Lyss’a dagger flies through the air, piercing into the goo. It recoils slightly as the dagger strikes it, though it is soon enveloped into the sludge, corroding away into nothingness.

Edvord had been wandering through the street, thinking to himself, whilst following the lead of his newfound friends. Maybe friends isn't the right right word. Newfound acquaintances. That seems more appropriate.
During the walk Edvord shared some of his musings with the group. Aldrik is right, the Mermaid has a pretty strict dress code. But Cico's suggestion that the younger members could be servants does have some potential. Perhaps Aimee with her background at the temple of Oghma could serve as an apprentice to Edvord, and young noblemen such as Aldrik commonly have a squire. After mentioning these ideas Edvord began planning out the potential next stops to acquire the appropriate disguises.
Lost in thought Edvord entirely missed the conversation with the Waterdavian dung-slingers. Soon enough the oozes show their true color. As combat starts and Lyss' dagger is corroded into nothingness, Edvord looks down longingly at his ornate rapier. Sometimes even brief contact with such entities like this can quickly corrode fine metal, but on the other hand magic could be completely ineffective.
Before making a move, Edvord attempts to match the appearance of the oozes with any information regarding defensive capabilities he can recall from his recent schooling.
From the back Edvord shouts to the rest of the group, his voice free of stuttering booms with authority,"Lightning and slashing damage will multiply our problems! Somebody get the workers out of here!"
You watch as the man quickly removes a small wooden arcane focus from his backpack before uttering a few words in draconic under his breath, casting grease. A pool of slick grease covers the ground immediately in front of the ooze, forming a ten foot square of difficult terrain that it must traverse if it wishes to pursue its prey.
"That should buy us a little bit of time. Best we fight this at range."Edvord shouts as he walks back 15 feet from the ooze, for a total of 35 feet away from the monstrous mass.
Cico looks from the grease to the ooze back to the grease and then to Edvord.
"That does make it harder for us, but will it slow down a creature made of oily ooze?" Cico says then looks down at his hands and the short sword at his side. "It is difficult to throw my hands from a distance."
You see the poor boy’s remains fold up into a ball, melting away inside the goo. It seeps over the grease left by Edvord, taking up the whole area of the grease as approaches Cico, mere inches from his face. It seems slowed by the grease but at no risk of slipping. As it’s about to lunge at him, it reels back from Aimee’s blast.
Cico looks curiously at the creature for a moment, watching where the boy disappeared, as well as noting how little the grease seemed to affect its movement.
"I don't think the grease is bothering it," he says the reaches out to touch the ooze but at the last second decides not to make contact. The dissolving dagger, broom stick, and boy are warning enough.
Finally, with Aimee's voice bringing his mind back to the urgency of the situation, Cico hops back out of the way, moving 45' back up the street to give him time to think. He then reaches for a dart from a hidden fold in his belt.

Aldrik looks up to Mouse, his hands still holding the horse's lead. Didn't want to make the others feel less important by having to walk when he and Edvord could ride, so he led Mouse along the roads. Anger glares in his eyes as the ooze swarms near Cico.
"I did NOT just spend two days straight playing contract negotiator just so they could die to a pile of shit..."
Bonus Action: I would like to Rage!
He takes ahold of the saddle and pulls himself up. With a smooth motion he pulls the long lance from its saddleside harness, giving it a horizontal spin in his hand above his head to position it correctly. The ribbons that Evey had tied to the base of the steel lancehead trail behind, blue and gold bright in the air. He kicks Mouse's sides with a shout as he spins the lance, and the horse charges.
Move: Mount
Mouse Action/Move: Dash, charging to within 10 feet of the ooze then continuing on to 45-50 feet on the opposite side, staying outside of 5 feet.
As he passes by the creature he slams down the lance, an overpowering if inelegant blow.
Action: Reckless Attack: 17 Damage: 17
Mouse rears up as Aldrik directs him to spin back after charging away, and he levels the lance ready for another strike.
A crowd starts to form, staying a good way around, cheering as Aldrik swings by on his horse.
Kerri’s bolt just goes wide of the Ooze as Aldrik’s lance plunges into it. The Ooze seems to be lacking energy a little, halfheartedly lashing out at the horse it can’t quite reach. As Aldrik readies his lance again, he notices it fizzle a little, it’s end dulled from contact with the Ooze. (Take a permanent -1 to damage rolls with this weapon)

Edvord looks back at the growing crowd and the scattered nature of the party, and sighs. "Looks like we have a crowd... time to perform."The man reaches down to the side of his pants and almost grabs the rapier before he sees the enamored pommel with the Reinholdt crest. Shouldn't get this destroyed. He quickly reaches into his backpack and draws his dagger.
Bonus Action: Activate Bladesong
Using his increased movement, Edvord who is already [feat]mobile[/feat] attempts to use his increased speed to cover the 25 feet between himself and the slime, attempt to strike the slime with a flourished booming blade, and quickly dance back to where he started.
Booming Blade Dagger Attack: 20 Damage: 5
After missing with his attack, Edvord dances back to where he was previously standing. Hearing Lyss yell that she is out, Edvord looks around to spot the halfling, but fails to see her. He yells out, "Lyss, there is a sling in my pack... if you can hear me."
