"No complaints from me master Dwarf..." Erik said, nodding. He hadn't had anyone to watch his back for a very long time, and the thought of having company that could possibly help him was definitely appealing. He still didn't know how much he could trust these men...but he had to start somewhere.
"I will take the first watch and keep the fire stoked. We should be able to keep it going all night and keep us warm."
"I'll take the second watch, I have a keen eye for the troublesome creatures around here."
It's been some time since Snappy had to take care of others and he was looking forward to making a contribution. He softly played Sonja, nothing too loud. there was still some discussions to be had, he was sure. He didn't want to be a bother but he did want to have a melody playing for when it was time to get the songs started.

"...Debts must always be paid, sometimes in more than blood and gold. But this is Ordo Ursa," Ren places his hand on Erakas's chest, right where the Dragonborn's heart is. "Right here. And it always has been and always will be. Don't ever forget that. Because I won't."

Erik leaped up, wide awake with the tone in the Elf's voice. He looked around, adrenaline coursing through his veins. He reached for his staff and did his best to summon the words he would need to cast his spells and bring down fire upon whatever was attacking them.
Snappy wakes up with a start and grabs Sonja, he starts playing her as he stands. Fast and furious, her strings erupt in a volley of violent notes.
"La-da-dee, la-da-doo, la-da, la-da, la-da..." Snappy sings with Sonja's fury.

As the turtle approaches, Merrick searches for his bow. Unable to find it, Merrick curses colorfully. "Where is the god damned thing?", as he searches his pack frantically for his bow. "Did someone mistake it for kindling and burn it in the fire?"
Snappy plays Sonja loudly and looks over at Erik. Yes, he will do, he thinks to himself.
"You don't know how it feels, no, you don't know how it feels...to be him!" Snappy sings towards Erik, filling him with Bardic Inspiration.
He then goes into a fully defensive posture. (Dodge)

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Erik quickly sized up the turtle as it charged forward and watched as attacks bounced off it's hard shell. He considered his options and made a snap decision, deciding not use his staff to strike at melee range. He was still a bit too close to the creature then he cared, but he leveled his staff at the creature and focused his energy through it, weaving is a pattern as he muttered words of power. A lance of invisible force lashed out towards the soft parts of the turtle, causing the air to shimmer as if heat waves were passing through it. As he focused on the spell he felt magic intertwine with his own, enhancing his focus, and he heard Snap playing in the background. He smiled and sent all of the energy into his spell.
Synovar startled as the massive beast shuffled its bulk forward. The creature moved quickly despite its girth and the elf was unused to the shuffling movement of sea creatures.
He took aim once more, after drawing another arrow from his quiver. His last shot had ricocheted off the creatures shell, so he lowered his eye. The arrow flew toward the turtle with a twang but just as quickly buried it self in the wet sand. A curse mumbled under the cleric's breath.

During Synovar's watch, an enormous turtle lumbers up, seemingly looking for prey. Erik and Merrick are sound asleep.

Erik's eyes opened with a start and he sat up, looking around. "What's going on...?" He asked as he looked around.
Spinning upward from his meditative trance, Synovar reaches for his longbow and an arrow.
"Arise! Arise a beast approaches!"
He shouts to his new companions even as he takes a few steps back, trying to put the fire between him and the oncoming snapper.

Synovar continues backing away from the large turtle. He draws back an arrow and lets fly. The missile careens harmlessly off the beasts thick shell.

The giant snapping turtle charges forward 60 feet.
Nortle the Tortle charges the turtle and swings at it with his quarterstaff, but the staff bounces harmlessly off the turtle's shell.
