Alton, you easily slip between the barrels and drive your sword deep into the giant vermin. The creature lets out a loud squeak, and blood spurts all over the east wall and barrels around you. You retract your blade from its body and the rat is still up, but bleeding very badly, and looks to be fading fast. (-6 hp)
Rats are up!
Rat #1, seeing its rat companion being cornered by Thorvin, moves in and essentially surrounds Thorvin. It tries to bite up at his upper thigh: Attack: 10 Damage: 3
... and it plants its big nose directly into the barrel.
Rat #2 follows suit and also tries to bite the dwarf. (My apologies - I forgot that the rat has a feature that gives it advantage if one of its allies are within 5 feet of the creature its attacking. So in this case that is true. 'Pack Tactics'. I didn't apply it on Rat #1 but will now): Attack: 19 Damage: 5
... this rat is able to latch onto Thorvin's thigh through a tear in the chainmail, and the long teeth penetrate quite deep. (-5 hp)
Rat #4, almost dead, tries to bite Alton in a last ditch effort up into the halflings stomach: Attack: 21 Damage: 4
... and the large teeth sink deep into Alton's midsection, likely penetrating a bunch of organs. (-4 hp)
Rat #5 also moves up and attacks the closest enemy which is Alton, using the pack tactics: Attack: 19 Damage: 5
... the teeth also sink deep into the halfling, this time letting loose a bunch of intestine onto the cold wooden floor. Alton is unconscious and bleeding out from his abdomen, and will need to roll a death save on his next turn if not healed in the meantime.
Gotur is up (round 1) and then Alton, Vendovar and Thorvin can also submit their round 2 moves which will be processed after Gotur's round 1 move.
Venovar will move in between the rats and Alton and use all 5 hp from his Lay on Hands pool on Alton as he mutters a small prayer to Helm. "Shield him from harm, Helm, I beseech of you."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Ah, crap, they killed the halfling!", Gotur shouts at the sight of blood and intestines.
He flicks his fingers while chanting, before grasping his staff and pointing it at rat 5. The end of his staff elongates rapidly, a thorny vine lashing out to attempt to snare the rat and yank it closer to him.
Attack: 7 Damage: 5

The rats still managed to spill Alton's blood and intestines onto the wooden cellar floor... although he just managed to keep himself together... (literally). So he does not go unconscious. (Alton, you took 9 damage, so you can update your sheet accordingly with removing the death save stuff. I believe, after Venovar's lay on hands coming up, you'll be at 6 total. Let me know if that is correct.)
Gotur sees Alton's guts on the outside. His staff morphs and elongates as the thorny vine lashes towards rat #5, and sails over the rats head, missing by quite a bit.
Round 2
Alton, your sword penetrates the rat once again, and this time it stays down. You may or may not be surprised in the moment by the amount of blood these suckers have inside them. (rat #4 RIP)
Venovar, you come to the aid of Alton, positioning yourself between the rat and him and allow your healing energies to course through the halflings body. (+5 hp)
Thorvin, this time your warhammer finds its mark. You actually crush the rat with one swing and it makes quite the loud crunch. Blood splatters on you. Rat #2 is squished, dead.
Rat #1 continues to try and bite at Thorvin's upper thigh: Attack: 11 Damage: 5
... the little bugger connects and drives its teeth into Thorvin's thigh, where the chainmail isn't covering. (4 damage)
Rat #5, seeing Venovar come over, tries to bite at the half-elf's leg, as high as it can get on it: Attack: 13 Damage: 6
... the rat must not have been focusing properly. The ugly teeth hit nothing but air.
Gotur (rd 2) is up!
The rest of the party can also post their round 3 moves which will be processed after Gotur's Rd2.
Gotur, seeing that he was a bit premature mourning the halfling's passing, turns to deal with the rat nearest him, moving over to sandwich it between him and the Storm Dwarf.
Attack: 11 Damage: 7

Thorvin will use his Wrath of the Storm reaction to being bit by the rat. DC13 dex save for the rat or it takes 9 damage (or half of that if it succeeds) lightning damage
if it is still up he will wack it with his warhammer attack: 9 damage: 2
Gotur, you sandwich the rat, but just can't seem to find the mark with your staff. The sucker moves out of the way at the last moment, and your staff hits the wooden floor. Quite hard.
Round 3
Alton, your shortsword slices into rat #5, almost cutting it in half. Not quite, but almost. (rat 5 dead) OOC: Regarding sneak attack damage, however you want to do it is good with me! Just let me know when you're using it of course.
Vendovar, we will assume you would've moved to attack the last rat after Alton took out your original target, and you drive your halberd down onto it, making your impaling attempts 2 for 2. You impale the last rat, and it twitches just like the other one did.
Combat is over. Thorvin, you do not use up a Wrath of the Storm slot.
Most of the rats are still twitching, and all of them still have blood flowing from their bodies. It is actually a bloody mess down here with these 5 dead giant rats strewn about the wood floor. Glowkindle might not be happy! The noises from the weapons were a bit loud, but no one seemed to open the hatch during the scuffle. All is quiet now minus the slight drip and liquid flowing noises from the blood.
What would you like to do? Alton still holds his lit torch.
"Is there any way that this bloody mess could be cleaned up using magic? I don't know if one of you has anything of the sort, but Glowkindle might appreciate it." Venovar whispers. You then see him stop and focus for a second. He then says: "Before this, I sensed a faint undead presence from somewhere in that structure ahead of us. There may be a wall or something blocking our way to this undead creature. Also, are you alright Alton?"
OOC: Thorvin can use his last spell slot to heal Alton or we can take a short rest and spend a hit die. Thorvin had 2 hp left after the rat battle he didn't want to go forward with 2 hp
Alton will deftly slip in between the barrels brandishing his shortsword. He will attack rat #4.
