Mercwri after passing on the bow and arrows to Freak you ask after the Captain. You are informed that she is taking care of the goblin and is not to be disturbed.
OOC: Torvin, let us know how you take the Captains dismissal and then I will wrap up the day for us :)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Having sensed the mind, a mind so big and vast that it could only be that of a dragon, Randrak decides again. He wants to understand more of what he has just experienced before pressing on the matter in the morning.

“The secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don't need any rules.” ― Gary Gygax
The revelry of the evening stretches on into the early hours of the morning and one by one you stumble off to your cabins in various states of disrepair. The ale was fine, the food was copious and sleep takes you quickly. Randrak you concentrate once more, calming you nerves and entering a meditative state. Your mind is open and this time the presence comes more quickly. A vast and powerful mind observing you with interest. You try to reach out, to communicate with it and it seems... amused.
”Sleep now, Stonebound brother. The day has been long.” The voice is deep and soothing and you find yourself obeying its suggestion as you pass into a dreamless sleep.
The night is uneventful and you all awake to a new day. A young gnome brings food and fresh wash bowls to your rooms. What do you want to do?
Hearing someone at the door, Freak pretends to be sleeping, but gets up once the gnome leaves and hungrily eats everything. Having only washed yesterday, he doesn't wash, but he's thirsty, so he drinks half of the water. Then he heads out to enjoy his new found freedom and explore.
Torvin you find Salvas at the bow of the ship repairing one of the runes that was damaged in the initial dragon attack. It sparks blue energy as the Rune Shaper moves his hand over it, muttering a silent incantation. Eventually he stops and looks up at you and then to Mender who is standing nearby observing.
"You may complete the work here." he says to the gnome before standing to speak with you. He gives you a keen look and then nods, "Come with me."
You follow Salvas below deck and down toward his cabin. Once inside he motions for you to take a seat and closes the door. Sitting himself across from you he offers a friendly if wary smile,
"Now how may I help you?" he asks at last.
...As the rest of you wake and emerge from your Cabins you will note the crew busy about their work and Mender at the bow of the ship carrying out magical repairs. The Captain is nowhere to be seen and Torg is supervising the cleaning of the Galley down below.
Torvin will say: "Mr. Salvas, Yesterday after the battle when the collar that seemed to be controlling the dragon came off.... As I am sure you know I did cast detect magic on it and got a faint hint from the collar before the magic in it died. After that I was almost overwhelmed with the magic coming off of the what others see as a ship but, what I saw wasn't a ship but a Red Dragon. I would like to understand what is going on. Now I know you may be hesitant to talk to a Cleric of Moradin about 'frowned' upon arcane matters but, let me assure you not all view such things as heresy. Who would I tell anyway as my homeland is now no more?"
Randrak replies to Uldran, "Aye, I was in the city. I was sworn to secrecy but I guess that doesn't matter now. There had been a number of assassinations on the people in power, those with high profiles in the public eye. This was shortly before everything went to the Nine Hells. This definitely wasn't some random event, there's no mistaking that. A grand scheme is at play, and we are just moving pieces along the board.
However, I don't trust our dear captain. There's more going on here than what is apparent. I don't exactly trust you either, no offense, but trusting the wrong person when you are solider could be a death sentence. On the other hand, you do not know seem to know the captain better than I. Meaning for now, we're in the same boat, figuratively and literally.
Last night, after I retreated away for meditation, I came across some entity. I get the impression that this entity was a dragon of some sort. It's mind was certainly vast, and it spoke to me. Well, it didn't just speak to me it seemed to use some sort of arcane force to command me to sleep. I don't like it, not one bit. I think it has something to do with this boat that we're on. It may not have malevolent intent, but something that has power of us to the extent is still a threat.
I'm determined to get to the bottom of this though, even if that means I have to use the threat of force. I will need your help though, I won't be able to do this alone. The captain will have far too many loyal crew for that.
Are you with me?"

Salvas listens patiently to your words Torvin. He nods at the mention of you detect magic casting and rubs his chin carefully as he considers your request. "It is pleasing to know that not all servants of the Dwarf god are superstitious fools. However, what you ask is a long guarded secret of the Stoneship fleet. You should not have seen what you saw, but the level of energy required to create the shield yesterday roused her from slumber it seems." he shakes his head, "I have already said too much. Tell me, was it you the Dragon spoke to last night or another of your number?"
OOC: Torvin if you want to know much more it will take persuasion or intimidation. Give me a roll :)

While Torvin is secreted away with the Rune Shaper, Randrak and Uldran speak quietly apart from prying ears.
You, Freak wander down toward the galley where you find Torg hard at work mopping the deck. At your offer of help Torg responds with a beaming grin and slaps you in the back with a enough force to send a lesser dwarf sprawling.
"Good lad, good lad. Tell me how are you rats?" he produces a cudgel from his belt and presses it into your hand. "The damned crew quarters are lousy with them and a spry dwarf such as yourself could have a fine time drubbing the life out of the little blighters!"
He points to a bucket by the door, "Take that there bucket and fill her up with the hairy buggers. I'll slip you a silver or two for yer trouble." he gives you a wink and urges you off toward the door.

Torvin nods at the Captain and Mender and heads back up to see if there is anything left to eat and drink.
Been sleeping for an hour already 😉

After breakfast Torvin would like to find Salvas and speak with him
"Mr. Salvas if you don't mind may I speak with you in private?"
(Is that a long rest?)
Randrak wakes up his head foggy and he has a headache. He grunts a thank you before tucking into the food.

I will look for Torvin to ask about his healing, but not finding him I will seek out Randrak.

OOC: Yeah, thanks for pointing that out
