After quickly checking their downed companions, Einhard manages to stabilize them. Dovarax will wake in 3 hours and Esther will wake in 4 hours. (And will then be at 1 hp unless healing is applied before then)
"Well, this has proven a fabulous start to our journey." Ilmryn muttered, hands on hips, as his eyes glanced over his unconscious companions. "What's the next move?" He turns to those who still are conscious, recognizing the need for the group to rally together.
"I do not think putting freshly stabbed people on bumpy wagons is a good thing. This is a campsite and we did just kill or drive off the previous occupants so resting here seems like a good idea. When the others wake up we could push on." Einhard pulls out a quill and parchment.
"Also, I need to document this for...historical reasons. Would you say those bugs are terrifying or gruesome? When I discarded my staff in an obvious sign of contempt for my opponents, was that heroic or daring? Do you think this is the first attempt of a plot by a greater evil to foil our mission or just a precursor to finding a dragon lair?" Einhard continues to make notes and ask wild and inane questions while the unconscious party members rest. During his questioning he also recovers his "discarded" staff.
With the combined efforts of Kildrack and Ilmryn, Dovarax and Esther are easily moved into the campsite and propped up comfortably into a sitting position on some logs. (You are each at one hp and four hours have passed in game.) What are you up to now?
Is she dead? Esther groans as she comes to wincing as she stirs, her heart pounding like the footsteps of a running giant. No, the afterlife would definitely not feel like this.
Instinctively reaching to where it hurts, she winces again at the tender skin. Managing to blink the sleep out of her eyes, Esther glances around at her surroundings. She fails at this. Anaemia has a firm grasp on her, her breathlessness not helping her headache and vertigo. Muttering a scripture that has been engraved into her mind, she feels the ailment fade away and her head clear. She's finally able to take in her surroundings.
But before that, her memories of what happened also piece themselves together. That's right! Those bugs! How is she still alive? She should have died unless... Esther's skin, which has regained some of its colour, turns pale again. Does this mean someone helped her? She doesn't want to owe any debts. Who knows what they'll make her do! What if they already did something to her?! She doesn't know how long she was unconscious, they could have done something shady. She needs to find out what happened.
This time when she glances around, she's able to fully take in her surroundings.

Einhard finished his documenting of the historic battle of the evil infested holy wayfarer's rest...the title is a work in progress. After that Einhard meditated for about an hour. When he finished with that he quickly resumed his questioning about a mysterious connection. Only he seems to sense it and he is truly puzzled how no one else notices what he is talking about.
Once his companions recover he immediately rushes them with questions about their experience. "What was nearly dying like? Did you see a bright light? Was Deneir there? Had he accurately chronicled your life? What is the darkest secret that he scribed that you thought no one else knew?" Even if not given answers he busily scribbles notes on a piece of parchment.
With the sun lazily approaching the western horizon, you each figure you have almost four hours until sunset. Would you all like to continue along the road? Or setup camp here for the night? Or something else?
"ugh my head" Dovarax grabs his head as it was pounding from the blood loss and pretty much dying. "Well now that was embarrassing" He says under his breath, not only had he missed his attack but the bugs were able to nearly kill him. As he fumbles around trying to find his staff, he notices that not only have his party members stitched him up, but they had place his tuff next to him. "That Gundred sure knows how to pick them." He smiles as he pats the bandages that were applied to his wounds.
Taking a moment as no one was looking at him the young Dragonborn uses his sharp onyx claw to to tear the emblem on his chest in two, he had let his clan down and would only fix the patch once he had redeemed himself. As he goes to get his pipe he's flooded by Einhard questions. "Ha,spirited as ever I see" pain shoot up from his arm, "Guess that's still tender". "Just give me some time and I would be happy to answer your questions halfling, it's the least I could do."
