Quin waits a bit until everyone seems ready to move on. He adjust his lantern hood so only a small amount of light illuminates his path before he heads north down the hall past where they came in. He pauses at the corner of the hall leading east to make sure everyone is keeping up before continuing on. Thoughts of ghosts flitter through his head.
OOC I need to jump back and take care of a few things that I forgot to post about.
The tube that Quin found contains a scroll in it, with two spells on it: burning hands and longstrider.
When fire is set to the nest, it quickly catches fire. As the fire spreads to the eggs, the smell in the room becomes worse. A few infant stirges can be seen trying to fly up and out of the flame, but, none of them appear to make it out.
From within the area beyond the door, there is the slightly muted sound of birds chirping, but, Quin doesn't hear anything other than that. When he looks inside the door, there is some light shining through gaps in the ceiling. Quin also notices a number of roots hanging down from the ceiling, with a rope also hanging down from the ceiling.
On the opposite side of the room, there is another door that is fallen off its hinges and is leaning against the door frame. The floor is covered with several inches of sediment and debris, including rotting leaves, branches, and pieces of fabric.
Quin meets the others back down the hall. About half way between the door and the last corner. He tells them what he discovered. "Well it looks like we might have a way up at least. Of course we could go back and check that other passage. Though I'd prefer just moving up and possibly out. Thoughts?"
“Why ‘up and out’?” Quiller asks. “We’re in good shape on the whole. Let’s check out the chamber, make sure it’s clear of any ‘hazards’ , keep it in mind for an escape route and continue our delving.” He looks at everyone, “What say you?”

Davril gives the others a puzzle look, "The goblins probably came in down this rope and they came for us. There's that mystery answered. As for what the ghosts were up to, maybe our looking for their secret triggered something, and we haven't seen them since, so I'm assuming that was it. And if it wasn't, who cares? What difference does it make? We've found what we were looking for, its possible there's more to find, but doubtful. Why not head out and move on to the next location our employer is looking for?"
Quiller scrunches up his brows, "Well, maybe some treasure? We haven't found a whole lot and I am the greedy type." He grins broadly. "It would be a shame if we walked out of here and learn another had followed us and found a nice chest of gold and jeeeewels," he drew out the last word enticingly.

Quin gives Davril a helpless shrug. "I'm with you. Though I disagree a bit about the ghosts. I just can't seem to get the image of the woman who touched me out of my head. Though I suppose that is to be expected after an encounter such as that. But as much as I agree with your reasoning, for much of the same had occurred to me, it would seem we are out voted. So lead on men. Take us where you think trouble and treasure await."
At this point Vothrolo moves forward into the room, and looks around. She pulls a notebook out of her satchel and writes something down in it, looking glancing around the room a couple times before saying "From my notes, it looks like we've explored almost the entire floor. Unless there are doors off the hallway over there, I don't think there is anything else to explore down here." As she makes the last statement, the half-elf gestures toward the door across the room from where your standing. "But, I'm betting that if we go out that doorway, the hallway will lead us to the room where we encountered the first group of stirges."
"When we were ambushed by the goblins, we were searching a pedestal, and the ghosts said they hid a key somewhere. Shoulds we look for the key? There was also a mud filled room we haven't searched. Were there any other rooms or halls we haven't searched yet."

Quiller, when he arrives at the corner, takes a stealthy glance around, keeping close to the floor as he does.

Peering around the corner, the party sees a door at the end of the hallway. The door is partially open, and about 50 feet away from the party.

"good riddance to bad rubbish. hey quiller, what's ahead of us?"
As Quiller relays whats ahead to those behind, Quin slips down the hall stopping to listen at the door.

"Let us search this floor thouroughly. We still don't know what those ghosts were up to, nor where the goblins came from."
"what they said"

"I believe there is more to learn here. Besides, wasn't there a way even deeper down near the place the goblins attacked us?"

"i'll back up the pointman."
Davril shakes his head, "Fine, I'll bring up the rear, but let's make this quick."
(Any chance we could get a rough map of what we have and haven't explored?)
