Seeing Shiara succeed gave Jimmy hope (albeit a tiny little glimmer) that he might actually have a chance. So, steeling himself for another attempt, he makes a run for it:

Ingrid stretches, “Let us ascend with haste.” She claps her hands together and prepares to action star this scene.

As Ingrid shifts and leaps from platform to platform, she bats away or dodges the boiling liquid. Shouting up, “I am coming for you, foul wretch, and I will show you the purifying flames when I do!”
She finally gets to the top, unblemished. Ingrid lifts the cauldron woman off her feet by the throat, holding her over the edge.
Shiara lifts a hand and sends a bolt of dark energy into the woman. Dark energy rapidly eats through the nun's body, and it fades to nothing as Shiara looks slightly less almost dead (3 hp ftw!).
High up in rafters of the darkened ruined cathedral, you make your way across it's distance into another room by a long bridge that oversees the entire bottom you traversed. As you emerge into the dark room, you're not sure what's worse, the smell, or the terrible, lingering presence you can feel brought on only by the Affliction.
Before you is a very large, windowless room that looks like a desecrated place of unholiness. Pillars, statues, the wood flooring, everything was once sacred - but now is tainted. In the center of the candle lit room is an enormously boated head the size of five elephants put together, staring at you and breathing laboredly. To your horror, there is a normal sized body attached to the head at the neck, and both are laying on it's side awkwardly. The Charred Visage is unable to move. But it can defend itself.
The head itself is a grotesque, burned, misshapened, twisted horror, half covered in once molten gold. Half of her hair has fallen out, and parts of her head have her brain exposed due to the damaged skin. One of her huge eyes no longer function, it's use long dead due to the side of her face that was drenched in hot gold. Two magical hands pop into existence with a loud bang, the Affliction protecting her. In those hands are each held a Rosary. She will use them to defeat you, in the name of the Dark Emperor.
You now face the Charred Visage.

A young villager named Alanna had such a beautiful and pious face that even as a child, statue sculptors took her as a model for their creations. Her face became so recognizable that, little by little, people took her as the living, breathing image of divinity, until it reached a point where they ended up taking her out on procession, and even replacing their own images. Such was the fervor around her that she could not bear to be mistaken with the divinity, and burned her face with boiling oil to gift her pious beauty to God, and took up the habits of a convent.
The years passed and she started showing natural signs of ageing, just like her companions, except for the burn, which remained as fresh as the moment the boiling oil had spilled. The wound was still smoking, scorching and reeking. This was understood to be a miracle, and she was canonized in life by the Church; she became known as Our Lady of the Charred Visage. An order was founded in her name, where all the existing nuns as well as those who wanted to take up the habit had to burn their faces in the same way as Alanna had. She wears a golden mask under which she hides the gauze that alleviates the eternal pain that the burns still inflict on her.
Later, she was found by the Brotherhood and slain. The Affliction turned her into something beyond mortal comprehension. She must be slayed again.
