Aðalsteinn makes a small camp for himself and stretches out after the cramped ride in the wagon. To move around a bit after setting up the camp, he clears the area near were Belvarax's to make setting up camp easier.
"I suppose so Adorabella. I too am used to early mornings helping with the orchard work. As my father always said "Early to bed and early to rise makes a gnome healthy and wise". And please, call me Lefse."19
"Rolo, thank you for taking watch with me. It'd be hard for me to do alone, my eyes are not so keen at night. Thanks also for preparing the food. It smells wonderful." Belvarax watches and some time helps Rolo with cooking dinner, paying mind to not get in the way. After the prep work is done, he grabs his pipe and packs it full of tobacco. Taking a moment to verify that all the prep work is done he looks around to the group and offers a drink from his cask, and then pours one for himself. He takes a seat off to the side of the fire, where he laid out his bedroll and lights the pipe.
As Rolo is watching the food cook Belvarax leans toward him, "So how is it that you have come into the service of Gundren?" He then leans back takes a few puffs of his pipe and awaits an answer.
Jargrax stays away from camp, watching around them. Seeming to be oblivious to the others in the camp. His only sign of life was turning to look at the cooking pot when the food's smell hits him.
Jargrax first watch passes without incident and he looks on Belvarax veritable bounty of gathered food with disdain as Belvarax sets about making a comfortable campsite for all.
Second watch also passes without incident thanks to the combined watchfulness of Rolo and Belvarax... two sets of eyes being better than one in this case.
Finishing his duty and walking into camp to pause looking at Onyx for a long while, carefully looking over the horse but not approaching it or touching it. "Fine beast."
Seeing Jargrax coming back into camp and knowing that it is his turn to watch with Rolo, Belvarax states, "There is some food left, we kept it warm for ya. At least as best we could with out risking over cooking. You should eat, there is plenty here."
He then takes a good look around camp, and speaks to Rolo, "Rolo, there are a few trees around that look good to be perched in for keeping watch. Help me find a good one and I will boost you up."
Rolo turns to Belvarax and says, “I know Gundren for some time now, he helped me when I first came to Neverwinter. In the beginning I didn’t know anyone and I was trying to look for work and then Gundren told me he could help me by promoting me as a pit/cage fighter. And so I was able to make some money, for some time…now there are not so many fights in Neverwinter. I took this job because I think it is time to move from Neverwinter and maybe in Phandalin I can make some money with the fights… And if I can get paid to do some bodyguarding job on my way there, well that is great!”
He also goes, “Yes, sure I can help you with that tree thing.”
Sitting by the fire and getting his food, making sure he didn't get greedy and take too much. Then moving away to a dark patch of grass. Eating slowly and methodically till it was gone and scraping absolutely every bite he could before laying down.
Waking up early and getting up to make sure everything is well, peeking in on the others making sure no obvious signs of attack or harm and checking the animals. Seeing no sign of trouble, starts feeding the campfire to help start breakfast. He wouldn't tell them but dinner was delicious, so much better then frozen squirrels and random leaves he usually had. Looking around, hoping no one notices him as he sneaks a few apples from the supplies. Going to the beasts of burden and Onyx and giving them each one. "Good beasts, you did well yesterday. Today, we will do better."
Belvarax comes too about the time that Jargrax is tending to the animals, and pays little mind to it other than the fact that he himself does not have to do it. He then picks up his bed roll and packs it away for another days travel.
”Hey Jargrax , I’m going to go forage for breakfast. I’ll be back in a little bit.”
After sometime he returns with a modest amount of vegetation and meat to make a meal with.
Belvarax is gone from camp for about an hour and a half and returns with enough food for the entire group. (Saying sunrise was roughly six am, I’ll say it’s just before eight am.)
Aðalsteinn rolled up his pack and made sure his rigging was secure. Afterward, he re-ignited a small fire in preparation to cook anything Belvarax cooked up, making sure that the flame was low and the coals were hot. in some of his idle time while waiting for the others, Aðalsteinn idly poked his stick in the fire and pondered.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Adorabella pops around the copse of trees, finishing her final watch stroll and stretch just in time to see Jargrax with the oxen and Onyx. Her first instinct is to bark out a message to move away, for safety reasons, Onyx is a trained combat beast after all, but Onyx's ears were at ease so she bit her tongue.

She keeps what she perceives to herself.
Letting out a melodious whistle, Adorabella heads toward Jargrax & Onyx; while rubbing her nose, she smiles at him, "Yes, Onyx is a lovely steed, she's been well trained & quite the pride source for me! Our clan has a close relationship with a ranger cluster in the forests below our mountain, they have shared their training styles and they make very durable and smart combat ponies!" She smiles with great affection and beams at Jargrax, her horse is the easiest way for her to communicate with others. "Jargrax, we're starting breakfast, thank you for checking on the critters, they're so important for this journey. I'm sorry for my brusque nature yesterday, I don't stay around many folk for long travels, it's been a rather lonely road here as the wandering cleric accountant." Self-deprecating smile, "But the weather today is lovely & I'm anticipating to get reconnected with Gundren. What has your life been like on the road?"
Jargrax looks down at the Dwarf as she approaches, listening to her till she is done. "Beasts should be cared for. If they fall or get injured, we would be crippled. I prefer the larger more stubborn ones, because I have to worry less about them. I used to care for some long ago when I was a hatchling, they were large furry creatures that lived in the icy mountains. Never had a name for them, but they are probably all dead now. Never apologize for who you are, if other dislike it they can suffer. Care little about others, only care about yourself. I haven't had much of a life on the roads. Spent most of it training and preparing for war, then spent years recovering and working, then surviving as best I could. Which was piss poor, I wasn't taught to survive alone." Looking back at the animals, "Life would have been easier if I died on those mountains, but I didn't. So now I will grow stronger and strike back."
Belvarax arrives with plenty of food for the whole group, including fresh water. he begins to sort out the meats, greens and other foods. "Rolo, are you good to cook again? He then heads to the fire to tend to it and make it good for cooking.
Adorabella teases Jargrax with a smile, "Oh Jargrax you are a big softie! Most folks ignore the beasts here, I'm glad there's another who cares about these lovely burdened animals! I'd love to see your beasts from your childhood, you painted such a good picture of them, and maybe there are still some in the mountains, I shall have to ask my dwarf elders when I next write home." Adorabella checks over Onyx for basic morning ritual cleaning. "Jargrax, would you check those oxen hooves? I don't want a small stone or hard ground to wedge it's way up the hooves. I will do Onyx's brush over." She gets industrious for a moment, in companionable silence as she processes how to respond to the rest of his comment.
Continuing to rub on Onyx, who in returns is nuzzling her, Adorabella looks softly at Jargrax, "I am glad you are not dead on that mountain, it is as the dwarves say, 'iron sharpens iron, and so one dwarf sharpens another' and while you are not a dwarf, one who rubs up against my academic knowledge of the world only does me good, as a testament to my faith." She smiles gently, lightly taps his shoulder, and hearing the cooking, "Jargrax, I will leave you to your work but I do mean as I said. I am glad you are not dead, your value is more than you see." Adorabelle walks to pack up her bedding and hears Aðalsteinn's question and listens at the fire to Rolo.
