A visibly flustered Edvord nods to his brother, then sets the potion back into his pack. "To my knowledge these have never belonged to any wizard, I would like for you to have them."
Edvord uncomfortably continues to hold the bouquet of flowers towards Kerri.
Cico frowns slightly as he watches Edvord proffer the flowers to Kerri. He turns to the others.
"Is he seeking to start a romantic relationship with Kerri?" Cico asks, signs of confusion still on his face. "I do not think she reciprocates those feelings."
He looks more intently at Edvord.
"I think you should say more than that you would like her to have those." Cico says then pauses, his lips visibly moving as he silently counts to 5. "Master Treewhirl cautions that actions alone can be misunderstood."
Edvord by now has gone from slightly flustered, to confused, to extremely agitated. His face turns a bright red, "Look, this was Aldrik's idea of mending fences. My interest in this interaction goes no further!"
Edvord drops the flowers on the floor and heads for the door.
Kerri is halfway to taking the flowers with a, "Thank..." before Cico's comment has her whole face turning a bright shade of red. She lets the flowers fall and turns away with a huff.
"Roses, Cico. Roses are for romancing a lady. Sunflowers are for brightening someone's day, and lilies imply pure intent. And both tend to be flowers that enjoy the light of day, befitting Kerri's source of magic. I figured it would be an apt apology, even if I had to drag Edvord kicking and screaming to any event where his nose isn't dusted by some ancient forbidden tome."
He opens up the parcel the rest of the way, revealing a little vase that the flower stems are set in, and places it on the counter before filling the vase with some water from his waterskin.
To Kerri, "On behalf of both of us, I am sorry my brother is an ass."
"Roses for romance, sunflowers brighten a day, lilies pure intent," Cico says, touching a finger when he name each flower. He opens his mouth about to ask which flowers signal ulterior motives but as Aldrik proffers the flowers again to Kerri, Cico closes his mouth.
A small crate in the corner of the room giggles, before vanishing, revealing Lyss watching with shining eyes.
"On the streets, if you want to apologize, you share your food with someone. I don't know what you do to romance... Probably also share food, so mebbe not helpful."
"You see that? I did MAGIC!", she crows as she twirls about.

To Cico's first comment about starting a relationship Aimee nods,
"Ya, just like in the books! He totally should have done better though! Unless he is going for the bumbling fool angle? Never saw the appeal myself, but whatever floats Kerri's boat!"
She just watches the flowers drop, then get picked up and put back. Nodding along with Cico.
She spins when Lyss pops out and claps happily,
"Wooo! I wish I could be a box too! That was great! What else can you do?"
On love,
"In the cloister if you were in love you had to sneak down to the archives! If any of the masters or mistresses found out they'd toss you out! Unless it was down in the archives with Master Grevkin, then HE got kicked out!"
She thinks briefly,
"We've got a basement, that's kinda like the archives? Kerri, wanna see if Eddy wants to take you down there?"
Kerri's face turns an even deeper shade of red at Aimee's questions. Finally she stammers out, "Well.... it would be nice to hear those words from your brother's mouth but he seems unable to speak them in that order."
He looks to the chalkboard, and gives a wave at where he assumes Lif is. "Hello, Lif! I'd like you to meet someone."
Aldrik slides Zauberjager out from his belt, allowing the sword to float freely. "Zauberjager, Lif's our friendly ghost pal. Lif, Zauberjager's a magical flying sword. After a bit of battle of wills and brawn, they have joined our cause. They'll fight alongside us, particularly if we hunt out any evil mages in Waterdeep. But in the meantime, I figure they could be a good companion and help in the tavern."
Lif writes notes on the chalkboard dutifully, drawing a shrugging stick figure when Cico asks about the unicorn. As the topics of items found in the alley come up, he draws piles of gold next to them.
Edvord steps out of the tavern, his vial of disgusting liquid in his hands. As he considers his social mistakes with Kerri, the sounds of the alley are distracting. A commotion down the street, footsteps, “Fu-“, a bang, a scorching heat.
Aldrik lets go of Zauberjager and it clatters to the floor. In that moment, you all hear a loud bang from the street outside. The beautiful stained glass windows shatter into the tavern, leaving the floor covered in shards of glass. Two charred human bodies, one male, one female are hurled through landing at your feet. Flaming debris, newspapers and sweet pastries fly through alongside them threatening to set alight the wooden tables and bar.
Edvord just makes it back through the tavern doors, slamming them shut. Flames lick through the gaps, scorching the wood. (Avoided taking damage - nice one.)
Edvord’s rapier sheds moonlight barely discernible in the morning sun. Through the cracks he can see the charred street. Bodies litter the cobbled pavement and locals are trying to extinguish flames on the destroyed facades of the buildings. You hear distressed screams and shouts.

"Zauber..." Aldrik starts, before hell breaks loose.
As the sword clatters and Aldrik feels the pressure wave, he tries to impose himself between the window and the girls, diving into a roll and standing before them. (Dex Save: 10)
As the people land and Edvord begins shouting, Aldrik has his fine greatsword out. "Kerri!" he shouts. "You will be needed this day!"
He does not wait. He bursts through the door, sword ready, and first looks for Mouse, who was tied outside...
Aldrik steps on to the street, soot and ash fill the air. The first thing he sees is Mouse, just outside of the blast zone, though all the products used in Amelia’s grooming seem to have ignited, singing off most of it’s hair leaving the horse looking like some kind of giant Chihuahua. Mouse seems to have extinguished the flames, and looks only aesthetically and morally hurt.
Closest to the door lies the first of nine more scorching corpses. A gnome in a burned cloak, clutching a dagger. Just behind is the body of a human in a dark cloak and leather armour, similar to the man who was flung through the window. You notice the pommel of a longsword poking out from his hip and a flying snake tattoo on his wrist. Dotted around are two human and one half elf body in plain clothes. On the corner, are four halfling bodies, two females holding a scorched flute and fiddle respectively and two males in the middle of a familiar circle commonly set up for dancing, a human child kneels over their bodies, desperately trying to shake them awake as his eyes stream with tears. Outside ‘Corellon’s Crown’, the owner - Fala, stands in their doorway, their mouth agape. A female noble lingers outside ’The Tiger’s eye’ looking on with a mix of fear and intrigue.
