A red mop of hair whips around from the front of the carriage, as he calls back in a loud goofy drawl. ”Oh hey Miss! Didn’t see ye there, boy you sure can whistle good. Jump on the back and you can get a ticket from my bro.” You approach the carriage, a glassed in cabin with a few passengers with a second level open to the air. A similar looking, yet a little more reserved man to the driver is standing at the stairs to the back with a ledger and cash tin. Four horses lead the dray, one of which has a purple flower behind her ear.
The blackstaff shrugs at Aimee, turning back to her desk. “ The decision is yours Aimee, you’re free from the temple, now it’s time to make your own decisions. Just…. Make them outside of the room please I have work to do.”
Cico looks from the half-orc to the waiter and then back to the half-orc. Lady Gralhund sounds familiar, he thinks to himself.
"Alright," Cico finally says and steps through the open doorway, squeezing past the massive half-orc, continuing in a quieter voice as he does so. "You do know that I'm not one of the Lady's personal assistants, yes?"
Amelia thinks for a moment as she braids her hair. “Hmm, anyone in blue? Well, if I did I never would have thought much of it. The owner here’s a mystery all in himself, I don’t know if anyone’s ever seen him. But your story sounds familiar…. I believe Old Charlie boy had a similar experience. Vague and potentially misleading riddle left behind? Last I heard he’d found an alley in the Sea ward with blue tiles, swore to death his treasure was in there behind a gold door. Well, it probably was to his own death he swore, he took some sellswords to investigate and hasn’t come back since. I think they just killed him and took the gold.”
Aldrik nods. "Well, he was always kind of a buffoon anyway. Was his riddle left by a magic mouth spell? Maybe we've barked up the wrong tree here, or maybe he's trapped in some sort of creepy secret dungeon of sadistic games filled with like, evil puppets or something. Regardless, tonight is a good chance to cross paths with some power players, maybe find another noble willing to front the coin for the tavern without Mirt's fees."
The half-orc follows Cico in, smirking. “Yeah I know, but they were gonna kick you out and I know what you know. SPY.”
As he marches you into the guest room he announces. “M’lady, found this one creeping around the room. Says he’s after an artefact for someone, should I rough him up a bit, find out what he knows?”
Lady Yalah Gralhund leans stiffly on a lounging chair draped in an eloquent black dress. Her piercing green eyes flit around for a second as if calculating at a thousand miles per hour. “No” she finally responds “Let’s hear what the little spy has to say first. Tell me… who sent you?”
Cico looks at Lady Gralhund and then at the half-orc. He blinks a couple of times while running his thumb along the side of his index finger. Counts to three quietly to himself, though his lips move slightly, then he takes a deep breath.
"I am thin, yes," Cico says "but I am not little. And I have been a spy but not today."
He pauses, and remembers his social training. He bows slightly to Lady Gralhund, and ignores the half-orc.
"I am Cico Silentleaf of the Harvest Road Abbey," he says. "Master Ce Treewhirl sent me. She is also not a spy nor little. But is concerned about what is happening in this city."
He looks around the room for any sign of Mirt's trinket, thinking quickly as he does. They would not ask who sent me if they knew I was looking for the unicorn, he thinks to himself.
"You do not have what you're looking for, nor what I seek" Cico finally says. He nods his head back at the half-orc. "You seek an artifact or he would not have mentioned it. If I find this artifact could you tell me who would steal a trinket from Mirt the Moneylender?"
"Yeah, the Lady Lyss bit was great! I was probably going to say something back to her that would have caused a fight."
When he pulls out the handkerchief, her eyes go wide.
"WHAT'S THAT?!"
She ignores the glittery dress for now.
"Wow, really!?", her eyes go even wider at the pouch of coins, and her hands are reaching for it before she gets a twinge.

Amelia nods, “Yes, something along those lines. Did you get it wrong Aldi? And you are… suprised? There, there now, maybe you should leave the thinking to others.” She teases.
Lady Gralhund glances over at her bodyguard before locking her eyes onto Cico’s. Her gaze cuts through you, you can feel her anger though her smile remains “Well well, old Mirt is sending spies after me? I must say, I am flattered but I haven’t taken his toys.” Her tone is flat, courteous but with a vindictive growl. “ I think it’s high time that people started to treat the Gralhund name with the respect it deserves. People really think they can just come in here to quiz me about a minor theft. A peasant like you, without even the thought to hide your pitiful status behind a half decent shirt. Hrabbaz, hold him.” The half orc guard reaches out to hold your arm in place, his grip is vicelike. Grapple check 14

Nevercott just shakes his head with a chuckle at your accusations. “What spirit! I bet that little trick has got you out of many a sticky situation, now, put the knife away. If you don’t want the money, just say.” He slowly starts putting the pouch back.
Insight check - this guy really doesn’t give much away, but you can be pretty sure he’s not a pervert. He sure does seem to enjoy dangling that money in front of you though. He seems pretty confident, at ease really, as if he doesn’t really mind if you do his bidding or not.
"Sure thing! I'm going to go help, which house was he messing with? And have fun tonight! Nice to meet you!"
She heads out to find Cico.
(If the blackstaff doesn't tell her who Cico is bothering): She turns to the two guarding the door and asks them,
"Hey! Did either of you see a tall elf guy that walks really stiff and talks about the same level of stiff walk by?"
She changes her face to look like him.
"Looks like this?"
She keeps the smile off her face to try and look as Cico like as she can.
If they point her in any direction she will go that way, keeping Cico's face on and asking people if they have seen someone that looks like this walking around.
(If the blackstaff does help by telling her who Cico is with Aimee will instead ask a waiter where they are and go there, no face changes.)
"I mean, of course I'd like the money, but no one just gives away money, even folks that toss it to the poor do it so their friends can see them do it. You aren't. So you must want something else. You do know if I walk back to the Manor with a big sack of gold, the others are gonna want to know where I got it, right?"
"The last guy we talked to about money wanted a share of the business and to get it named after him, so if you're angling for Nevercott Tavern, it's not happening. Trollskull is too great to change!"
Nevercott grins, “Feel free to tell them, your friends are my friends after all. I know it’s hard to believe, but some people just want to help. I just hope you will also help me if ever I’m in need. No need to name the tavern after me or anything, just remember I did you this favour.”
Aimee, the mages point at a door down the hallway and past the stairs, you hear a click as the door locks.
"Okaaaay... you don't even want to be repaid, just giving me the money? Or is this like hiring us in advance? I think Aldrick would call that a 'retrainer'."
"We should do this dress thing, I'm 'sposed to look presentable."

"Bah. Just because my scheme selling fine cooked sausages wrapped in equally fine breads outside of the Yawning Portal was a bust. No matter." He glares at Edvord, before shouting, "Lady Lysslin, are you about through getting dressed up? We'll meet you out in the hall, to let our sister have her space. She must prepare for her big debut."
As Aldrik and Edvord leave, he speaks a side comment to Edvord just loud enough that Amelia surely hears. "Hey, Edvord. Didn't Ames's braid remind you of Butterbell's? Same exact pattern. I didn't know horsehair was the prevailing fashion, but you know a dullard like me certainly doesn't pick up on Waterdeep's latest fashion trends."

Cico's reactions are slowed by all of the social interaction he's had to endure today. His brain needs to get into gear or his half-orc was going to crush him. He could only imagine the disappointment on Master Treewhirl's face.
As Hrabbaz grabs onto Cico and begins to circle him with those large, meaty arms, Cico does his best to dodge and slip through the half-orc's clutches.
