(DM Question - are the arguing gnomes near this leather-bound book?)
Rinn looks around the workshop with awe. While he has no idea what these things do, they look incredible, and he moves around the room tempted to reach out and touch things, but holding off on touching them. He finally comes to the pedestal with the book and he looks inquisitively at it (Investigation: 18).
The book on the pedestal is a spellbook that the rock gnomes of Gnomengarde share. Its cover describes its title as Magick of Gnomengarde (in Common and Gnomish).
You're not able to open the book or remove it from the pedestal.
Around the raised platform walls are bookshelves too. Most books there are in Gnomish.
After some words from Pog the three Gnomes switch to common and explain everything to you again regarding their argument of treatment for the Gnomish King.
Fibblestib and Dabbledob hand Blaire a bag of 100 gp and Eli a bag of five rubies and five emeralds worth 25 gp each "for the party" in thanks for resolving the issue with the creature and the disappearing Gnomes offhandedly. Clearly they consider it of little importance compared to their mission of aiding their kings.
They focus on Korboz and Gnerkli to the exclusion of all else, promising magical rewards in exchange for aid from the party.
"Try talking to our good king. See what you can make of things. Let us know what you dream up or if one of our inventions might be the cure to put in place.", Dabbledob offers.
Rinn nods, "Just tell us where to find him and we'll go check him out for you. He's probably just not happy with the work that his underlings are doing. My master used to go mad all the time. He'd yell at me because I wasn't doing my readings and sneaking out." Rinn chuckles as he waits for directions.
Dabbledob directs, "Pog will certainly show you to the royal chambers. You simply head up those stairs", pointing to the southeastern exit, "take the immediate right and follow it up to the northern door."
"Right!", Pog says straightening himself up, "This way then. Rinn, was it? You can just go through that door behind you. How in the hills did you scamper up there? Well; never-mind. Head straight out that door. We'll meet you in the hall."
Blaire follows Pog to the stairs and corridor as Ikki flutters easily up to the top of the ten foot high raised area to join Rinn stepping through the door.
The drone of the falls is still present but much diminished in the hall once the door is closed behind Rinn and Ikki.
In a few minutes the rest of the party come round a corner to Rinn and Ikki's left.
The corridor continues north to a large decorated heavy set of double doors inlaid with various other wood, jewels and carving,
A large knocker is set on each about three feet from the floor.
"Eh, let's just go in. Wouldn't want to keep him waiting if he's mad," Rinn moves over to the door and tries to open it.
Edit:
(OOC - so it appears that most of the other players have disappeared, other than DirtyDog & I. Do you want to recruit more, or continue as is, or call it? Because I know this campaign, I feel bad because I don't want to ruin it for others, and so don't feel I can contribute heaps in way of "let's do this or that".)
(OOC - I will reach out to the other three and see their thoughts. Templar32/Eli only went silent recently. I'm okay with continuing if you and DirtyDog want to. I am also open to recruiting.
It's a fun gateway into the Realms.
I like the characters that were brought forward but life is busy.
(OOC Note - gone_for_the_weekend / Various hasn't been active since Sept 12 when he posted he had to step away. Izraal1 / Blaire hasn't posted since Aug 7th when they updated they needed to step away and hasn't been active since Sept 3rd.
If you two want to continue, (and we'll see if Templar32/Eli comments), I will NPC the other characters out of the narrative (though I might keep Blaire - fun tempest cleric character) and bring in some new blood. )

They are not near the 10-foot-high ledge that overlooks the room, set with a wooden pedestal on which sits a leather-bound book.
(DM Question - reading through the book, is Rinn able to understand what's written inside? Ie. is it in common?)

Unable to understand Gnomish, but feeling they should get the squabbling gnomes' attentions, Ikki begins clicking his beak loudly.
After some words from Pog the three Gnomes switch to common and explain everything to you again regarding their argument of treatment for the Gnomish King.

"We have a clockwork amulet, says Fibblestib
"and a pole of collapsing, says Dabbledob
"They're yours if you will resolve this issue.", finishes Fibblestib while Dabbledob nods.
"Oooh, they look cool!" Rinn says with glowing eyes as he looks at the items. "What do you need us to do to help your king?"
"Try talking to our good king. See what you can make of things. Let us know what you dream up or if one of our inventions might be the cure to put in place.", Dabbledob offers.
"How is he mad?" Ikki asks the gnomes.
"Shall we go find out?", Blaire asks
Rinn nods, "Just tell us where to find him and we'll go check him out for you. He's probably just not happy with the work that his underlings are doing. My master used to go mad all the time. Pog begins walking towards the stairs.
Rinn chuckles and nods, "No worries!" And he makes his way off to the door, then stops to look back expectantly at the others.
Ikki follows.

Rinn raise and drop the large knocker on the ornate door. [RAP, RAP, RAP]
A voice from the other side of the door calls forth in Gnomish. ,
"Tha'd be King Korboz. He's ask'n 'Who is there?' and 'What are you doing?'", Pog says to the party in common.
Pog than shouts back in common, "My King! It'd be me, Pog! I have a team o' ventures what 'r seek'n an audience! Fibblestib and Dabbledob sent them!"
Then he looks at all of you and flicks his head toward the door.
