Nicely done. The last shadow vanishes with an angry poof. The hall of mirrors, for now, is nice and quiet - leaving you all with a sense of bewilderment as to what just happened. Where to?
"That was unexpected to be sure." Cade agrees. He can think of no natural reason for it, so chalks it down to some sort of magic. "Does anyone have the ability to check into what caused them to appear, or should we just move onward?" He glances to the group, glowing eyes intense. He was so taken aback by the shadows his usual shyness was overshadowed by his concern about the appearances of those figures they just fought.
Looking ahead, Kasian notices that the hall of mirrors leads back to the hall of pillars they had sprinted through earlier. "It seems we've completed a loop. Might as well check on the secret passageway we saw earlier though I doubt there's anyone still in there at this point." he'll comment to no one in particular before heading East through 2b towards the secret entrance they had found earlier. Quickly scanning for any sort of traps, he'll enter the pathway (assuming he didn't find or trip anything).
Sword Stand. An unadorned wooden armor stand rests in the middle of the room, with a faintly glowing longsword stabbed into it. At the base of the stand lie the skeletal remains of a hand, amid stains of dried blood.
Distant Voices. Echoes of distant voices occasionally fill the room, emanating from 10-inch-long, 5-inch wide vents in the ceiling.
Cade peeks out from behind Mad Eye and looks over the blade. "No, not mine either." He says out loud when asked if someone can tell if it is cursed. He figures why else would a sword be left out here like this, even behind a hidden door, so has no intention of touching the thing himself.
Rowan steps forward to the long sword. “Let me handle this one.”
Then, as you see him begin to clutch his amulet and murmur a couple words under his breath, a ghostly moonlight begins to radiate from Rowan’s body. He casts detect magic (no ritual).
OOC- I took the spell identify, but completely missed the 100 gp material component, so unfortunately not gonna be able to cast that one. Lol!
"Agreed." Cade says, slipping back into Mad Eye's shadow. He peeks back out almost immediately, sneaking another look at the strange sword, his hand clutching the wooden chunk hanging from its cord around his neck. Seeing it has not changed he moves back behind Mad Eye again.
Flood. The floor of the room tilts — its west end is 6 feet lower than its east end. Foul sewer water covers the floor, barely reaching the east wall but deepening by 1 foot for every 10 feet of travel westward.
Statue. A wide alcove in the north wall contains a life-size statue of a sahuagin, submerged up to its chest in sewer water. The statue emits a dim purple radiance, its head is completely turned around, and one of its arms has broken off and is nowhere to be seen.
The water seeps through cracks in the ceiling of the alcove, drips down the walls, and accumulates in the west end of the room before slowly leaking out through smaller cracks in the floor.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Cade sees Rowan head out of the light of the spear's glow, and through the dense blackness of these tunnels. He slips into Rowan's wake, following the other. Cade's leather boots make little sound as he walks, trying to keep as silent as Rowan in front of him. The stench of the sewer water makes Cade grimace a bit, but he moves into the room, testing his footing as he notices the room slants down towards the far end.
Into Rowan's mind... "Hope there is nothing in that water..." Cade's voice says mind-to-mind. "I'd hate to have to go in there after something..."
Cade stays back from the water, just glancing over the statue from a distance, and not trying to get any closer. He cocks his head at the purple glow from the statue, wondering if there is something special about it.
Cade strikes out with another thorn whip

"I've got no idea. When I tried to grab it seemed to turn into mist or something. At least they were easy to kill." Kasian adds rather nonchalantly.

"Not mine either but I'm sure it'll sell nicely. Can anyone tell if it's cursed or something? That's not really my skill set."

The sword is indeed magical. It sheds a dim light.
"Why would someone leave a perfectly good magic sword this close to the entrance? I suggest we leave it and move on."

In the couple minutes, can Rowan walk around to area 3, I believe where that statue was to check for magic.

Not that you can tell. But that water looks tepid and gross.
AREA 5 - THE HIDEOUT
At the end of a long hall is a 50-foot-square room with five pillars made of mortared humanoid bones, painted black.
