I guess that when you have been to as much tavern fights as I have, you realize that you can and should be able to use everything around you as an advantage.
Darts are very silent weapons and are great to bring down enemies without them to notice you… they are also excellent for piercing through those shiny armors…
I actually became very good with darts from hunting rats to eat, taking fruits from trees…even fishing…
Jargrax grumbles as the Dwarf walks away, his already starting to take care of the ox's hooves. Muttering in dragon, "Bossy thing isn't she? Telling me to care for you and only pampering her horse. At least I know you are spoiled like that horse, I will eat it long before you." Thinking hard about the Dwarf's words, had anyone be glad toward him? Ever? The mountain was simple, obey orders. Now, it was so much more confusing and complicated.
"Wow Rolo! I've never used darts in those ways! I've only seen the elders use them for festival contests, but they're much larger darts, and they're kinda just thrown up in the air and they aim for grass targets. They're much heavier and a bit ornate!" Adorabella takes a peek towards Jargrax, and while she can't tell if he's grumbling, she does see him talking to himself, and she smiles a little. At least he's thinking about his value, goddess above, she didn't totally botch it - so far.
She takes part in the breakfast, tidies up with the rest, makes sure Jargrax gets a portion while it's still hot, then loads Onyx for the road. She's ready to see family again, it's been too long since she's been around any clansfolk, and that small taste of family familiarity just teased her loneliness, without appeasing.
"Is everyone ready? I'd love to get closer to Phandalin today!" She beams and starts to walk with the oxen, on the left.
It doesn’t take long to break camp with all of you working together and before long you are back on the road toward Phandalin. The breeze is gentle and makes for a mesmerizing sight as you travel through the rolling hills and grassy plains. Is there anything you all are doing during the second day of travel?
Once again driving the wagon and comanding the beast the pull it, Belvarax packs his pipe and lights it up. He then takes out his second cask of ale and pours him self a drink. Being that no one has been taking him up on the offers from the day before, he puts it back in his bag and continues to drive.
Belvarax sees only the gently swaying of the grassy hillsides in the light breeze and the gentle chirping of various birds flitting about. Nothing potentially dangerous at the moment ... at least not yet.
Jargrax sits on the front bench keeping a eye out and talking to Belvarax. "I hope we get to Phandalin, the longer we stay outside the more I expect to be attacked. We are a large target and without a caravan are a easy target. If you see anything odd, no warning shots."

Adorabella is walking to the close left of the wagon, keeping pace, and moving to the back of the wagon to allow other travellers to pass in the opposite direction, if they appear. Otherwise she finds it most comfortable to ride middle/front and to the left of the cart.
She turns to Jargrax & Belvarax, "Are we going to attempt to out manuever attacks or approach with caution? I'm not one to shoot first and ask later, unless harm is being threatened; it never seems to end well for any invovled. But I would like a basic plan of intent. I am no long range pre-emptive archer, I offer healing and a warhammer."
She then loosens the shield and slings it to her left at rest but easily engaged if peril, & reassures herself with a touch of her white floral emblem & a silent prayer to the Mother.
She rides with the ease of a long lone traveller and channels her mother's warrior courage. She's not the daughter of the most beloved warrior for nothing.
Aðalsteinn takes his place in the wagon itself with the equipment and checks things over to make sure everything is in its place. As they make their way down the trail, Aðalsteinn keeps a lookout behind.
As he catches Adorabella speak to Jargrax & Belvarax and jumps into the conversation saying, "I can keep them at a distance with my bow if it comes to it."
"I have a crossbow, if need be. I prefer to kill with blade but I am trained with the bow." Pulling out a very old and rough looking crossbow from his pack. The wood looks dry rotted and the string starting to fray. "I have done the best I can with it, but my blade needs less care." Looking at Adorabella, "If we see anything we aren't sure of, we treat it as a enemy. If you wish to speak to them, then be faster than my shot. Raids only take minutes to succeed or fail. Trust me about this, mercy is only for cities and towns."
“Fast judgment will have to be at play, however good guys don’t hide in bushes or trees awaiting a bounty off the road. I suggest that if you see hostile creatures or individuals that you call them out. I have some quick skills that I can use to deal with them at a distance.” Belvarax addresses the group with his comments.
”Jargrax, if you think you could put it to better use, you can use my cross bow. It is hardly been used and in good repair.” Belvarax reaches for his crossbow and loosens it from his pack.
Despite a light mist in the late afternoon, the day passes uneventfully. As sunset approaches, would you all like to make camp for the evening or press on?
Looking to Jargrax, “I agree, let’s keep it loaded and in reach of both of us. That way either of us can use it if we see anything funny.”
”I suggest we break for camp. I will find food, and now that we are one less traveler it will be easier and shouldn’t take as long either.” Belvarax refers to Mariah’s spot in the wagon.

Adorabella feels refreshed from another day in saddle, being out in nature has always helped keep her head clear, people are hard; her dwarven city beautiful in it's own right, and she would never tell her parents how much she preferred being out and about seeing more than those stone walls could ever contain.
"I will assist with the animals as we make camp, unless you wish to have time with the oxen Jargrax?" She shoots a fleeting smile of knowing his way, before ducking her chin and looking away.
Between the three of you, you find a reasonably sheltered entrance to a shallow outcropping. Is there anything you all would like to discuss amongst yourselves? Who will be taking watch when?

Taking the crossbow and checking it and nodding, "We can keep it in the front, and loaded. That way I can quickly fire if needed."
