Thank you, Dawnbringer, Aimon thinks to the sword. Promise you won't be cooped up in the chest anymore. Now, good chance at some point we may have to use you against demons and we'll all be killed. But will be nice to go out with a blaze of light around us at least.
Aimon then looks at the other items knowing that he has about as much luck at determining what they are as the giant mushrooms at the end of the beach do. Instead, he helps Topsy and Stool put the coins back in the chest.
"Hey, at least we know how much is in there. Should buy us a good night out once we get to a town," he pauses. "You have those down here, right?"

After breaking down the camp, the party climbs atop the raft. Eldeth pushes out a few feet into the water before hopping in. ((You guys can decide what the raft looks like because you built it.)) Jimjar stands out on front and keeps a lookout for anything. Topsy does the same for the back.
Rafting across the Darklake is an interesting experience. Down here, the only sounds you hear are that of the page dipping into the water and the sound of water dripping from the ceiling. The air feels dead down here. Occasionally, a natural pillar of natural stone rises from the water. For the most part, the ceiling is very high, but in other places you have to duck to get through.

Aimon listens to Trill curse, again curious about the kenku's past. Just as he's about to ask her a question about it, the raft jolts to a halt on what looks to be a sandbar.
Sure hope that's all it is, he thinks to himself, suddenly imagining also sorts of gigantic multi-eyed monstrosities that could call this water home.

((OOC: did Oak manage to collect any splints, and wash his bandage material, for his makeshift healers kit, back on the beach? I guess he’ll still need some ‘salve’ from somewhere. Thanks))
After his ride in the chest, Oak is not enjoying the ride on the raft at all. He’s definitely a creature of the land, and something about the bobbing motion just doesn’t agree with him. And having more than one stomach just makes it worse!
All of a sudden though, the raft stops moving. He’s initially relieved they’ve stopped, but very quickly he realises they’re still on the water and something’s up. He looks round to see what’s going on...

Caelynn sits in the center of the raft, quietly meditating, eyes closed but listening to her surroundings. She's still processing the events of the last 48 hours, from her dreams about the fey to Brysis' tomb. Upon feeling the raft suddenly stop, she quickly stands and unslings her bow. Peering over the side, she tries to determine if they've truly just hit a shallow spot or if there's some creature lurking in the depths preventing them from moving.

Stealth: 11
Caelynn, as most of the party hops out into the shallow water to push the raft off of the sand, you glimpse a flicker of movement in the deep water nearby. Before you can about a warning to the group, a huge serpent made of water bursts from the depth and looks over the water. Its long body extends nearly 20 feet from the water, and a dark code stretches along the length of its body where it's spine would be. It opens its mouth and reveals fangs made of solid water as it prepares to lunge. Since Caelynn rolled high enough, it doesn't get a surprise round. Roll initiative.

(Also, just remembered this now, but if nobody else wanted them, Caelynn would have taken the dagger and owl carving. If the string on the carving was long enough, she would have put it around her neck. Arcana: 17)
The dagger is a +1 Dagger and the owl trinket act as Goggles of Night Vision. Reminder, Oak doesn't have darkvision, but you can keep it if you want. You have a feeling that the dagger once held a much more powerful enchantment, but time has weakened the magic suffusing it. It glows ever so faintly when it becomes cold.
(Caelynn would have taken the items before they got on the raft. Once she figured out what they did, which I assume wouldn't take the full six hours they've been on the water, she would have offered the owl necklace to Oak.)
"Hey Oak, do you want to wear this?" Caelynn holds out the small carved figurine to him. "It helps you to see in the dark. You're not able to do that on your own, right?"
“What? Really?! That’s incredible!...” says Oak says to Caelynn, looking over the seemingly mundane pendant, “ Yes.. yes, I’d love that!” He puts it on. “Oh wow... this changes everything!! Thank you!”. He looks around with his new night vision like a kid on Winter Festival Day.
((And he therefore won’t light a torch at the start of combat))

The Water Weird goes first.
The sandbar you are on stretches back for about 40 feet and is nearly 20 feet wide. 1 foot of murky water covers the sand. You aren't sure how deep the deep part is. Looking around, you can faintly see other sandbars lurking just underneath the water in your area. The sand is dark and gritty.
The watery serpent dives forward and attempts to strike Topsy.

Aimon draws out Dawnbringer and leaps forward. Gripping the sword with two hands, he slashes hard across the trunk of the creature.
He then jumps backing, putting as much distance between him and the weird as possible.
