The group wanders into the dark lighthouse. The creaking wooden floor makes their entry a loud and echoing one. The room they enter its a circular room with a large spiral staircase in the center that goes both upwards and downwards. The North East wall has been broken and dismantled with by a large wooden beam from the ceiling above. The crack in the wall allows just enough light into the room to illuminate it slightly. Looking through the crack, they see the sea and an autumn tree outside.
Cenny is able to determine quickly where the smell of rotten flesh was coming from. On the west side of the room is a table still set with old, rotten food. The north of the room has an old turned over cabinet with some broken chairs lying next to it.
Tolstoy activates his darkvision and primeval awareness while continuing to walk alongside the group.
Primeval Awareness (PHB, pg. 92) As an action, you can expend one ranger spell slot (1 minute per level of spell slot) to sense whether any aberrations, celestials, dragons, elementals, fey, fiends, or undead are present within 1 mile of you (or within up to 6 miles if you are in your favored terrain). This feature doesn’t reveal the creatures’ location or number.
“Just as a painter needs light in order to put the finishing touches to his picture, so I need an inner light, which I feel I never have enough of in the autumn.”
Tolstoy's darkvision allows him to see in the room he is currently in. He detects undead and fiends within one mile of his current location.
Cenny moves around the cabinets and finds some left over parchment and miscellaneous writing quills and empty ink jars. In another drawer he finds some molded bread that must have been there for quite some time.
Herman heads down the stairs into the basement.
Tiriel is out of sight but is presumably still above the group at the top of the lighthouse.
Cenny will go up and grab anything loose from Tiriel's body like a scabbard or lose armor and gently grab it in his maw. He gently pulls Tiriel and motions back towards the mirror with his head and barks twice.
Cenny looks up at Tiriel with big yellow puppy dog eyes and whimpers frantically.

herman cautiously eyes the staircase descending beneath the floor.
”perhaps it would be wise to explore the lower levels first.”
herman arches his back to look towards the top
”nasty place to get stuck with creepers below us”

herman waves eagerly to tortle motioning him down stairs to a mirror.
“my wizard eyes led me down here to this mirror!”
the old man strokes his beard thoughtfully
”...not real sure what to make of it...could be useful”
Cenny trots down the stairs as well.
Tiriel quickly trouts down the stairs and into the main room. He finds Cenny, Tolstoy and Herman there waiting for him.
"The place was pretty ransacked with no signs of life or this orb or anything up there. You all have any batter luck?"
Cenny bobs his wolf head up and down and barks twice at Tiriel. Cenny runs back down the stairs with urgency.
herman motions cenny and tiriel to the mirror.
“something very peculiar about this mirror...peering into it showed me a glimpse of things to come?... or was it things that have already passed?”
the old man scratches his head...
”very peculiar...things dont look good, thats for certain...“
Tolstoy inspects his hands and body looking quite puzzled. Suddenly his eyes grow wide with panic!
“Imposter!! Don't let him escape!”
