The tiefling gives a dry chuckle: “Caer Dunival lives from the fishing, with a frozen over lake, we struggle to survive. This isn’t the Duergars doing, but Aurils.”
"Kadroth, the soothsayer said that she didn't know exactly where the Duergar were (other than the Spine of the World), but she knew they were forming a great weapon that would attack from the sky. She said that if we found "the son", we may be able to convince him to share - - and that's where she faded away. I think she meant "share the location of the Duergar. Do you know what "son" she's talking about?" Hifu appraised his response and reaction when sharing this information.

“Unfortunately, not much. Her visions were often out of context. My guess would be the son of the duergar leader, but it may as well be the son of a rival. All i know is that he is somewhere within Ten Towns and that he holds some measure of authority within their ranks.”
"Excuse me, while we're in the sharin' mood, you wouldn't happen to know anythin' about Torrga Icevein would ya? Rumored to be behind some killins goin on."
Kree butts in, trying to get some information before the well dries up.
“That pawnshop dwarf? We wouldn’t expect her around for another ten to fifteen days i would say, i would guess she is somewhere around Mear Dualdon at the moment.”
(That is the lake NW of Bryn Shander. Bremen, Targos, Lonelywood and Termalain are on its shores.)
“We’ll have time later for revenge and prophecies.” Gilgin growls “In the ‘ere and now, we got a missing man up in the mountains. His husband’s in bits, and I don’t wanna be coming back with bad news. You seen a man by the name of Keegan come up here? He had a sled, some dogs and a group he was showing up here.”
Hifu chimes in, “Yes, that’s why we originally came here, to find Keegan. Have you heard about him? He was leading a group up here and one of his pack dogs came back into town. But now we have another matter to investigate….”

“I do not remember hearing that name. If this Keegan was here, he didn’t stay for long. If he headed up the mountain, then his last stop would have been Caer-Konig most likely.”
(At least one of you would remember that: You are in Caer-Dunival, Keegans last stop was Caer-Konig. Keegan would only have stoped here if a blizzard would had slowed him down.)
“Should we investigate Caer Koenig first, and then this Easthaven? I feel that we are onto something pretty big here.” Hifu scratches his head and looks to the others for opinions.

Gilgin nods curtly, “Sure. This Duergar threat could be huge, and if they’re in the spine of the world right now, then it’s only a matter of time before they set their greedy eyes on Mirabar. But we made that poor man a promise, and we’re gonna find his husband even if it kills us. You with me?” He looks up to the Tiefling, “Any tips for the journey up to Caer-koenig? We’re not the most seasoned climbers.”
“I am neither good at climbing hills, but i would assume that if you are in doubt, turn around. There is no point in loosing five more lifes on the mountain in an attempt to save one, is there?”
With that your audience is at an end. Keegan tells you that his men will keep on looking for more hints of the Duergar, and he would welcome any information you come across. One of the soldiers escorts you back to the stable where the stablehand from last night helps James to get the dogs ready. (Did you mark of the rations for the long rest and an extra 2.5 for the dogs?) Do you want to hit the road towards Caer-Koenig or do you have want to look for anything else here in Denival?
Kree, satisfied with the information he's gotten, will make his way back with the others, once everything is ready, he'll quickly get his things together and make his way out, following the others.
Hifu gathers his things, ready to head to Caer-Koenig. ((He currently has 10 days rations, enough to go there and back, correct?)) He helps James get the dogs ready.

After a short discussion about your supplies, you agree to top them up in Caer Konig, where you want to talk with local supply store anyway about the missing mountaineers, and so without any further delays you go back on the road northward.
Your luck is much better around today and you got an almost bright day for traveling. While the road barely deserves the name, it is still well marked and you find your heading easily enough to the foothills of Kelvins Cairn, where after three hours of travel you reach a small village, that sits quietly at the foot of Kelvin’s Cairn. Jagged pieces of a ruin of a once impressive fortress pierce out of the snow at the entrance to the village.
A few bundled-up people shuffle between snow-battered houses, keeping their heads down, barely bothering to give you a look as you walk past them.
A pile of snow stirs as you pass it, and someone hidden beneath it suddenly stands. The figure looks around and yells, “Who goes there? Is it thieves? Have I found those creeping bastards?”
When he pulls down the scarf covering his face, you see it is a silver dragonborn holding onto an empty wine bottle as if it was a weapon. He belches, grins at you, and says, “Pardon my manners. Bit jittery with all the thieving going on. I’m Trovus, the town speaker.”
"Trovus you say? Listen, if I was going to be thieving, you'd never know it was me..." Kree will respond, almost insulted. "Could you direct us to your local supply store? We have been traveling for a while and need to restock."
Gilgins eyes widen at Krees near admission of thievery. "Apologies Speaker, this one doesn't speak for us, we're just travelling together for safety.... though I think we'd better check our packs now." He grumbles the last bit as an aside to his friends before shuffling forward and presenting his grubby hand. "I'm Gilgin, and these are my companions."He gestures towards his friends one by one. "The human over there with the dogs is James, Hifu over here is one of your kin and the little one is Nyx. I gotta say Speaker.... I like your style, confronting your problems head on. How about we sit down over a drink, we need some information and might be able to help with your thieving problems. I like to get my information alongside a generous amount of ale and besides.... it's cold as anything out here."
Gilgin looks perplexed, “Then why are your tavern and docks shut? This doesn’t look like a thriving town, you are hiding away in this fortress, why?”
He looks the man up and down for any sign that he’s holding something back. Insight 16

Nyx follows along, still unsettled about the iced-over corpse, but nothing much she can do about that right now.
Gilgin sets out for the journey ahead, but he realises his ration supply is empty. He will have an ask around where he can get some before leaving.
