Skulls and Starships

(I was kind of waiting for a reaction from the members of the crew and the people bow missing fingers.)

Yo, where is everyone.

The remaining antagonistic crewmen weren't well liked, so there's not too much of a problem, but you certainly didn't lower any hostilities with that. Plugg was carrying an Electric Rapier, a Dragon Pistol, a set of Freebooter Armor, and two syringes that essentially function as Greater Healing Potions. Scourge was carrying an Electric Whip, a Knife, a Laser Pistol and a Stationwear Flight Suit. In the Captain's Quarters, you also find two units of plunder (various spices, works of art, clothing, and other sellable goods worth 2,000 credits). Fishguts speaks up. "It won't be long before Harrigan makes it back to the rendezvous point and finds that we're not there. He'll suspect that something went wrong and come looking for us. Now there's a a station with this guy, Rickety, who can squib a ship like this. Make some cosmetic changes here and there so that the guys who built this ship wouldn't even recognize it, let alone Harrigan."

Dani commandeers the armor for her projects (although if someone asks for one of the sets she'll give it to them). She also takes any unclaimed weapons. She flaps a hand at the others. "Do what you want and let me know where we're going. I've got work to do. Oh yeah, I'm the quartermaster, and any of you have a problem with that, I'll be in the hold." With that, she heads belowdecks for the hold to do inventory and set up a workshop.

Toni walks over to gin and gives her a big hug, “Well, it looks like we are our own pirates now. That’s pretty good.”

"You know... she just said more in the past few minutes than I heard her say since we woke up on the wormwood." Thrash would say with a grin as Dani appoints herself quartermaster. "i think I like the new Dani." he would add before turning back towards the crew. "Alright, well we need to haul tail and put some distance between us and Harrigan. Fishguts, would you kindly provide the coordinates so that we can meet up with your pal Rickety." Thrash would ask the cook before looking to the rest of the crew. "Alright.. You four hand over all your weapons and armor to my friend Dani here. Once ya can get most the crew to vote that ya arn't a$$ holes anymore, you can have it back." Once their gear has been handed to dani Thrash would clap his hands together and rub them. "Alright. We got our course set and you all know your duties... but now it is a time to celebrate! We'll get this bucket of bolts pointed the right direction and then it's time for drinks and music!" The lizardfolk would shout as he takes off his had and uses it to motion to the crew to head on out and disperse.

Gin returns the hug with much gusto! “So L-pop stars turned pirates. What kinda album will we make outta this story?” She grins. She looks over to Thrash, their new captain, and asks, “Hey! So, we’re not too well versed in this pirate life yet. What do we do?”

"Alright, well I might be a dick but I ain't heartless." Thrash would reply with a grin. "But let me start by saying what we DON'T Do.. and these are non-negotiable... Anyone caught doing this shit will lose more than a finger... No slaves and No ****... People are a lot of things... some times they're even food... but they aint loot." Thrash would say as he holds up a clawed finger. "Now... once we get the ship fixed up and maybe even a few upgrades.. then we start lookin for a target. Like I said before... Too much killing is bad fer business so we only kill the folks that refuse to surrender. After we get the goods we need we gather up the remining survivors and we stuff them in a pod make note of their coordinates so we can send an anonymous tip to the authorities to pick em up later... or if we don't want to take their ship, we disable their engines and comms before leaving while ensuing they got the tools they need to fix it long after we are gone." 

"Now that is how I'd like things to work but I know things get messy so we will see how it goes. Now as fer you and your sister. I got some ideas about using your music to get us paid.. Maybe having you all take a gig on a rich luxury ship so you can provide us with their location so we can intercept em is just one off the top of my head.. I got a few more ideas but I don't wanna work myself too hard" Thrash would say as he taps the side of his skull with his finger.

Dani is happy to collect the weapons of the four troublemakers, telling them frankly, "I'll take good care of them until you can have them back." Those go in a locked box, and she takes a look around the hold, exhaling. A few minutes later, Dani's head pokes back above deck, likely just as Thrash is finishing his explanation of the rules. "HEY!" she shouts. "I NEED TWO ASSISTANTS. ONE OF YOU NEEDS TO BE GOOD AT MATH, AND THE OTHER NEEDS TO BE GOOD AT MATH AND CAPABLE WITH ENGINEERING TOOLS! IF YOU THINK YOU CAN HACK IT, GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE FOR AUDITIONS! Oh yeah Thrash, I'm engineer too." With that, her head disappears again.

OOC: Dani wants one quartermastering assistant and one engineering assistant. She'll pick whoever seems best at bookkeeping and engineering respectively, regardless of their personality or history.

Ashley looks at the camera. This one had an impressive set of vocal cords. Might prove useful.

Dani: Unsurprisingly, no pirates come down to audition, because they wouldn't be pirates if they were good at math or other nerd shit.

Fishguts gives the pilots the directions to Rickety's and it takes you three days to fly to his station. It's a small station on an asteroid, with a docking bay for ships to land in. A small ship flies towards you and begins to hail your ship. 

"I know that you are probably overwhelmed with applicants, but perhaps I could help you with the mathematics..or..something." Ashley says, peeking into Dani's workspace and looking around with her eyes.

Dani looks up at Ash pokes her head in, grinning. "Oh, hell yes. Thanks, Ash. I've got a ton of cataloguing to do, and I won't be getting much help until we put in at a port where I can track down an assistant or two."

"Mm." is all Ashley says, but it's clear she understands and commits. "Very well. I shall assist. Please tell me what to do." she offered. She sat, if available or offered, and looked around taking in each and every detail, like a cat scanning a room or perched high and looking at birds from a distance. After a moment, she stared at you without blinking, which was odd, but what was more odd was that it looked like she was looking "through"  or "into" you. If you didn't know her at all, it would be quite unnerving.

Dani explains the inventory process quickly to Ash and then gets to work alongside the wizard, apparently content with the silence.

Ashley listened to Dani as she explained the task. She then got to work quietly, and the two enjoyed the quiet. 

Thrash moved through every room of the ship once the group disbanded. He wanted to be familiar with every inch of the vessel. While doing so he would stop each member of the crew as he passed them "Now on the wormwood you all weren't given any choices about what jobs ya took on but I want my crew doing jobs they're good at... So tell me what ya did before and what yer wanting to do now." Thrash would ask while sizing up each member of the crew... looking at what kind of weapons they have on them, how they carry themselves, if they appear to be muscular or scrawny or overweight. All of this was useful information that he would try to process as they made their way to see Rickety. The lizardfolk hoped that the 2000 credits worth of loot onboard would be enough to change the look of their ship so they could start their new career without having to keep looking over their shoulders for the Wormwood.

The crewmembers give you a rundown of the boring day-to-day tasks they are good at and you assign them to jobs based on that. Meanwhile, the ship from Rickety's continues to hail you. You should probably respond.

Ashley spied the controls. A light was blinking. She didn't know what it meant.

"Sir, look." she said to Thrash, studying it. "It appears to be a small incandescent bulb, designed to indicate something out of the ordinary, like a malfunction, or a hail. More likely a hail."

"Yes! Of course it is! i must have just missed that section of the  post describing it.. I mean.. Well what are you waiting on, respond back" Thrash says as he presses the button on the console and opens up communications with the ship. "Greetings. one of my crew that goes by the name of Fishguts says that Rickety can fix up my ship. I got credits if you got an opening." Thrash would say into the comms device.
