Keeping calm, he recalls his technique, his training in the darkest of places. He reaches out with his foot and feels the safety of earth beneath him.
Aimee blasts at the other Mephit, and it seems to recoil, flying to reconvene with those around Aldrik.
Aldrik feels himself lurch forward as Cico lets go of the rope. His overextension throwing him off balance on the precarious disc. As Lyss's arrow flies just short of a mephit, it breaths cindery ash in Aldrik's face yet again.

The other Mephit takes the opportunity to slash at Aldrik with its claws. Attack: 21 Damage: 6
The third Mephit with a nasty scorch from Aimee flies over to pile in on Aldrik Attack: 23 Damage: 5

Lyss will send another arrow at a mephit on Aldrik, if she can conceivably hid behind someone or something to be able to take an unexpected attack from an unanticipated position, she'll do so.

Edvord likewise loosens another stone from his sling towards the most injured Mephit the remains harrying Aldrik. He calls out to the group, "Someone should have told me we were adventuring.. Instead I brought my spellbook for the ball!"
@Lyss - That is a yes as you are able to hide behind your allies as a halfling.
Lyss's arrow finds something solid, and the mephit explodes in a cloud of smoke engulfing Aldrik. Zauberjager eagerly gets a slash in on one of the other mephits as it is stuck by a sling bullet, but it only just nicks it.
2 left - 1 with 10 damage done, 1 unharmed.
Aldrik is amongst smoke, unable to see surrounded by 2 Mephits.

And he swings the platform clear of the mephits until he can get an eye on the path down to make a jump.

Aldrik swings his way between platforms, struggling to judge his jumps through clouds of smoke. As he reaches the last disc he feels it - he’s hit the wrong angle. Knowing that waiting any longer will send him flat against the wall, he slides off early, flying feet first towards the ledge. His trajectory takes him in just a smidge too low and his feet strike the edge of the ledge. He feels himself falling backwards, smoke licking at him, beckoning him towards his death. Just all seems lost, he feels a tug at the rope. A moment of scrambling and pulling and he rolls up over the ledge. The smoke Mephits watch on, as they begin to descend back into the pit, their interest gone.
Everyone else sees Aldrik's jump land short, a grunt of exhalation from the man as he surely hit the sidewall and plummeted to his doom.
Then, a fine elven rapier clatters up from the edge of despair, landing at the feet of the group. Moments later, the nobleman hoists himself up via the rope secured by Cico.
He stands and rushes Cico, the reserved elf surely not expecting the momentous bear hug. "Hah! My friend, that is truly a favor I'll take a lifetime to repay!"
He sets down Cico then picks up the rapier, brushing himself off. "Now, shall we kill a mage?"
Edvord responds in a matter of fact tone, "You would not believe what you can pick up at the library... especially in the restricted books section at night."
Edvord turns and walks back towards the room with the piles of gold with a little extra gusto to his step, as if he owned the place. Over his shoulder the wizard yells, "Come along Aimee, it is time to acquire an extra spellbook."
Aldrik raises his hand, and catches Zauberjager as it flies into his grip. "Well done, my friend. Now, let's get to business."Zauberjager enters his belt opposite the rapier, and the walking armory of Aldrik begins to trod after Edvord.
He turns to Kerri, and gives her a nod. "Shall we?" as the man follows his brother.
Before we entered this room, the unicorn informed you that the way out was on the other side of the fake gold room. In terms of rooms, you've been through every door that you know of. Unless some clue here has given you any reason to believe otherwise, the alley is fully explored, save the exit.
