Outside. Edvord's order of priority with his remaining time before the police arrive: administer the healing potions, check out the sword outside if it appears uncommon, retreat back into the tavern.

Cico moves to the dead gnome and kneels beside the body. He looks from the gnome to the Trollskull Manor and back again. He looks more closely at the muck on the clothes, touching it with a finger.
Cico rubs the muck between two fingers, then smells the substance as well. "Were you the source of this or the target?" Cico says to himself. "Was this stuff meant to protect you?"
Investigation/Nature/Arcana (all the same mod): 16
Regardless of what he finds out about the muck on the gnome, Cico tears off part of the sleeve of the gnomes shirt, wrapping up some of the muck in it and puts that in his pocket to take a closer look at later.
Aldrik approaches the noblewoman, arms out in a non threatening posture, and begins to weave in some doublespeak that she should understand. "My dear Lady, I would never let fly to any little bird that one such as yourself has begun to search the Trenches of Waterdeep for lost Ravens, as who knows how those birds may sing. But in exchange for such kindness I must know what you saw, as I know you saw something on that roof that had you scared. Help me find the villain that burned those poor folk, and your family will stand tall."
He begins to usher her away from the street line of sight.
The noblewoman looks a little confused, looking you up and down. “It was.. strange. Almost like a man but not quite. Reminded me of those marionettes they used to bring out for the children, but with no strings. It threw something into the crowd from the rooftop. Those… those poor halflings, I watched them burn. They.. they were still alive as the flames consumed their flesh.” As she relives the experience, the watch start to close in around you. ” This looks even worse now. At least I am with the well read Reinholdt and not your younger brother.”
The child looks dejected, ”We live on the other end of the alley, but they’ll both be at work in some big old house. You… you can’t save them right? I thought these prayer beads might help - they dropped right from the sky into that water barrel just after Pip thew me behind it. I think it’s a sign.” He opens his hands to reveal a necklace with 7 beads, bright red with swirling flames inside.
Aldrik grits his teeth. "Of course, Lady Hornraven. Well, as I am Aldrik, youngest of my family, perhaps I can show you the kindness of having invited you this day to view an investment opportunity, which you can of course decline further interest in once you give the Watch a statement about the marionette man. So very kind, us Reinholdts, don't you agree? Much better a tale than digging into affairs with Mr. Trench."
"Prayer beads..." Kerri looks at the necklace. "I'm sorry about your friends, but I'm sure they cared for you a lot, if they pushed you out of the way."

Once Cico has pocketed the cloth wrapped sample of muck, he stands and surveys the area. Seeing Aldrik talking with someone and looking up at the roofs, Cico looks up at the roof line as well.
He looks for an easy way to get up on the roof that the woman and Aldrik were looking at. If there's time before the guard show up and get very officious, Cico will try and climb up to have a look around.
If he can jump and bounce between a wall and tree or another wall and use a few swings and hops to get up he will, otherwise just a straight slogging climb it will be.

Cico’s flips and vaults get him up onto the flat roof of the building, where the noble woman was looking he notices a footprint embedded in the sooty surface. Above him, the sound of flapping wings get’s ever closer. “Hold it right there. We have you surrounded.” The shining plate of the Griffon cavalier glints in the morning sun, he sits upon a handsome winged beast with a lions body and eagles head as he trains a crossbow on you.
Lady Hornraven’s face goes bright red, but she smiles in agreement Guards flood the street, ushering you everybody away from the bodies. “This is a crime scene, please stay inside as we conduct our investigation, the watch will come around to take statements shortly.” As their medics tend to the wounded Fala comes to Edvord. “Many thanks tor your assistance. Please accept one or my potions as a token of gratitude.” They gesture towards their store. “I do hope they catch the menace who did this. Did you see much?”

Cico looks at the footprint and tries to identify it, or at least look for anything remotely unique about it.

As he does, he speaks to the griffin-riding guard.
”I think to use surrounded there would need to be more of you. At best you are above and those ones down there are below,” Cico says.
After looking at the print, Cico looks up at the guard.
”Whoever caused the explosion did it from this roof and ran off. They probably knew how long it would take you to get here.” Cico says.
He stands and walks to the edge of the roof where he had come up. He stops and counts the fingers on his left hand, slowly. Cico closes his eyes and takes a deep breath.
”I should show respect when it is warranted.“ Cico says then opens his eyes and looks to the guard again. “Sir, if you would relax the surrounding you have me in, I would go back down to my companions. I will be in the Trollskull Manor.”
She then waves to the guards on her way back into the Manor and begins looking for pastries that aren't to burnt to eat, prestidigating them clean of glass and whatnot before piling them all for eating. While she is doing this she'll hum an upbeat tune while she asks Lif questions and waits for him to write his responses,
"Lif, can you add fix windows and burn damage to the to-do list please? Does this stuff happen around here often? In the cloister things almost never blew up!"
Aimee picks up another pastry and nibbles on the unscorched half of it. Pondering the two dead fellas on the floor.
"Lyss, I am new out here and stuff, but it seems like we've a ton of dead people? The ones in the warehouse, probably the ones in that place with unicorn and now these two?"
She looks out the empty windows to the Guards milling about,
"Should we tell them these two are in here? Maybe they'll let me pet one of those griffons! Or ride one!"
(The guards are certainly not milling about and can clearly see the explosion is right outside the tavern and there are bodies inside)
As you approach the tavern, the guards stop you at the door. ”Sorry Ma’am’s, this site is under investigation, please wait elsewhere. You don’t want to see in there. Trust in the watch.” And as you attempt to pick up pastries they bat them out of your hands. “Please do not touch anything and wait indoors until you are summoned.”
Kerri kneels down next to the halflings and starts trying to determine if healing will help them at this point.
