Sila looks to her fellow elf, "I'm Silaqui Nailo," she introduces herself. "Forgive for saying, I didn't expect to meet a fellow Pallid Elf out here in the Empire."

"Eryn Starflower," says Eryn by way of introduction. "I am an archer of some renown, and, if you are from Port Damali, you may have heard of me."

"Oh thank you Menodora!"  Aeros replies in regards to her healing, "One of those  bloody kobolds got a lucky shot on me, though you're not looking too great either.  Are you alright?"

After searching the house for any clues, he shares with the group, "I think I found some of that blasting powder though I'm no expert on the subject... Oh there you are Eryn!"  Aeros comments noticing the Elf.  "Seems this place was a trap as you suspected.  Did you see anything outside?"

(OOC: I had thought that Keaton had left in the morning before we went to the Firemark Facility though I might be mistaken)

[Regarding Keaton: He was last mentioned in the forum posts back at the Lodge, but I thought we assumed he was with us, even though Arcturos wasn't being active. Forget I said anything.]

After introducing himself, Eryn tries to determine Silaqui's age. As he is not yet an adult, he wants to determine how he should treat her.

"Just the escaping kobold," Eryn replies to Aeros's question. He then asks a question of his own, "Any sign of the gnome, Nima? I had assumed the kobolds were guarding her. Have you been able to check the other rooms yet?"

"Oh there were more than two?  Hope they weren't too much trouble."  He comments as he flashes back to the bolt striking him moments before.  "And no sign of Nima.  Seems like she hasn't been here for a while by the look of things so I'm not sure how much we'll find in her home.  I did manage to find a bag of black powder; though probably similar to the ones used in the escape attempt,"  he adds on as he tosses the bag to Eryn to take a look at.  "Anyone else find anything useful?"

Eryn's attempt to catch the bag of black powder (a straight Dex check): 11

Assuming that the above roll is good enough, Eryn swallows involuntarily as he looks at the innocuous-looking bag. He knows little about such alchemical stuff and is very surprised at Aeros's casual treatment of something powerful enough to blow down the walls of a prison.

Gingerly handing the bag back, and if no one else has anything to say, Eryn begins his own search of the building.

Investigation check (rolled twice if Advantage or Disadvantage due to his senses apply): 22 , 6 .

He is particularly interested in any signs that Nima the gnome might have left voluntarily (e.g., signs that Nima changed her clothes before leaving).

Kriv just reads over the paper as the rest of them talk "I am Kriv. Also, no never heard of you." he says his eyes still on the paper. As he finishes he looks to them all "Well if we are going to solve this issue, it might be good to go look here." he just turns the paper over so they can see the waterfall and cave "Wherever this maybe."

Sila appears an adult.

Eryn finds a few heavy coats and gnome-sized work boots that are stained with red dirt.

Arthasis stayed at the entrance to the building leaving the others to search for any clues left by Nima or the kobolds. If either of them rigged the place with explosives, he would be the first one out the door, as it should be. While he stood there and tried to inspect the wound those creatures had inflicted to him, he also observed the individual who had introduced himself as 'Kriv'. He would need to keep an eye on that one, Arthasis was certain.

"Tell me you found something to work with.", Arthasis said to the others. 

History check to see if Aeros would know anything about the cave & waterfall from the sheet Kriv found: 13

Presuming the red dirt on the overcoats matches the sample of crimson mud he has, Eryn shows the two items of clothing to the others. 

"This can't be a coincidence," he says. "Those locals we spoke to last night didn't recognise the sample of red mud I took off the feet of the kobolds who attacked us, and yet this Nima person has been to the same place at least twice..." He muses for a moment before adding, "Perhaps this Nima is not as innocent in this matter as I thought."

Turning to Aeros, Menadora and Arthasis, he then says decisively, "We should fetch the guards so they can put these wretched creatures into Gearhole, then I say we visit the Lay of the Land apothecary, as was suggested to me at the time, to see if they know where mud of this colour can be found in the local area."

"I'll manage," she tells Aeros, quietly, "Nothing a night's rest won't cure, hopefully." 

She offers the bag of silver she identified in the flat of her hand, "I found this bag of silver, it would appear. Also, I'm Menodora. Menodora Ercanbald, it's a pleasure to meet you both. It seems we all have a habit of meeting at awfully intriguing times."

Admittedly, she feels the slightest bit bad at the idea of taking someone else's money. 

"Perhaps we can use it to further assist us in our search," she offers with a small shrug, "Particularly if we are headed to this waterfall place. Should we need supplies for a journey." 

Aeros cannot recall anything about the cave or waterfall when he goes over his knowledge of the city. 

There are quiet hisses beginning to come from the Kobolds as they start to come to. 

"Waterfall place?" queries Eryn, who is not aware of the map.

When he is shown the scrap of parchment, he reads it and then frowns in confusion. He then begins searching the house for a sample of its owner's handwriting so he can compare it to what is on the parchment. He will not be surprised to find out they differ, but he is looking for confirmation of this.

"Waterfall?" Sila asks, "perhaps someone could explain more? I'm kind of lost I'm afraid."

"It seems the person we were hoping to find here might actually be at this secret cavern located near a waterfall though I'm not familiar enough with this area to know if there's a place like that nearby.  Maybe we can ask the Watchmaster or any city residents if they know of such a place?"  

Eryn understands draconic and so he attempts to listen in on any whispered conversations between the two kobolds he roped together earlier.

Kriv walks over drawing a dagger as he whispers a prayer for more guidance. He gets on a knee staring one of the kobolds in the eyes. He keeps his voice calm and low as he whispers in draconic "Tell me what you know about this cave? Where can I find your boss." he points back to the others "I'm not with the city watch, so the rules they are conscripted to I am not. Which means I can gut you like a fish if I desire you worm. So speak." with that he just holds the paper in front of them showing the waterfall.
