(( The party has only heard the Redbrands mentioned in Phandalin in a few passing conversations and by Barthen. A local gang of roundabouts, it seems. ))
Blaire laughs again at Sildar's words and says quietly to Wolfsong in Illuskan, "And doesn't that beat all. A Waterdeep city man deemed a good judge of character. Though he be northlander by site and blood for certain."
The irony seems to have continued to lift her mood.
Robwin quietly teaches Gralk ‘ruffian’, “It’s like a ‘bully’. You know that one??... Hmm... Someone who tries to take your things, ‘a ruffian’“. He smiles at that. And can’t help stifling a laugh too, when Gralk laughs at ‘northlanders’.
A smile still on his lips from his interactions with Gralk, Robwin moves quietly over to Eli, noticing his mannerisms. He approaches him as kindly as he can ((straight charisma check (-1): 6 ))...
“It’s nice to be back to civilisation, no?”, he says to the Paladin. “We all deserve some rest I’d say. Does your Oath permit you to let your hair down? Even if it’s just til the morning?”.
Eli looks at you for a bit, Robwin, before he says, "I think a strong drink and a long rest in a room will do me a lot of good."
He slightly grins, "As a Paladin of Helm my chosen oath has four basic tenants, Honesty, Compassion, Honor, Duty, ", he counts them off on his gauntlet fingers, "none of them prevent a bit of relaxation in moderation. I believe in Helm's guidance. I am finding the majority of our present com; concerns an unexpected challenge."
As Linene, Sildar and TT are engaged in conversation, Elmar goes back into his shop and comes out again.
He tosses a small pouch to each Eli, Robwin, Ikki, TT, Rinn, Blaire and Wolfsong, "That's the earnings from the townmaster, myself and the portion Big Al said to divide to you from the supply he sent. Minus a tab of two silver a day for covering your cart and mules. Y'al had four days covered by the writ from Ms. Thornton, I threw in four days and I kept back a tenday. (( Each pouch contains 42 gp, 5 sp, 4 cp ))
Robwin smiles back at Eli, “Wizards learn very early on that magic is not honesty...”, he produces a playing card out of thin air using prestidigitation. He holds it up between them and turns it over and over, “...But it is the truth...”. The card evaporates before their eyes. “Maybe that’s close enough”.
He looks out around the town, and at its people, “Compassion?... Honour?... They’re not essential ingredients, but not ones that are discarded lightly”.
”Duty? I know something of duty...”. He subconsciously itches his chest over his heart (where Eli may have noticed a spider’s web of cross-crossing scars the day they first met, when his clothes were drying from the dragon attack). He becomes introspective and distracted for a time, looking at the ground.
(( With Barthen’s comment, you realize that nine nights have passed since the dragon attack on Umbrage Hill. You briefly passed through Phandalin that first day. Also, TT has a writ for the party for four nights at the Stonehill Inn that has been unused. ))
Blaire calls out, "Master Barthen, I don't suppose there would be a decent kennel here or the Inn?"
Barthen looks at her for a few moments before he replies, "I would wager Alderleaf would set you up for a reasonable price. Quelline is the sort. Daran Edermath on the other hand is likely to assume you're a raiding party if you eent near his farm." (He laughs at the imagery he called up in his own mind.)
Eli watches Robwin a bit, "I know it's rude, but how old are you? You seem a sight older than Rinn acts, but can't be much older than I comparatively."
He looks into the pouch tossed to him, "Well, tell you what, let's swap some stories over a drink or two. Honestly, feels more like home with you and Rinn around."
"Plus I need a real bath. Was clean water in that cave, but cold as winter's kiss and not a place I would put my guard down. Though some didn't seem to be of the same mind." He then stops talking and starts turning bright read down his chest up his ears and suddenly coughs a bit, "Um, sorry... yeah, a drink and a bath."
Robwin looks up at Eli, “huh?... ...oh... They say I’ve lived many lives before this one.... I barely remember them now.. so I can’t say if that’s honesty, or truth,...”, he sighs with a smile at the half-elf, ”I’ve walked with the name Robwin for almost a century now, just shy.... What? Wizards don’t age well.... You ever seen a jolly old wizard?”. He looks seriously at Eli for as long as he can hold it, then breaks into a laugh...
”I think we’ve earned that drink anyway! And I wouldn’t say no to a bath either.” Robwin pats Eli on the shoulder, and looks round to catch the end of the discussions with the townsfolk.
Rinn takes the coin pouch with a smile and a nod of thanks. He slowly counts out the coin, adding it into his own coin pouch as he does. "Hmm, maybe I should go buy some supplies? Who knows what else we might come up against?"
"Then we should live up to the praise," Wolfsong replies to Blaire, he then thanks Elmar for the coin then asks, "Has there been any new sightings of the dragon or even a manticore in the time we have been away?"
"Heard reports of a manticore sited at Axeholm some three days ago.", Barthen answers. "We heard that dragon roar coming from the northeast of hear late last night, but no reported sightings since your encounter."
Linene Graywind replies, "It's been more than a tenday. I knew bandits raided the Lionshield caravans; only explanation. I didn’t know who was responsible. The company has a reward for the return and information. Seems you brought both. Let's get this all sorted at the shop and I'll pay you. Yeah?"
"Barthen, I will see Thistle brings back your Oxen."
"No worries, Graywind, I appreciate it."
"Don’t mind me riding whip alongside this fellow do you?", she asks TT
(( If TT assets, she hops up beside Sildar on the driver's plank and directs TT to the loading side of the local Lionshield. Thistle hops on the back of the wagon as good a distance between him, Ikki and the bound Farx as he can manage. ))
Before the party leaves Barthen’s Provisions, Elmar calls Rinn's attention and tosses him two silver pieces "for helping Anders; you're a good fellow; watch yourself, seems you're getting into some thick business"

Robwin, You see Eli has removed his helmet. He seems to still be brooding. Huffing at a few statements, quietly leering or rolling his eyes at others.
Separately, Gralk is quietly asking various questions, "What is a Redbrand? Is it a clan? What is a ruffian?"
"I know family, clan, soldier, rider", she trails off.
Listening again.
When Sildar vouches for "the goblins" she smiles broadly.
When he tosses in "the native northlanders", she slaps her hands over her mouth trying to stifle her giggles.
