Skulls and Starships

Ashley's still looking at the blinking light. She happens to notice a thickly bound owners manual nearby, and she says, "Ah." She looks at the cover for a moment, and then uses the book to smash the button, breaking it - like smashing a fly - and the button stops blinking. She puts the book back where she found it and resumes her work like nothing happened.

Ashley destroys the button, but accepts the hail. You see a mechanic in his early sixties with a few crew members. "Name's Rickety. Permission to come aboard and inspect the vessel, Captain?"

"Well we will have to get dani to fix that.." Thrash would grumble before responding. "Yeah! Come on over. We'll get a cold beer ready for ya" Thrash would reply with a grin.

Ashley stands and her eyes turn pale. She looked over the newcomers with awkward intensity.

"You." she says to one of them. "You'll need to get that checked out." she says cryptically.

Toni will look to gin, “we should definitely greet any guests to our ship, right?” She will quirk a smile.

"Yeah, go with Fishguts. Have him bring em a beer and say hello. If we get this guy to like us maybe he will cut us a deal." Thrash would reply as he gives Toni a slap on the shoulder. "Take yer sister.. you two can be our welcoming party." He would say before quickly moving to find Dani. "hey! Gumball! you.. Dani... yes you!" Thrash would yell down to the artificer. "I want you up here with Rickety. I need ya to make sure he knows what needs fixed and what needs upgraded.... I also need you to make sure we ain't getting ripped off"  The lizardfolk would add before making his way to see Fishguts friend. 

When they board the ship and Ashley makes her comment, Thrash would just shake his head a bit... "Look.. were trying to make them feel good and like us... not give em a heart attack worryin about some space parasite eating their liver or some shit" The lizardfolk would whisper to the Ashley.

Gin grins over to Toni when she suggests welcoming their guests, only for it to widen when Thrash gives them the orders. “Aye aye cap’n!” She says with much jubilation in her voice. Then she leans over to Toni and asks, “That’s what they say, right?”

Rickety's ship links up with yours and he and his crew do some inspections of your ship. "It'll take 4 days to have this ship squibbed and it'll cost you 2,000 credits to get it done. Now I assume that part of this squibbing will include renaming the ship, so what name do you want us to put on the ship?"

Thrash would turn towards Dani as he lists the work that needs done as though waiting for verification that he isn't getting ripped off before looking to Toni and Gin. "Any chance you tator tots can convince 'em to drop is price or throw in a upgrade or blaster or anything?" he would whisper to the sisters before redirecting his attention to Rickety and then to Ashley. "How do you feel about "The Reclaimer"... " Thrash would ask as his first mate while rubbing his scaly chin. 

"A substandard name, but one I am reluctantly satisfied with should it be what the majority of the crew wishes to name this ship." she said, wincing slightly. Then, under her breath, "Might as well picked "Good Ship Lollipop".."

Dani is underneath a crate patching up a hole when Thrash tracks her down. "Yeah, I'll be up in a sec!" she shouts, making her way up and onto the ship a few minutes later.

She nods at Thrash when he gives her an expectant look to indicate that yeah, that's an appropriate price.

"Well I agree that a name like the Bloody Behemoth or Corpse Ripper 5000 might be a bit more intimidatin.. we also don't want people to know what is is we DO... till we start to do it." Thrash would reply before looking to Rickety. "The Reclaimer" will her the new name. Ashley, get some of the crew to begin boxing up our payment... but only give em half fer now. We'll give em the other half once the job's done." Thrash then looks to RIckety with a nod. "Do ya need anything else from me or my crew?" He asks with a tilt of his hat. 

Toni and Gin welcome Rickety and his people on board and lead them around, excited to interact with new people.Toni will nod at the name, “I think it’s fitting. Good clean name that could mean a bunch of things.”

"Yes, a good choice, Captain, wisely decided." she drolls, and you're unsure if she's being sarcastic or not. "Understood." she says, and begins the task commanded to her.

"Yeah. I'm gonna need your crew to pack themselves up and make themselves cozy in the station for five days. You're gonna have to dock while we squib your ship. Now we don't have any fancy champagnes or penthouses, but we've still got good beds and good beer at the station."

"Is there a medical ward perhaps?" Ashley asked.

"Yeah, we've got a place to go where you can get patched up."

Thrash shoots Ashley a quick look.. his eyes narrowing just a teeny bit as she asks about the med bay. "It's a good thing we are all doin just fine though and don't need ta be poking around the med bay though.. yup... A good thing." Thrash would say to ashley before turning and heading towards the bridge of the ship. "Alright folks. Grab your gear cause were gettin off the ship for the next five days. Take anything ya might need with ya cause ya ain't allowed back on till I say so." The lizardfolk would hiss into the comms. He would then head towards his quarters and collect his gear before heading off the ship.

"I do not need to be patched up." Ashley said. "It is for academic purposes."

Dani collects her current Project, mostly tools and scrap metal since she's currently improving her armor so she hopefully doesn't ******* miss all the time, and heads off the ship.
