Rhaecus tugs at his goatee as he continues to play the drum with the other hand. "You know, now that you mention it... For all the drinking I've done with Centaurs, I've not seen one swim before. Strange, considering horses in general are adept at swimming. Have you attempted it before?"
"Ah, yes,"Zaela says, "Your horse body would prevent you from swimming, wouldn't it? Goats are quite good swimmers, climbers, and runners, as are we satyrs,"Zaela finishes with an elbow nudge in Rhaecus's side.

"I have," Arteusa sighs, making a face. "It did not go well." She'd been a curious child, after all; prone to getting into all sorts of trouble. "Horses don't have to coordinate another set of limbs in the water," she muses, shrugging. "Perhaps we would be better at it if more centaurs tried to learn; as it is, we are often told that the water is not our domain."
Zaela looks a bit puzzled, and says, "I have heard of types of fish centuars that dwell in the seas. Have you or Donos ever encountered such a creature?"

Rhaecus giggles as he's nudged. "If we could be all things... It would be great fun! Well I for one would desire wings, or maybe an extra set of arms. I could play the my own theme song while fighting, who doesn't want that?"
Sadly smiling at Rhaecus, Kaenis reminisces over her struggles to keep a personal identity afloat after many years spent under disguises while infiltrating the Persian cities. "Be cautious as to what you wish for, Satyr. If you can be anyone, it becomes difficult to be someone." Turning to Zaela, she says; "I'd be more than glad to commune with the inhabitants of Elysium. I've heard of great tales and feats of honor, and if we're stuck here for eternity, why not make some friends?"
"Yes, great," Zaela says flatly, "More people. I hope that brute Heracles didn't make it here, but given his parenthood, if he's dead yet, he likely will be."

"I wouldn't mind meeting others," Arteusa muses, content now to walk at the same pace as the others. "I've mostly heard tales of wild, drunken parties," she laughs, shaking her head, "but those were the musings of soldiers before battle, so I'm not sure how much stock I put into them."
In an equally flat voice and a placid smile, Kaenis retorts; "No worries, Zaela. I'm sure that if you aim to have nobody to converse with, you are already well on your way,"before turning towards the closest building she could see and begin slowly strolling in that direction.
"Oh, I do like people,"Zaela replies, "I'm just quite drained, in practically all ways, and don't think I have the energy to continue meeting more people today. I would like a place to retire to for the day, if that's okay, your majesty."

Donos only listens to the others with half an ear. Hopefully they find other inhabitants soon. An eternity of this simmering animosity would be less than ideal.
He does finally turn to them as they move along,
"Comrades, it appears that we are all equally dead. And we have all been equally rewarded with Elysium," he says. "Take our centaur here as an example. For the first time since she was young she can run free. There must be experiences you all wish for."
He walks on a little longer.
"I, for one, hope Heracles is here. Our battles shall be epic."
"You know," Arteusa muses in agreement, "it would be fun to pit myself against other warriors just to test ourselves against each other." Especially warriors in Elysium, who had all earned their place here for doing great deeds and were likely to be among the best. She'd spent so long fighting in wars that she'd forgotten what it was to fight for sport.
"Though, Zaela makes an understandable point," she admits, glancing over at her. "Death has been kinder to some of us than others."
"Of all the ancient heroes, perhaps the one I would most like to meet is Odysseus. A truly cunning one and one of the few heroes to die of possibly old age." He chimes in, still stroking his goatee.
"It feels like ages since I have last shared a good song from the heart with someone else... Death has done me no favors in that regard. Maybe I will search for musicians to play with first. Where there is music, there ought to be celebration... Aside from our gloomy friend, would anyone else like to come with?"
You approach the town, and as you do, you realize that it's closer to a village than a town. Barely that, really. There are a few houses scattered here and there, though they don't seem to be in the best shape. A few people mill about slowly, going about their business. The sound of beating hooves that doesn't appear to originate from Arteusa interrupts your observation. Over a nearby hill, a middle aged centaur with well kept curly black hair and a short beard approaches, a bow slung over his back.
"Ho, newcomers! Welcome to Elysium! If you know what's best for you, your stay won't be long. I'm Chiron, and I'll be your guide to this shithole we call paradise."
