"Look! There! That is our enemy! Stop attacking each other, that creature is our mutual enemy!"
Jamespoints at the ghostas it moves from Trex to Vanja, and then to the corner.
Jamesstands up, hoping Vanea doesn't attack him again.
If Jamesisn't restrained again, I would like him to try and move between Vanea/Masthew and Dran/Sedar, to try and circle around and come up towards the ghostfrom the south.
DM, is there anything you want me to do/roll, to have Jamestry that or is the way clear for James? Or should he just try taking the long way, circling round the outside of Vanea/Masthew?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Captain Vanja doesn‘t loose any time, experiencing the ghosts attempted possessing, she tucks away the satchel, grabs her longsword with both hands tries to hit it twice.
Attack: 9 Damage: 4 (hit?)
Attack: 22 Damage: 12 (hit?)
Both slashes leave the ghostly figure slightly distorted. Sedar, the guard, stops attacking the kobolds and takes a defensive stance (dodge action). Speaker Masthew realises the danger of the ghost and tries again to bring some order in the chaotic fighting (14), before he takes a defensive position as well.
“Trex, tell them to stand down!” Gilgin pleads before turning to the ghost, “Cap’n, keep the satchel away from it!” He waves his amulet towards the ghost casting toll the dead DC 12 Wis Save 4 Damage (assuming the ghost is not damaged? If it is then 7 Damage)
The necrotic energy of you spell ripples through the ghost, but it doesn‘t seam to have any effect at all. The kobolds stop fighting, instead they group around Trex and eye anyone who may get to close to their leader. Venea positions herself between the kobolds and the speaker but doesn‘t attack either.
“Captain, throw that book on the floor, let’s burn it to get rid of this ghost!” Hifu either grabs a flame source from the wall if nearby or lights a torch, ready to burn the book. If Captain Vanja throws it down Hifu will burn it. If not, he will dodge from the ghost attacking. I also turn to the Kobolds and Trek and say “We mean no harm to you, the ghost is our enemy! Trek can you tell us anything about him?”
The kobolds keep surrounding their leader, not sure what to do yet. They keep their weapons ready to stab anyone who may get to close to Trex. Grek, who is still next to Kravek, looks from the Goliath to Masthew and to the ghost, unsure what he should do. Trex shakes his head, he still looks a bit disoriented, but in Draconic he says:
Kill ghost, ghost bad.
Dran (the guard) keeps in a defensive stance, between the kobolds and Masthew.
The ghost starts to scream again: „MINE, IT IS MINE!“, but this time his face turns to a horrible grotesque mask.
I need everyone to make a DC 13 Wis save please. On a fail you are frightened and you age 20 years.
Nearly everyone looks like they are frightened. Speaker Masthew and the two Militia guards even to the point where part of their hair lost all color and turned white.
If you fail your initial Wis save, you can repeat it at the END of your next turn.
Nyx and Kravek can still take their turn for this round.
Seeing the ghost more clearly now Kravek will move towards it moving to flank the ghost as James is attacking it. As he moves he finally draws out his hammer streches his arm out behind himself.
Making the last steps to reach the ghost Kravek tries to time his swing to make an overhead smash with his hammer trying to strike through the ghost to drain energy from it as his hammer passes through.
(assuming the wis save is after the turn)
Movement: Moving to the ghost to stand on one side as James is engaged already (using houserule to get +2 tohit onflank) Action: Hammer Attack: 17 Damage: 11 (my bad i applied +2 dmg instead of tohit so 19 to hit and 9 dmg) Save: Wisdom save vs the ghosts attack 13
Dran the guard freezes for a second when he sees the ghost and the strikes the kobold in front of him (K5).
but misses. The last Kobold (#1) joins the fray around Trex and attacks Dran:
The guard looks in really bad shape.
Gilgin knows better than to try to punch a ghost, but in his frustration in the moment he tries anyway.
Attack: 21 Damage: 4
Gilgin Hardhammer - Mountain Dwarf Cleric (Forge Domain) - Icewind Dale
Petal - Forest Gnome Druid (Circle of the Land - Forest) - Unsung Heroes of Embera
Hifu cries out “Captain Vanja, open the satchel, destroy the contents, quick!” He also looks to see how Trek is behaving now.
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
James cries out from the ground.
"Look! There! That is our enemy! Stop attacking each other, that creature is our mutual enemy!"

You need 15 mvs to stand up, so to reach the ghost you need to use the dash action. This gives you enough mvs to walk around all the NPCs.
Perception for the Kobolds if they notice the Ghost DC 5:19
Perception for the Soldiers and Venea: 27
James, you get up and try to shoulder your way through the chaotic fighting. One of the Kobolds (K1) takes a swipe at your knee:
Attack vs James: 20 Damage: 4
To be save, you stay clear of the fighting as much as you can. You get next to the ghost in the corner.
Oh yeah, that's a better idea, thanks.
James starts to run, trying to circle around everyone, to close the distance to the ghost.
As the blade of the kobold catches him, James grunts in pain.
"Please, we have to work together!"
Action: Take the Dash action
Move: 15ft to stand, then 45ft to circle around the others from the south to get closer to the ghost.

Trex looks kind of disoriented.
Nyx telepathically asks the ghost, "Who are you?"
James closes the distance to the ghost and makes his own attempt to disrupt its coherence with a slash from his greatsword.
"Yaahhhh!"
Move: Close the remaining distance to the ghost
Action: Attack the ghost: Attack: 8 - Damage: 9 slashing damage
edit: reroll 1 on damage: 3 (Great Weapon Fighting)
New total damage: 11

The first save is when the ghost uses his attack, so before your turn. But since you passed, there is no problem.
Your attack hits, but it passes through the ghost and only has a reduced impact.
Nyx WIS save: 12
She shoots and Eldritch Blast at the ghost: Attack: 18 Damage: 3 force damage.
