Quin nods in agreement. "Yeah probably best we don't spend too much time waiting. Could be more on the way. Besides he ought have a good idea how it works if we come back with what ever it is that fits in there. Come on Lukas let's go see what's down this tunnel." Quin starts down the tunnel with Davril. As he moves down the passage he is on high alert for any signs that the previous explorers stopped to examine something or for anything they might have missed.
Lukas does not notice any problems with the cave entrance. It is still open and no one is barring the exit.
Quiller has not trouble filling up the hole with water, and nothing happens. The water just sits there.
Quin and Davril move down the passage without any trouble. For 50 feet, the passage slopes downward. At 50 feet, the passage splits in two. The left passage levels out and continues beyond Quin and Davril's vision. The right passage begins to slowly climb up.
Quin scratches his chin as he considers the choice before them. "Let's go down. I feel like we should go deeper. Let me mark our choice so the rest can follow." He uses some soot from his lantern to draw an arrow on the wall indicating the pairs choice before descending down the passage.
In searching through the room, Quiller and Lukas find three bags of oats, five apples, several sets of well worn clothing, 120 copper pieces, 103 silver pieces, 70 electrum pieces, 70 gold pieces, and 5 platinum pieces. There is no trace of anything that will fit into the hexagonal hole and nothing that the keys will fit into.

After about 30 feet, the passage bends to the right. Continuing down the passage, after about another 30 feet, cobwebs start becoming visible on the walls of the hallways, with the density of cobwebs increasing in the hallway ahead.
"We must regroup, then see if these webs can be set aflame with torches. Where there are small spiders there might be larger ones - much larger. I have never faced such horrors, but there are too many tales of spiders larger than hounds for them all to be made up. Best be carefull."
The color drains from Quin's face again as Lorgar mentions hound sized spiders. "Uh you really think there could be some of those in here." he says shakily as he looks about the area suspiciously. "I agree lets go get the others. Then, as much as I don't like it, we should come back here. Those bandits obviously haven't found whatever it is that's hidden here and since this place doesn't appear to have been searched yet we might as well look where others haven't." He then follows the other two back up the tunnel.
Quin, Lorgar, and Davril make it back to the first room as Lukas and Quiller are finishing their search up. There were no encounters on the way back up the passage.
"The promise of trouble. Large spider nets. We need to group up, torch the nets and see what is up there. Whoever came through earlier did not disturb the spiders. We should check the rest of this place through first though. How about you, found anything?"
Davril nods at the presentation of the coin, "Horses and coin, this is proving to be a profitable encounter indeed. I think it might be better to confront the spiders sooner than later, just in case they decide the horses smell like food. Do spiders smell? Anyway, I'd prefer not to leave a known threat behind me to investigate a potential one."

Lorgar simply stands there and keeps a lookout, himself not sure how to proceed.
Davril sighs and gestures to Quin, "I suspect he will be there for a while, let's just go take a look."

Davril looks to Quin, "On or up? Better not to split."
Quiller will carefully comb the room, looking for something that might be a 'hex' key or anything that could be used as an ad hoc key.

Davril slows and glances to the others, "I think we should either bring up the others for whatever's ahead or check the other passage, thoughts?"
"well, my friend, at least we shall eat and have well-kept finances if we can return to the village. maybe it's for the best there isn't a key here."
