"Just normal things," Zoe says, "rations, a healer's kit, a couple of tents and bedrolls maybe."

He ponders this for a moment and says, "There's a small market downtown. It's a bit southeast from here. Most of the stuff you need should be there."

Zoe nods, "Thank you Sir. Take care," before going towards the direction he pointed.

"Thank you! I hope you don't get eaten by birds!" Acacia tells the man, then walks away very quickly so he doesn't have time to ask questions.

Aster turns his head to look at Acacia and looks as if he is about to speak, then he just pauses for a moment and follows after Zoe.

Pittheus looks quizzically at Acacia, Eaten by birds? he thinks to himself. He then follows the group to the market, keeping an eye out for any book stalls along the way (Perception: 18).

There are no book stalls on the way, but there is a small tinker's shop and another store that contains paper, quills, maps, empty books, spellbooks, and possibly some other books inside. This is on the way to the general market. 

As they walk, Pittheus loiters back a little at the sight of the store with maps and books. "Ah, I might have a little look inside... ah, does anyone wish to join me?"

"Go ahead," Zoe says, "I'll find my way back here to meet you."

Pittheus nods and makes his way into the store. 

"Greetings storekeep. I wonder what books and maps you might have on offer? And more importantly, what cost for said items? I'm loath to admit, but I'm a little scant on funds so must be frugal," he smiles awkwardly at the store keeper as he says this last part.

"I have a few dozen empty books, and some titles with notable authors," He explains, listing off a few books Aristotle, Plato, Archimedes, Sappho and Herododtus, "I also have many empty maps for sale, as well as some maps of Hella, Anatolia, the Aegan Sea, and trails between city states."

"How much would the maps go for, sir?" Pittheus says, thinking over the listed maps, "Perhaps the trails between cities and the Aegan Sea?"

He checks a book which he has on a counter, looking through all the prices of the items, and answers, "One gold piece for the map of between the city states, and two for the map of the Aegan."

Pittheus considers these for a moment, then nods, "I'll take them both please. One never knows when they might come in handy." He smiles as he places the three gold pieces down on the counter.

Once he has the maps, he looks them over, identifying any major points of interest quickly, before rolling them up and placing them in his map case.

"My thanks for your help, sir," he nods and waves to the store keeper as he leaves and then runs to catch up with the others within the markets.

The shop owner waves as you leave, and you manage to catch up to the rest of the group fairly quickly. 

Acacia follows after Zoe towards the market, waving enthusiastically to everyone who they pass. She grins when Pittheus catches up to them. "Did you find any cool books?"

"No books this time," Pittheus shakes his head, "but I did manage to find some maps that might help in our journey. Have you found anything you like?" He smiles at the others as he catches his breath from his little jog through the markets.

"Nothing quite yet," Zoe says, scanning the market area for rations and other basic adventuring gear.

You scan the market, seeing most adventuring gear here (everything from the PHB, but nothing that costs more than 50 gp, as this is a relatively small settlement).

Zoe starts moving around, saying a lot of things about what they may or may not need. "I'd reccommend having a weeks worth of rations on hand, just in case fresh game is scarce. A tent or two wouldn't hurt in case of elements."