He lights his pipe and while holding it in his mouth he looks at Einhard and begins to answer his questions" I know not of this Deneir you speak of but, I can for sure tell you that the old priest in my village was wrong. I did not meet my ancestors in the great hall, there was no feast and no lovely maidens waiting to embrace me." As he exhales the smoke a smirk forms,"I always knew that was too good to be true." He says to himself. "As for what dying was like ... It felt like constantly falling into a dark abyss, that's the best way I can explain it."
As he finishes up answering all of Einhards questions it dawns on him that Esther was also attack, he looks around in a panic and sees that she is ok, but actually she seems to be doing much better than himself, a sigh of relief leaves his body.
He then looks at the party and says "If you guys wouldn't mind I would like to sept up camp here for the night as its been quite a rough day, ill do my best in whatever Im assigned, yet if the majority decides to keep on traveling I will follow even if I have to sleep in the wagon."
OOC: Okay, from now on I'll put Esther's internal thoughts in spoilers as they take up a lot of room xD You're free to read it if you want insight into what she's thinking or whatever
Esther jolts as she notices someone stir near her and gradually inches behind into Dovarax's blindspot to avoid attention before is able to truly gather his thoughts. Frowning as he mutters to himself, she watches as he glances around then fiddles with something in front of him. From this angle, she couldn't see anything. Before curiosity is able to grasp her, Esther swats it away; nothing good ever comes when asking questions. Her gaze trails off as the memories of her past arise.
Promptly shook from her daze, Esther stammers as she's bombarded by Einhard's questions, her cheeks glowing red. Meanwhile, Dovarax calms the halfling down--Esther noting that he flinches--then lights his cigarette and begins answering each of his questions.
She marvels at his composure, the way he explains each point with some extra information in a relaxed and patient manner as if not perturbed by Einhard's invasive questions. Esther wishes she could exuberate that sort of serenity.
Einhard, on the other hand, is the complete opposite of Esther. Striking up conversations with complete strangers, boastfully causing a scene wherever he steps, charging ahead with reckless confidence and asking questions without care for whom it offends. Esther questions whether he actually thinks properly given how rash his actions are. The thought of accidentally blocking someone's way then being beaten as punishment sends shivers down her spine, but asking someone a personal question such as dying?!
Death is sacred and should not be talked about lightly. Each experience will be different and each will lead to their own consequences. There are many different theories; theories which she discovered outside of her practices leading to her current state. She makes a mental note on Dovarax's villages beliefs. Talking about it so half-heartedly. They were barely dead. Close to death but not within its grasp. It made sense that Dovarax didn't see anything because he didn't die. The medicine techniques used proves this.
Esther unties her bandages, scowling at the halfling and Dragonborn pair.
She jolts as the panicking Dragonborn looks around before his slitted eyes land on her, his crinkling scar that sits over his eye relaxing. Her bandages look really interesting at this point as she prays he didn't see her expression.
She doesn't want them to make their move yet. If they saw the way Esther was looking at them, they may deem her as a threat and move their plans of "ambushing then interrogating what she barely knows about the dealings of her former church" forward. Who knows how much torture she could tolerate after just receiving an injury like that? As much as she idolises death, she doesn't want to be anywhere close to joining it!
Her shoulders relax as he doesn't point this out instead, addressing the party on another matter.
He didn't notice? Perhaps the anaemia fogged his head too much that he couldn't see properly? OR he could be pretending not to know but hold a meeting with the others when she isn't looking and tell them what he discovered.
Glancing back at him, Esther squints as if it would make a difference in seeing into his mind. She'll just have to keep an eye on him now...
OOC: Oh wait, I just realised that Esther wakes up after Dovarax, whoops- Sorry for the novel again, lol
Kildrack bellows, “I suppose this is as good a spot as any to camp till tomorrow morning. Let me do a quick sweep to make sure that there aren’t more of those creatures here” With that he sets about during a thorough sweep of the area.
Kildrack makes short work of securing the campsite while Dovarax goes of to look for firewood. It takes about thirty minutes for each task to be accomplished and a fire is quickly started upon Dovarax’s return. Who’s taking first watch?
