Robwin casts message and speaks with Cinnaess privately in Elvish “Your senses are keen. And your insight valuable. But if you want Wolfsong at his sharpest, we must converse in common...”.
As Wolfsong comes back to discuss, Robwin recounts to him what Cinnaess has said.
He also says in common, quietly, “Hmm... a mage? a pixie?... None of that sounds very good at all.... I feel like we should deal with the mage-pixie first since it knows we’re here. Wolfsong, I follow your lead in the hunt... what say you?...”.
”Any idea which way our quarry went from here though?..”.
Wolfsong thinks for a moment, turns to the area near the crevasse where he heard the voice in his head, then turns back, "The main objective for this hunt is rescuing those who have been captured lets check the room where Cinnaess heard people speaking common. If they don't have the prisoners there we can make them tell us where they are keeping them. After the prisoners are safe we slaughter every Ruffian in here." After a moment Wolfsong adds as an afterthought, "Unless they smarten up and surrender of course."
Robwin, Wolfsong, You quietly follow Cinnaess along the west wall. About twenty feet in, the cavern gives way to a stone masoned staircase going down another twenty feet. The corridor ends with a door on the left (south) and a fifteen foot corridor to your right (north). As Cinnaess said, you can hear at least three distinct voices in common making bets.
Wolfsong checks the door where he hears the people speaking common to see if its locked, if it is Wolfsong draws one of his handaxes then looks to the others making sure they are ready to move.
Robwin nods at Wolfsong, with his hands poised, palms forward, in a ready pose. His fingers hover part way between the starting-shapes for both offensive and protective spells, so that either could be cast at a moments notice...
Rinn continues to follow the group further into the caverns, arrow ready, watching both where they move to and for anyone trying to approach from behind (Perception: 17).
As Rinn follows the others, he is aware of someone hiding behind the large stone column on the west side of the crevasse probably 25 ft east by northeast from the exit of the cavern into the decending stair. They are not following nor do they notice Rinn. They are just hiding.
(DM Question - how far is Rinn from A) this hiding figure, B) Wolfsong and Robwin? Just having a little trouble picturing it in my head as to where everything is, sorry.)

Seeing everyone ready Wolfsong takes a slow deep breath then kicks open the door hoping to startle those inside while declaring, "What's the current wager!?" If the people inside are obviously part of the ruffians or not part of the town Wolfsong will hurl his handaxe at one of them.

Rinn is at the precipice between the cavern and the stone stairway. The hiding figure is 25 ft east by northeast from you. The party went down 25 ft of stairs, directly west of you and turnd right (north). They are 35 ft from Rinn; currently out of site.
Seeing everyone ready Wolfsong takes a slow deep breath then kicks open the door hoping to startle those inside while declaring, "What's the current wager!?" If the people inside are obviously part of the ruffians or not part of the town Wolfsong will hurl his handaxe at one of them.

You catch a quick view of the entire group of four men, one bugbear, and a figure laying limply in the corner. They are all clearly surprised and Redbrand. While three of the men and the bugbear aren't armored, they are all armed.
Your ax strikes true, catching one man in the right chest below his shoulder.
Several worn tables and chairs are scattered around this large room. Wooden benches are drawn up against walls decorated with draperies of brown and red, and several ale kegs are propped up and tapped.
The table the group is gathered around is stacked with coins and trinkets in a heap.

Robwin approaches the doorway and notices the figure lying limply in the corner. Can he see roughly if it looks like a human? Or a red brand? Or more like someone from town?
Being careful not to hit the limp figure, he throws a quick bolt of fire at the one with Wolfsong’s axe in its chest, before ducking back into the corridor a little...
((edit:... Lia stays out of this one for now, behind everyone, in the corridor, out of view. Maybe she just keeps a lookout behind, and takes the dodge action.))
