Tentacle attacks vs. Echo Huarache and the Demogorgon
E 27 for Unable to parse dice roll. slashing, plus grappled and restrained.
H 23 for Unable to parse dice roll. slashing, plus grappled and restrained.
D 23 for Unable to parse dice roll. slashing, plus grappled and restrained.
Then, Dory moves up onto the beach (about 20ft out of the water) and spits acid at the pair on the stairs
DC 18 Dex for half of 31 acid damage.
After that, anyone within 120ft and able to do so.moves 10ft closer to the thessalkraken unless they succeed on a DC 18 Wis save. (It's a lair action. I don't have a good reason why... psionics maybe? )
I will argue there is an ally within 5’ of the thessalkraken that, although grappled, is not incapacitated. Of course, your ruling should stand. He would have used enough movement to get within 80’ so as to not impose disadvantage on his shot. The rest of his movement would be used to retreat to his cover. And Barril doesn’t have to hide, he could just be seeking cover from any retaliation.

(@the party, I apologize for not attempting to fire an arrow in previous rounds. I truly thought that the thessalkraken was immune to non-magical piercing/bludgeoning/slashing damage. Barril should have tried this a round or two earlier.)

See, that's the issue. He's got 20ft reach, so he's holding these guys off at some distance. The only ally within 5ft of the thessalkraken is the one inside of him. Now the real question is: does that count? I'll say it does. Proceed.
(It does have resistance, not immunity, to piercing, slashing etc. nonmagic.)
(OOC: No worries PlotArmored, unless the Thessalkraken has other resistances/immunities it should have taken massive damage by now. Just keep hitting and think we will get Sam out alive.)

<I'm trying to figure out Sam's turn. Dread ambusher says only usable on "first turn of combat" doesn't it? I never really paid attention to that before. Anyhow, that's enough damage to trigger something>
<I do like the idea of eating something that is at that moment eating you, very reptilian. Sam, have an inspiration for that one>
Sam's attack does not cause the thessalkraken to regurgitate him, however if she dies, he can exit prone using 10 feet of movement.
With a screech and bellow, the enormous tangle of tentacles collapses into the subterranean lake. The tentacles thrash once more as the violent convuksio s of its death rattle Echo through the chamber.
"Well done." Etrigan/Thessalar says to the Demogorgon. "Now let´s take care of Arse-Agard so that I can concentrate on procuring those stewards for you." "Hurry Barril. The high priest has probably set the rest of the temple on high alert and they could come for us at any moment now." Etrigan/Thessalar messages the others.

Barril will move and dash into the water to help Sam extricate himself from the thessalkraken.
(Can I assume we all still have water breathing turned on?)
Barril will message everyone on his progress with helping Sam and then remind them all about the “treasure” at the bottom of the lake.
