his attention to the Miner's Exchange group, "We are aiming to head south to Axeholm and Abbat, we were hoping you could tell us all you can about the troubles you have been having there. We know of the manticore but there was mention of some troubling magic or something of that sort. Care to tell us about it?"
(( You are all at the Miner's Exchange. If you have ever been at a small community co-op, machine shop, or automotive shop, you may have experienced this atmosphere. People are working hard and are sociable. The leadership is in the office area. You may have been chatting a bit when Robwin shows up. ))
Ms. Thornton looks up from where she's been doing her work, answering questions or giving directions from time to time. She nods to Wolfsong saying, "Tammy, Get Wolfsong and his associates whatever we have."
"Right!", Tammy, who was at a table in the open back office area, pats Blaire on the arm and walks toward you four. Blaire waved briefly toward you all in greeting as did Gralk and Rockseeker. You can see they are talking with two others. Blaire and Gralk are obviously concentrating and trying hard to understand the discussion they are involved in.
Tammy is excited, as usual, "Right! Axeholm and Abbat! These are separate excavations of the same very old Dwarven community. Axeholm is more complete as far as we know. Townmaster Wester and the guild's leaders thought we might be able to make use of it as a safe haven given reports of its structure and the more frequent reports of the dragon. Stuff started happening though and there is a skeleton crew there now. Plus the manticore is in the mountains all around there now. It seems to be there and along the high road more than anywhere else. That's Axeholm. There should be six folk still there. They didn't want to keep others in harm's way, but wanted to keep trying.
Abbat is about fifteen miles south from here and fifteen miles west of Axeholm. It is in a canyon. I think Dazlyn Grayshard and Norbus Ironrune are the only ones currently at the site. We just wanted to warn them about the dragon but there's a lot going on. Orc migrations, the manticore, all that! Just warn them all, I guess. We'll definitely pay for just that. If you can do more, we'll definitely compensate you!"
Tammy's entire presentation is energetic and peppy.
"If you head out now, you can probably get to one of the sites before Dusk, but just barely!"
After listening to everything Wolfsong nods, "Abbat sounds like a quicker job, might be a good idea to go to that one first, rest, then continue to Axeholm. We can try to redirect any traveling orc bands away from the village if we come across any. Hopefully we will not need to use Axeholm but it will be good to be sure its safe incase the dragon turns its attention here."
"I have no further questions," Wolfsong answers with one final nod. "If no one else has any questions then we should gather up our gear and take to the road."
Robwin smiles at the affable and industrious atmosphere here. In a strange way it reminds him of some of the more practical research-rooms and practice-areas at the wizards’ college. Something about experts and apprentices coming together for a common goal. Work and good humour mixed in suitable measure, alongside a certain degree of respect and caution for the activities going on.
He listens carefully, and as Wolfsong turns to the party, he says, “I think maybe that’s everything we need to be going on with!”. But he too turns to the others to be sure.
TT is holding the small necklace depicting a scale held by a skeletal hand, head semi bowed. "I think warning those we can is a very high priority. Lets try to save as many as we can before anything happens."
Rinn nods, "Agreed. Plus I've never actually seen a dwarven mine before. It'd be brilliant to see one up close." He beams a broad smile of excitement as he says this.
(( As the party leaves Phandalin, are you hugging the foothills heading first to Umbrage Hill or directly south across the grasslands toward Abbot?
Each of you give me a Constitution and a Perception role.
If you get to a point in this next couple of days outside of Phandalin when you think, "Oh, PC should/would have picked that up in town." We will make a roll for it as long as you have the coin and carrying capacity.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
“I wouldn’t mind swinging past Umbridge hill, if it doesn’t take us too far out of our way”, says Robwin.
“But I’ve got no particular business there, if we’d rather head straight on our way..…”.
“It would only be to check up on the place. Oh and maybe picking up some of that delicious tea… Check Ms Gwynn hasn’t been troubled by the wildlife since we saw her last before carrying on? We don’t need to stop!…”.
"I do not think it would be too much of a problem to check in on Ms. Gwynn," Wolfsong answers. "So long as everyone else is fine with it, it is not far out of our way."

For Rinn Role a d6, a d100, and a d20.

D100: 40
D20: 4
EDIT: trying to get dice rolls showing.
