The two spirits approach each other and embrace on the stage. The male softly speaks to the female “Petrusi, deore, he esse nihto. The female became visibly excited and responded “Oh, Trop’arin. Wilrian waere begra segnung of cud durhteon orgilde de woda, solic efne giet orgilde bega s_aeld orgen-aeman synderlienes user est sweatollic.”
The male nodded his head and added “Geanhwurf aeror he acnawan eower m_aed.”
The woman kissed the man on the cheek and fled through a door at the rear of the stage.
As Quin looks across the stage, he notices a square on the stage that doesn't quite match up with the rest of the stage.
For Quin:
Quin understands the conversation perfectly, and hears: "Petrusi, my beloved, tonight is the night we find our freedom. During your performance, I will hide the key underneath of the flying room. After your descent, get the key and hide it. We'll meet at the gate after the moon rises."
"Oh, Trop'arin. It will be a blessing to be free of that madman, and even more of a blessing to be able to show our love openly."

Quin hops up on the stage. He circles the spot he saw from below. Motioning to the others to join him he says, "Hey come take a look. Did everybody see that!? I think those two were having an affair. Trop'arn," Quin explains as he takes the place of the male ghost, "told Parrish, " he reverses his position to that of the female ghost, "that he would hide a key for her under the flying room." Quin turns to face the others as he backs up to behind the spot he saw before continuing. "I'm betting that this is a trap door for allowing actors to come up from below the stage or for decent. Trop'arn told Petrusi that after her decent she should find the key and meet him at the gate at midnight. This might be our way down." Quin gets down on his hands and knees and tries to trigger the trap door.

(OCC: not sure what check to use. I'll can still use the roll and just change the modifier if you want.)
Then, spotting the same trapdoor that Quin had almost miraculously divined from the elegant syllables of the departed spirits, Balthazar's stare grows even more dumbfounded.
"Did... you just learned a whole language. In less than a minute. From a ghost who doesn't speak common."
Balthazar's esteem of Quin's intelligence roughly doubles. It reminds him of nearly failing draconic class back at the academy, while the half-elven sorcerer in the class aced every test without studying.
Quin gives Balthazar a puzzled look. "I don't understand what you mean. She was speaking common, or at least that's what I heard. If that's not what you heard then maybe when she touched my hand it gave me the ability to understand their language. All I know for sure is that we're looking for a way to get to a lower level and if I'm interpreting that mural correctly then I think this might be the way. Quiller you should take a look here and see if you can do any better with getting this open." Addressing the others he asks, "While we look here maybe the rest can check the area back there and see if there is another way."
"Guess we won't need the hammer then... I will go and have a look. Balthazar, please check for magic. Spirits don't turn up by themself." Lorgar then turns back to search the right wall of the passage on his way to the door at which they first saw the spirit, tapping the wall with his mace along the way, the light from his amulet upon which he cast the Ligth cantrip illuminating his way. When he gets to the door he will turn back again to go to the group, searching the other wall on the way back, tapping it with his mace again.

Quiller grins slightly, "Don't matter 'ow ye bes unnerstandin', just sos the itrepitations is correct. Okay, lemme sees what I ken do wi' that trap door."
He will carefully examine the trap door and, if he finds no traps, attempt to open it.

Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
Davril stays back in the doorway, making sure nothing surprises them while the others search, "It wouldn't be the weirdest thing someone's learned from a spirit, but still plenty odd."
While Quinn is describing the actions of what the spirits said, the male spirit, Trop’arn continues to stare at the door that Petrusi exited through. Suddenly, he turns and looks toward Davril and says “Xyroth, ar eow macung heore?”
Trop’arn suddenly doubles over in pain, with blood beginning to flow out of his gut. He looks up toward Davril and suddenly clutches his chest with one hand, and falls to the floor and vanishes.
Quiller finds no traps on the door. Using their daggers, Quin and Quiller have no trouble prying the trap door open. The space below is fairly dark, although Quiller is able to see a floor about 30 feet below the stage. A pulleys is present in each corner of the opening that has been revealed.
Lorgar does not find any hidden doors along the other walls.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Balthazar spends this time to study the male spirit at a short distance, trying to discern any obvious magical insights or properties connected to the apparition. (Arcana and Investigation have the same modifier for Bal, so just use 18 for whichever is more appropriate.)
Quin rocks back on his haunches as Trop'arn dies and says, "Whoa! Looks like her husband Xyroth found out. No wonder she didn't want me to say anything. Vothrollo, this all wouldn't happen to tie into the history of the artifact we're looking for would it? Anyway, looks like we got some pulleys here. Bet we can use them to lower us down." Quin start to unpack some rope. "How does this sound? Three of us lower the other three down from up here. Once down, the ones below will then lower the three from up top. We go one at a time and that way we lower the risk of someone falling because of a lost grip or having to handle too much weight. Who wants to go first?"
"I'll cover you from up here with my crossbow then follow you down." Says Quin. He portions out just enough rope to reach the botton then works it through one of the pullies. Offering the running end to Lukas and the standing end to Balthazar before unslinging his crossbow. He gives one last piece of advice to Lukas. "Try to stay in the light provided by the opening"
OOC I will note that those without dark vision will be unable to see anything on the lower level. Right now, only Quiller and Davril can even see the floor below you.
Davril moves over to join the others, "Why don't you let me go first, I can handle myself well enough to get support from the rest of you if needed, and more importantly, I can see. I'll head down and light a torch and then the rest of you can follow along. Sound like a plan?"
When the party first tries to loop a rope through one of the pullies, they find that two of the pullies might fall off with any significant weight applied to them. But, the third one that is examined is fairly sturdy. Davril makes it down to the lower level fairly easily, followed by Quiller and Lukas. After the torch is lit, they can see that a raised pedestal is directly underneath the opening. The pedestal is covered with pieces of milled wood and cables. A short flight of stairs leads from the floor to the top of the pedestal.
To the east, a stairway is visible, but, the stairs are covered with boulders and earth. It does not seem like those particular stairs are useable any longer, or at least not without a great deal of effort. Two doors are present in the north wall of the structure. Both doors are falling apart, with pieces of wood missing from them.
