"Fine by me." Terrance takes point begins walking forward, and then pauses for a moment looking back over his shoulder. "Huh, that's weird. I can see past Will's light. Like, I can see in the dark. I've never noticed that before. I've always had decent night vision if the stars were out or something...but I can see in like pitch black. That's pretty cool." After this brief discovery he resumes his trek into the darkened hole.

Will's pebble is thrown it clinks against something ahead but the light is snuffed out! Holly let's out a low sigh cursing under breath!
"That's new," Holly explains her frustration from her position in the middle of the marching order her six foot height giving her some what of a vantage point over heads or shoulders of those in front of her. "Anyone got any ideas," she asks motioning to the seemingly impenetrable darkness!

"huh, weird. I think this simulation has given me some juice too, lets see if I can atleast get us some light here" Milas grabs a bolt from the pouch on his leg, and it begins to glow brightly ((ooc casting light)) and tries to wiggle to the front of the group, trying to get an eye on where the darkness starts, and after a bit of examining, sticks his head in it with the bolt in hand
Will wonders and looks around at what could have thrown the pebble from his summoned hand that was holding it aloft.
He recalls the hand and casts light on another pebble, before sending the hand up again, seeking to 'map' the edge of the snuffing effect... whether it was a visible darkness, or just an area where something snatches the pebble away and snuffs it.

Hunter watches Will's actions, curiosity mixed with tension. The other's seem more comfortable with this new tech than he is. The ranch in the summer and holidays, and the locker room and field during the year has left him unprepared for this.
"Come on Will, figure this out," Hunter says. "Then let us loose to take care of it."
"I'll try!", Will says with a determined grin, continuing to study the boundary of the effect. Hunter might not be the sort that he'd gravitate towards spending time with naturally, but it's nice to be appreciated by the muscly athlete type rather than just mocked by them.

OOC: Will needs to make an investigation check if he's trying to discover where the magic is being 'negated' around the party.
Will's magic seems to be effected by something above and ahead of the party but cannot determine the exact origin points.
"What's the hold up," Holly growls looking around the darkness.
The tunnel is about seven feet high and three feet wide. It's carved out of the stone of the pyramid from some sort of natural means. Magic seems weaken here for those who are magically inclined. The magic hand effect dissipating flung the pebble that it held aloft near Holly forward over the heads of Hunter and Terrance. Then it passed through a darkness snuffing out the light. The party then heard the pebble strike something solid ahead in the now determined magical darkness.
"We need to move," Holly repeats in a grumbling tone from her middle position.

"Okay big man," he says. "I say we just . . . hang on a sec."
He starts patting down his uniform and the many pockets and patches all over it.
"This uniform. It has this killer tech thing going on, doesn't it? Here, this one."
He opens the pocket that looks like a long pole.
"Slide to the side a little."
Hunter then takes out the 10' pole and starts prodding the darkness ahead, pushing forward to see if it's a wall in the darkness or if there are spaces around it for them to continue on.
Hunter uses the pole probing forward through the dark as Terrance steps aside. Ahead the pole is enveloped about 7 ft ahead of Terrance. It however isn't long enough to touch whatever made the sound the pebble hit ahead! Hunter feels no resistance but he cannot see the end of the pole that disappears 7ft ahead of Terrance and himself.
OOC: Great idea!

Will tries a few more times, calling forth the hand and having it move forward, casting light on the tip of Hunter's pole (nothing dirty!) and having him stick that into the dark and pull it back out to see if it is dispelled.
"I don't like not being able to see what might be waiting for us, but the pole might help make sure we aren't falling into a pit or the like, and hopefully it's only a short distance?"
Casting light on Hunter's pole (bahaha) Will and the party watch 7ft ahead of Terrance. The pole plunges into darkness and the light is snuffed out at some point ahead that Will is far too far away to see it's origin. Looking up however above were Holly stands he finally glimpses something shimmering faintly silver! A goop spread over head of the party on the tunnel ceiling.

Hunter, sensing that all of them trying to rush backwards in the narrow corridor was going to cause chaos and probably someone to get hurt flattens himself against the wall as Terrance presses back.
Whatever freaked Will out was above them. Getting away from what’s above is the immediate concern. So he moves quickly towards the darkness. He has spent many moonless nights on the ranch. You bump into a lot of things, but you lose your fear of the dark.
Letting Terrance pass too Holly looks at the ceiling where Will casts light and it gets snuffed out as soon as it reaches within inches of the goop. Holly let's out a groan moving passed Hunter then disappearing into the magical darkness. Seconds pass then Holly's head pokes out of the darkness.
"Yeah, uh I think it's safe. I'm getting that book with or without you," Holly says giving the party a look before disappearing back into the darkness ahead.

"Anyone have anything we can light?" Hunter asks.
He rummages around in his pack and pulls out his tinderbox.
"I can get a fire going with this but unless someone has a torch or something like that, it's not going to help much."
