Thats great! I started the same way, about a year or so ago. My suggestion is to just check the forums for PBP games, maybe 3 to 4 times a day. Filter it by views. Chances are, less view= newer post. Newer post= available slot. So sometimes you will com across a lot of posts with multiple character submissions, but they look like they took only a little bit of time to create the character. (Like its more of a skeleton as far as backstory with lack of detail) that being said, in a PBP setting, you have a bit more time to think how your character would react to a situation, allowing more time for role-play or RP.
Really what im saying is keep checking, if theres a slot, give some good backstory that any DM would appreciate. That will help, i promise.
~Good luck, Adventurer!~
