Several hours after the excitement of the morning meal, another meal is delivered by the same drow. Instead of a meager broth to eat, you instead receive a hard, gray lump that vaguely resembles bread. After giving you time to attempt to eat it without breaking your teeth, a congregation of drow and quaggoth assemble at the gate of your cell. Among the group are Ilvara, Jorlan, and Shoor accompanied by 3 elite drow warriors and 4 quaggoth in the background. One of the guards fumbles with the lock for a moment before opening it. The group then filters into your cell. Ilvara is dressed in long, black flowing robes adorned with the symbol of Lolth emblazoned across the front. Her long, white hair is pulled into a tight ponytail that gathera on the top of her head and falls past her waist. In one hand, she is holding a large spider while she caresses it with her other, similar to the way some will pet a cat. Hanging from her belt is her scourge that she enjoys employing at every possible chance. Her red eyes pass over each of you, taking a long, hard look at each of you. Her mouth curves up in a malicious smile as she sees the state of Caelynn and Topsy.
Close behind her stands Shoor. Slightly shorter than Ilvara, his hair is short and spiked. Instead of wearing chaimail like the other guards, he instead has studded leather armor that is stained the color of blood. His cloak appears to shimmer when the dull, purple light of flickering runes hits it at just the right angle. A slender stick that looks like it is coated with webs is in a holster on his belt.
Behind him and to the other side of Ilvara is Joorlan. Easily the tallest of the group, his hair is pulled into a tight braid that reaches halfway down his back. One side of his face is covered in angry red, glistening scars. He wears chaimail like the others, but has a greatsword of black iron strapped across his back. The drow behind him have similar apparel, but have smaller, lighter weapons. Helmets obscure their features.
As Ilvara steps forward, the rest of them can out behind her to cut off the exit. She began slowly walking towards you all with Shoor in tow. "Stand up!" she commands in her crisp, cold voice.
As you all race to comply, Topsy still is sitting. She seems to have not noticed or cared to notice what is happening. When Ilvara sees this, she calmly walks foward, pulling her scourge free of her belt as she goes. One, two, three lashes of scourge have Topsy quivering in a heap on the floor as blood begins to pool underneath her. She is alive, but badly injured. Eldeth rushes over and pulls Topsy to her feet before Ilvara could lash out more. Eldeth gives Ilvara a glare of hatred while she supports Topsy.
Ilvara's face lights up with savage glee as she sees the silent pain that Topsy is going through before she walks back to her guards. She hands one of them her scourge so the blood can be cleaned off before she turns to the rest of you. "I trust that accommodations have been... comfortable," she says, clearly enjoying the fear in the room.
As they all stand, Caelynn does her best to stay between Stool and Ilvara. Though she can no longer hear him, she suspects he's probably terrified. She barely holds herself back from running over to help Topsy, knowing it will likely do more harm than good. Instead, she levels Ilvara with a silent glare, hands balling into fists to stop them from shaking.
"Not as good as me mum's, but &#$?! lot better than me ex-wife's!", Trill says in the voice of a jovial drunk she overqheard reviewing the meat pies at a tavern.
" It appears that a torture session is in order for some sass, " she response. Her heartless gaze turns to Trill. She feigns surprise as she says, "A kenku! The last time I saw a kenku is when I ate one about almost 3 decades ago. He was delicious, albeit a little bony." She gives a small laugh loaded with malice. Some of the guards join in.
Aimon watches carefully where the guard who unlocked the cell put the key afterwards. Perhaps with a planned distraction he could attempt to lift it out.
Alkanos observed the dorw outside the cell. The anger and hatred he felt almost overwhelmed him. The speech Ilvara gave brought him to the edge and if the cell had permitted it he would have lunged at her then and there.
But it wasn't the right time. He had to show the patience he had lacked before, when his rash actions led all his men to their early deaths. In anguish he watched silently as Topsy got tortured.
He slowly walked over to her kneeling beside the hurt woman. The paladin gently touched her arm and used the ability to 'Lay on Hands' as he tried to easy her pain. (I heal Topsy for each of her missing HP max. 10 HP)
It depends on the specifics of what you're trying to do. RP what your character is doing and I'll let you know.
The drow guard who opened the gate put the key back on a key ring that has several other keys on it. It is dangling from his belt, jingling ever so slightly as he moves.
Aimon, make a perception check.
As you put your hands on her small, trembling body and call upon your divine might to restore her vitality, nothing comes to you. The essence of divinity that you tried to channel seems blocked off somehow. It occurs to you that the antimagic that permeates your cell has prevented you from healing her.
As Ilvara sees this attempt, she says with a sneer, "What's wrong, shiny one? Can't heal people with your touch?" She laughs again and says, " Your god has abandoned you. It holds no sway down here."
(The quaggoth are near the gate, pacing back and forth. The drow guards are staying near the gate. Ilvara, Shoor, and Joorlan are towards the center of the room. The prisoners, I asume, are clustered near the back of the cell. They are all in the cell with you.)
Alkanos grunted as he realised that his abilities weren't working in this prison. He felt deeply sorry for Topsy laying there suffering. "Justice will find its way. Even in here.", he whispered. He got back to his feet and glared intently towards the drow in front of the cell. He hoped the inspection or whatever this was, would end rather sooner than later. The paladin wasn't sure if he could suppress his rage any longer.
Ilvara says, "Regardless, I have today's assignments." She pulls out a scroll and unfolds it. "Aimon, Trill, and Sarith will clean the barracks and quaggoth pen. Caelynn, Jimjar, and Alkanos will clean the shrine and bridges. Stool, Topsy, and Zack will clean the greeting hall and walkways." She rolls up her scroll and asks, "Am I understood?"
(Quick update: the guy who is playing Matias says that he won't be able to anymore. It just isn't working with his schedule. I messaged the druid to see if she is still interested, but she hasn't responded yet.)
"Are we to stay in here forever? Oh Goddess of my new world of torment, what is to become of us?" Zack says in Drowish to the woman in charge. It was a question he had wanted to ask, but not in such a way. The truth was that he hated the female Drow, but it was to help distract everyone from Aimon sneaking towards the guards.
((I'm sorry to hear that about those two :c What should I roll to hold everyone's attention? ))

"Well, this is an unexpected turn of events, " she responds in Undercommon. She turns slightly and says, "Jaeazren! Did you put jittershrooms in the bread again?"
" No, Mistress Ilvara, " responds one of the guards in the back.
She turns back to you, a mixture of suspicion and curiosity in her gaze.
