"Perhaps we try not to make her annoyed with us, as we did back there?" Menodora remarks, after having remained mostly quiet, quirking a brow at the group.
"I mean I am not naïve and I understand we've found ourselves in a...far larger situation than at first glance but. What benefit is it for us to simply make enemies of people who are doing their job? It certainly doesn't help us find Zabriss."
Clearing her throat, "And now that I've said my peace, are simply we knocking on the door of this Nima? Or have we another plan?"
"I agree," Aeros replies to Menodora a little chastised. "Can't hurt to start off friendly and see where the conversation takes us." Turning to Eryn (before he headed off), "It also can't hurt to split up and be cautious in case there are enemies in or around Nima's residence. I'm happy to be apart of either group." j
(OOC: I'm thinking we could have 2-3 of us knock on Nima's door to see what happens while we have the other members of our party hidden and keeping an eye out for anything unusual or people trying to escape the area, etc.)
"We will do what we have to.", he replied to Menodora smiling and unconcerned. "If she cooperates with the investigation, there truly is no reason to antagonize her. If not, well...", a chuckle escaped him, "Bounty hunting appears to be a rather result-oriented business."
"I can provide cover at the door.", Arthasis said to Aeros and the others. He had no intention to be the first one through the entrance, especially if there was really a sick gnome on the inside. He didn't expect to find anything here though. In his mind, there was a significant possibility that Nima was somewhere alongside Zabriss, celebrating their successful prison break.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"I can knock on the door this time, perhaps," she offers, though there is the slightest bit of apprehension obvious. Though they all seemed to be of the mind that there was not, in fact, any sickness to be found here. It didn't mean there wasn't some small possibility there was.
She approaches the door, nose flaring gently to look for any sort of smell that might be obvious to suggest sickness or otherwise.

"I don't think there is anyone sick here. Which I think we all suspected," she tells them as she approaches, "But those Kobolds have been here. That's for sure. I don't think I'd forget that scent any time soon."

With Menodora & Arthasis heading to the door, Aeros will stay back and keep an eye on the house and the surrounding area; though due to being a rather tall & bright golden dragonborn, he will not opt to hide and will instead try and act normal/ casual in the area.
"So, are we going to take the less diplomatic route, now?" she poses in Arthasis' direction, and anyone within ear-shot.
Mostly, out of an obligation to try the more legal route, she will knock again on the door and, in a most sing-songey fashion, offer a, "Hello! Anyone home? We've got soup!"

Menodora Ercanbald - Level One (Variant) Human Bard - Tales from Wildemount
"Open the door.", Arthasis insisted. "We know about the sickness but we have important business to discuss. We are acting under orders of the Watchmaster." Arthasis glanced at Menodora his face showing signs of unease. "We will keep our distance but you need to open this door."
Arthasis, alert and listening for discrepancies, notices that the voice sounds nervous, and suspiciously not at all like a female gnome. However, at the mention of the Watchmaster there's a noticeable pause and a brief scrabbling sound. Then the door unlocks.
"Oh, well, business...for the Watchmaster," the voice croaks, "far be it from me...to...deter that. Perhaps...I can help." The door creaks open just slightly. "Please, do come in."
(If our newcomers would like to join, now would be an excellent time to do so)
A pale elf walking alongside a dragonborn pauses when she sees a large group of people surrounding a doorway. Looking at him, she slowly approaches, her own curiosity eating any of her own reservations of danger. "Excuse me," she says, her voice panged with concern, "is everything alright?"
Kriv just watches from across the street as the group tries to get the door open. He was curious what approach they may take and was impressed when it was finally open. A group that can talk its way into a room was always a good sign. He just slowly began to make his way over to the door, his redish-purple scales glinting off the sun at times. His cloak being situated with an emblem of a feather. As he walks he begins to carefully take in the sights to make sure they may not have anything laying in wait.
"Hail and well met friends. May the flame bless you all." it was a safe greeting nothing hostile in his intent.
Arthasis watched the door creak open slightly. No matter who was on the other side of it, he knew it was not a female gnome. He barred Menodora from entering by holding one of his hand out in front of her. "I have a very bad feeling about this.", he said to her in a hushed voice. "That clearly wasn't a gnome doing the talking. This just has to be some kind of trap." He beckoned Aeros to come closer, trying to signal him that something was going wrong here. Arthasis used a foot to slowly spread open the door, all the while trying to keep as close to the wall as possible in an effort to present only a small target.
At the same time two newcomers inexplicably approached him and his companions. He couldn't tell if they were part of this or just indulged their aggravating nosiness at the worst possible time. If the latter was true, he was of a mind to send them into the building to take a look for themselves.
"Stay were you are!", Arthasis announced, "We are performing an investigation under the orders of the Watchmaster."

After the second knock, a moment passes.
"Go away," calls a coughing, creaky voice. "There's...sickness here. You'll catch...ill," it continues, effecting a harsh, hacking cough.
(Someone at the door roll me an insight check at advantage, since Menodora shared the info about the kobold scent)
