A little after introductions are made, diner is set out in large shared platters, everyone is seated, and the platters are passed around. Once everyone has a plate of food in front of them and a refilled drink, a horn is blown. A hobgoblin honor guard marches in followed by a goblin color guard followed by a mix of females hobgoblin, bugbear, and goblin including Gralk. Once the entourage is settled around the thrown, King Grol, a tall bulky bugbear enters, during his procession to the thrown he does briefly greet many including Rinn, Blair, a Daraktan female, and a few others.
At his thrown he says in Ghukliak, "Welcome! Eat! We talk during meal! Drink!" which is repeated by Gralk in the common tounge.
Gralk is a tall slender female goblin. She and the hobgoblin female in King Grol's entourage are clearly heavy with child.
At her finish a toast is barked out, everyone takes a drink and is seated when the king sits.
During the meal each guest has a moment to speak, to entreat the king. There is news of hostilities between the Daraktan and a human hunting lodge and a tenuous treaty between the Daraktan and the Centaur. There is news of an Ankheg nest along the northeast riverbank spawning causing more issues. There is news of reparations being made between the butterskull ranch and the Daraktan. There is news of a working relationship between a clan of Arachne, half-humanoid spider hybrids, and the Fresh Spring Clan Cavern folk. The Stonehill clan of the Giant toe mountains are having trouble with another clan who appear to be in league with this black spider entity. Their are Daraktan from the Icespire Peaks area who are currently camping with ogers in Wyvern Tor who are doing small raids and mercenary work. Finally, the royal attention reaches you all.
(( What have you to share? What would you request? ))
Silenus loses track of much of what’s going on with the people talking to the king.
“Who, dude. Being a king is totally a lot of talk, talk, talk. That’s cool but no way is it fun.” Silenus says to Rinn.
Silenus happily takes in as much food and drink is offered and flirts with any and all who come close to him. So it takes him a few moments to realize the king is looking at him and Rinn and their new companions.
He gets up and bows or pounds his chest or whatever he might have noticed the others doing.
”Hey, how’s going, King? We totally ran into this gnarly ankhegs and even killed a bunch, dead. But I think they like the camp by the river since they really didn’t follow us when we left. Maybe they just, like, don’t like dudes cutting down trees. I can respect that. But hey, you were talking about this way bad black spider dude, right? Do you know about this wave cave or whatever it’s called? Spider is looking for that so we want to find it first.”
Rinn gives a showy, but curt, bow as it comes to their turn with the king. "Pleasure to see you again, your kingship. Sounds like there is plenty of stuff going on. I hope that in some part we might relieve some of these burdens. As my comrade says, we dealt with several of those ankheg along the river."
King Grol nods and responds. In common, Gralk says, "Kinsman Rinn, the reduction of the ankheg threat and warning of their location is of great service. Deal with Wave Echo Cave this Black Spider. It is the greater problem."
"Whoa, dude, we should come here to eat more often," Silenus says, putting the coins in his pouch. "Food, wine and gold."
He looks around for Blair. While he does, he asks Rinn "So who's this Gundren, dude? The one with the map for the wavey echo cave. If we can get a map to the cave we probably don't need to find a Rockseeker."
Silenus ponders this for a moment before adding. "Oh, maybe Gundren has a map of the inside of the cave but not how to get there."
"Maybe," Rinn responds to Silenus as he thinks, "But perhaps..."
He waits for a moment to catch the king between conversations, "Your grace," he bows, "You mentioned this Wave Echo Cave before. It is something my comrades and I have heard of and search for ourselves. We have heard of those with maps to this cave, but sadly the locations have illuded us so far. Perhaps you, or one of your kin, might offer directions or guidance to this cave? I fear that this Black Spider has caused much disruption in the area. Not just for you and your clan, but many of the people living in the region. As you say, the greater problem dealt with quickly, becomes easier to deal with than one left to fester."
Gralk and King Grol discuss a bit in Ghukliak, then Gralk says in common, "The dwarf, Gundren Rockseeker, has his map in Phandalin. He has a small group who are planning to make their way to this Wave Echo Cave. They could use the extra manpower. There are a few obstacles, but Gundren believes he must reach his brothers soon.
Rinn thanks the king and says quietly to Silenus as they walk away, "Damn. I had hoped to cut out a whole lot of backtracking and travel." He shrugs, "Ah well, can't be helped. I say we rest the night and take off in the morning."
Silenus watches the tiefling carefully, getting caught up in the colourful eyes.
”Totally sweet eyes,” Silenus says.
He hops up, leaping a little higher into the air than he had meant to but enjoying the ride anyway. He gives an overly exaggerated bow when he lands.
”I’m Silenus. Traveler and adventurer.”

"Gundren has a map of Wave Echo Cave.", Blaire throws in, "He's the dwarf was here last time Rinn and I were, my king."
Rinn gives a showy, but curt, bow as it comes to their turn with the king. "Pleasure to see you again, your kingship. Sounds like there is plenty of stuff going on. Before you leave you are awarded 25 gp each.

Blaire and Endure are around and easily accessible.
After the meal, they are engaged in discussions with the daraktan, a few of the hobgoblin, and Gralk, the goblin concubine.
King Grol is involved in a discussion with Lhupo, the goblin cackling about her hive of "pet" grick when you first mentioned the ankheg.
Olsihla and Jasmine stay together casually mingling and cautiously eavesdropping wherever they could understand the conversation.
"Maybe," Rinn responds to Silenus as he thinks, "But perhaps..."

Silenus laughs to himself when he realizes Gundren is a Rockseeker and the same Rockseeker they were headed to Phandalin to see in the first place.
"Totally awesome," Silenus says. "It's like fate, dude. So we spend the night here and head to Phandalin tomorrow?"
Rinn thanks the king and says quietly to Silenus as they walk away, "Damn. I had hoped to cut out a whole lot of backtracking and travel." He shrugs, "Ah well, can't be helped. I say we rest the night and take off in the morning."
((Think we're looking at a long rest then heading back to Phandalin))
After a long rest, Silenus, Rinn, Olsihla, and Jasmine continue their journey south from King Grol's court toward Phandalin.
Rinn saddled up on his horse, Silenus comfortably trotting beside, Olsihla and Jasmine driving the mule and cart.
