OOC: Was the check always there and I missed it? Sorry.
"You're right," Holly says looking slightly unnerved by the murals.
These murals are distinctly Mayan om origin but the snake people around throwing you for a loop. You've heard of other aliens, yu-tai, but you've never actually seen one. This seems to be a temple devoted to them and a serpent god, similar to the Mayan Kukulkan. Kukulkan is associated with rulership, agriculture, language, the sky, and earthquakes. This looks like an offering day ceremony and in one mural you see a ritual sacrifice taking place of a white haired humanoid similar to Holly.... It's very eerie!

“But no living man am I! You look upon a woman...You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King
While Hunter stands guard over Milas as he attempts to disarm the trap on the door, Hunter finds his arms still tingling from the electric shocks he took.
Suddenly it feels like the room is spinning and his vision clouds for a moment. Hunter takes a knee, feeling like he's on the verge of fainting.
He can't see the room anymore. Instead, he finds himself looking at a memory; a memory from the summer before on his grandfather's ranch. It's as if he's really there but only catching glimpses and flashes. He was up in the foothills, rounding up cattle when he was caught in a thunderstorm. Lightning flashing. He took shelter in a cave. Another flash of lightning. Thunder rolled. Then a large shape rears up in front of him. A massive grizzly. It opens its jaws and roars at Hunter. It steps closer and nudges Hunter with its snout and then just walks out of the cave, pausing to look back. It's eyes flashing in the next flash of lightning.
Hunter's vision clears, and he realizes he is now on both knees in the middle of the room, still watching Milas work. No time has passed at all. But sweat drips down his back and off his brow. Looking at his arms, the hair seems darker, coarser. And he can still smell the bear; can feel it's presence even though it's a thousand miles away. He takes a deep breath and stands back up, looking around the room to see if anyone noticed what just happened.
"Holy crap," he says to himself. "What was that?"
He runs his hand over his arm hair, feeling the coarseness but also noticing that his skin feels harder, thicker.
He snatches his hand away before someone notices and focuses on Milas and the door again.
OOC: Will and Milas would like to have a Hulk out moment too. Bravo Hunter!!
"I don't know," Holly replies looking visibly shaken. "It was like some sort of energy surge for me! Did you guys feel that," she asks looking at Will and Milas her eyes vibrantly gold before before returning to their normal pupil-less amber.
The room seems to swim with energy the torches flicker before settling back into a static glow.

Will feels himself raising up, floating above the ground as his leather armor begins to glow, bright pale blue squiggles eating their way through it the way the charred paper burns to ash, the leather armor vanishing into floating motes of light as he levitates in a up-welling of radiant energy. The dancing motes coalesce in front of him, his vision nearly blinded by the light, but he raises his hands and reaches out towards the swirl of glowing particles in front of him. The rapidly take form, a slim, silvery tome taking shape, open wide, pages flipping as it blows back his hair, his eyes glowing with the same cyan radiance that slowly ebbs as he floats back down to the floor, the book a slight weight in his hands.
Blinking watery eyes, he looks around... he's still in the same room with the others and Holly, and he realizes that she's asking about an energy surge as her own eyes are changing back to normal.
"Uhhh... that's not supposed to be part of the simulation either, is it? I think my armor turned into a book...?"

Milas Seem's to have completely zoned into the lock, as he brain flooded with strange images of himself. He saw himself standing on a bar, with gold coins and roses raining down upon him. He see's himself singing to his friends as they charge into battle. He saw him self standing outside a gorgeous woman's window, singing he serenades up to her. Milas begins to whistle a slow little ditty that slowly picks up volume and pace, before stopping just as the sound began to hurt. The loud whistle is followed by a click (ooc 8 sleight of hand to disarm the trap on the door)

Holly shakes her head at Will.
"I've never....felt that before," she replies.
The group then looks over to Milas...
Milas make a DEX saving throw please DC 13 if fail suffer 1 of lightning damage from the shocking grasp trap triggering it while attempting to disarm. The trap goes off and the door creaks open Milas having successfully picked the lock.

"Before there was a temple and several doors some trapped and some not. We got through them and had to find a book. What just happened to all of us and these murals are new and...odd compared to what I've been through before. Sure plenty of deaths and dismemberments but nothing...so tedious and deliberately designed to waste time " she added motioning to her wristwatch. "We've been in the simulation for hours now," she adds looking visibly concerned. "I say we find the book and get out as quickly as possible," she adds gesturing towards the open double doors.

"I told him not to touch the metal bits," Hunter says as he pulls out his two hand axes. He follows the mage hand forward, primed for anything that might jump out at them.
Will calls out "Igam simra!"and taps the crystal in his bracelet, which glows with a soft blue light that surrounds and settles into him, fading away as Will casts mage armor on himself.
"I'll let one of you durable types take the lead."
Hunter enters the room with Holly hot on his heels.
"Whew...now this...this is familiar," Holly says moving about the vast room the resembles a temple as well as a library. The room smells of molded parchment and damp. There is the same green-blue torches here too illuminating the space with the eerie watery light. Many massive bookshelves have been toppled while others stand seemingly unmolested. There are scorch marks and blood trails, long dried and rusted, on the floor! There was a siege here...a fight that did not end well for one or both parties!!
Hunter can make whatever checks he's like.

"This mess is familiar?" asks Hunter. "What's this book look like anyway?"
The tingling of the shocking grasp still fresh in his mind, Hunter is ready for more booby traps and before he looks for a book, he does a quick check for trip wires, and trap doors, and anything else that might want to go boom.
Holly directs the party to an altar near the front of the library and grabs a tome.
"Sorry guys it's been fun but I've made a decision," Holly replies taking out a fob from her pocket and mashing it.
The same disembodied feeling as before when first entering the simulation takes over your body. Then suddenly you're back in the VR room of Doc Watson's lab. Holly is taking off her harness and looks very annoyed. Milas' harness is empty.
"Looks like we need to recruit again gentlemen," Holly says frowning. "Please stay by your phone's. I'll tell Doc you are both are worthy travelers," she adds with a curt nods showing you both out into the lobby.

Then he wraps Will up in a bear hug before setting him down.

And then he heads out of the building and back to freshman life.
