Mercwri will stash the potions of speed, the Alchemy Jug, Cape of the Montebank and the bead of force; “We may need these at some point, besides, it never hurts to be overly prepared.”

Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
Haddie snorts a laugh as you comment on the harmless bag Randrak, but leaves you to your delusions as for Reggarn and the light fingered Mercwri she shakes her head and draws her blade.
"I said... one choice each. Bought and paid for by the High Shield. Make your choice and put the rest back."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Sorry," Mercwri said. "Thought it was all to aid in the 'unified' effort to fix the mess outside." He shrugs, "I mean we could use any of this stuff t' save your hide, too. How about we give ye back what we don't use once we're all able t' have a peaceful pint without havin' t' worry about dragons, 'n drow dropping in fer a visit?"
(Mercwri pick your one item you rascal. If you really want more bling perhaps you should deliver that bag of gold mender gave you to deliver to his cousin. Just saying...)
"Right.. that's that." Haddie sheathes the dagger upon seeing Mercwri put all but one of the items back.
"So the ambassador is a Drow in disguise is he... well High Shield asked me to sneak you all into the Shield Hall and now I know why."
She covers up the items on the table with a black cloth and then whipping it away they all have disappeared.
"So... you all ready to go or you need any gear or supplies of the less expensive kind before we set out?"
"Then... then maybe I should have it?" Randrak says quizzically. "You were saying I should have before, right? And now that I have this bag as well. If we're going up against foes who have no qualms about using magic, I guess we're going to have to as well. If we're to survive.
But it just offers protection right? It's not going to try and strangle me or anything?
Also, what does that bag do?"
The last question he directs at Haddie.

Haddie give a brief nod to you Alanis and begins to rummage around in one of the nearby crates. A moment later she hands you a simple shield with a white wolf head emblazoned on its surface. She waves away your coin,
"It's covered." she gives you a wink. She then turns to you Randrak and explains what the Tan Bag of Tricks does.
Mercwri you get the impression that Haddie accepts the High Shields authority as a given and does not much care whether that be as a King or a Lord, it's all the same to her. She is more focused on the task at hand than the politics of the situation.
As Randark listens to the explanation of item, he stares wide-eyedly. "It doesn't, does it?"
For a moment he looks around the room, almost as if he is searching for something.
"Something so small seems so dangerous. What if one just happens to fall out? Would it be friendly then? I wouldn't want to caught unaware whilst bathing."

"I think so," Randrak replies. "I normally have no issues with battles. I have fought many a foe in my lifetime. Now it seems, they are messing with forces I just don't understand. So I guess I'm ready as I'm ever going to be."

"Ah, forgive my misunderstanding good gnome." Reggarn will only take the sack with the potions of healing.
Grub has also drawn his blade ready to defend his friends "Mercwi, I like your style, but I think we need friends more that items"
Reggarn will step in front of the goblin with his back to the gnome. "Thank you for defending me. Please quickly put your blade away."
He will then turn back to the gnome, "please forgive him. He has been abused by many much as some gnomes have been. He means you no harm."

OCC Well, I see that went over well

Randrak's mind is too preoccupied by the bag that is now in his pocket to pay attention to allies greediness.

Alanis thinks for a moment.
“Yes, actually, do you have a simple shield?. I‘ll pay for it myself.”
She unclasps her cloak and looks at her companions .
“And do we have enough time for attuning? I think this should go to one of you.”

"What is it?" Grub asks, having sheathed his dagger
"Wait," Randrak says turning to Alanis. "That's the protection cloak, right?"

Alanis nods.
”Yes. I’d prefer to see one of you better protected, because in a fight I’ll probably make not that much of a difference, but one of you will.”

Mercwri will, unobtrusively, consider the sincerity of Haddie in regards the High Shield as 'King" of this place.

Alanis quietly thanks Handy for the shield with a deliberately neutral expression, turning into a smile when she hands over the cloak to Randrak.
”As you can see I remain unstrangled despite wearing it. But remember, you need to connect to it for it to work.”
