In this room messy with boxes and crates strewn about the room, a staircase leads up to the watchtower, and two sleeping hill giants with empty kegs of ale next to them.
Afamrail waves the others inside. Grateful that the sleeping giants were too far gone to hear him trip over the threshold on the way in, he moves into the room. He looks around the room for any other exits besides the stairs up to the watchtower.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Risha hesitantly walks towards the door trying to be as quiet as possible. She slides a finger across her throat and points to the sleeping guards in an attempt to ask the others if she should try to take one out.
Afamrail looks at the two sleeping giants and just nods at them. Things may be looking up.
Whispering, he says "What are the chances it is just the two sentries who drank too much and are now fast asleep?"
He considers Risha's gesture. He's not an executioner but these are more like wild dangerous animals who have been running amok causing terrible destruction to innocent people. Still, there may be a problem.
Still whispering, "What if we cannot execute one before he makes noise? What if the other one wakes up and we face the entire stronghold? We may be able to hold this room if we can limit their advance to one or two at a time, but three doors plus the watchtower? I fear we would be overwhelmed and would not have gotten any answers as to what is going on. I vote that we advance further inside and delay fighting as long as possible."
Killing a few giants might save a few lives, but he would be no closer to fulfilling his mission of finding out what is really going on here.
Afamrail moves to the far northwestern door and listens for any sound on the other side.
Tana quietly shuffles to the room and looks around. While he would much prefer the two sentries dead, Afamrail was logical in his points.
What would two hill giants be doing standing sentry to the entrance of a stronghold? What are they guarding?
Looking at Risha, Tana shakes his head and motions in the direction of Afamrail. In a whisper; “That may be a good option, but I am afraid stealth and secrecy are not my forte. If we were to potentially make some commotion and wake the rest of the stronghold, I would much prefer two less giants to fend off. Worst comes to worst, I may be able to convince these hill giant guards that we are on their side, but that plan folds upon conversing with a more intelligent creature.” With a shrug, he continues; “I am sure that I can handle two hill giants with some help. I would not mind if someone more adept in sneaking unnoticed can traverse the area and give us a better picture of what we are up against.”

Raine follows the others into the room, choosing to stay out of the conversation and instead keep an eye on the slumbering giants. She panics for a moment as one of them starts waking up, and her hand reaches for her mace, but thankfully it goes back to sleep. Carefully weaving between her companions, she goes to listen at the southwestern door.
(OOC - two northwestern and two in the middle of the north wall? or one northwestern, two in the middle, and one northeastern, or southwestern? In any event Afamrail still listens at the northwestern door(s))

You receive answer from your god, Nothing. (This fight could go either way, but it really isn’t weal and woe, it’s more weal or woe)
Would someone like to make a athletics check to open the door?
Afamrail takes a deep breath.
”Okay, cast your spells.”
He gestures to Tana to open the door. “If you please.”
Once the door is open wide enough, Afamrail slips inside to look around, moving as quietly as possible.
(Stealth: 10 )
Tana attempts to open the door.

One door is on Northwestern corner of the room, another on the northwestern, and two doors in the north middle.
Risha hesitantly walks towards the door trying to be as quiet as possible. She slides a finger across her throat and points to the sleeping guards in an attempt to ask the others if she should try to take one out.

While walking you walk a bit twi loud, one of the giants half opens his eye and falls back to sleep.
Afamrail looks at the two sleeping giants and just nods at them. Things may be looking up.

(OOC - two northwestern and two in the middle of the north wall? or one northwestern, two in the middle, and one northeastern, or southwestern? In any event Afamrail still listens at the northwestern door(s))
(I am not good at words, 1 northwestern 1 northeastern. Sorry for the confusion)
You hear nothing through the door.
(No worries! Raine is listening at the northeastern, then)
Iris - Tiefling Cleric | Cassandra - Elf Warlock | Solace - Tiefling Monk | Tempest - Hexblood Monk | Lex - Fire Genasi Barbarian
Lilyn - Triton Ranger | Candor - Changeling Bard | Echo - Changeling Warlock/Bard | Rowan - Fairy Wizard
Again, nothing.
OOC - you're Raine here. Caelynn in OotA :)
Afamrail looks at the two sleeping giants and at his four companions. They are more than a match for these two sots.
"Tana, if you'll open this door for me, I will scout ahead and try to see what we're up against."
Tana reaches to open the Northwestern door.
Athletics check, if necessary: 21
You see a hallway that continues for 40 feet, with a door or a turn you could make.
