Aimee says,

"Wait!"

She reopens the door and calls in, in halfling,

"Forgot to mention that there might be a giant people eating ooze coming up from the sewers into your basement soonish! Don't let the kids play down there! See you later!"

She then closes the door again and follows the rest of the party.

As Lyss and Aimee dart out of the door, gold pieces roll along the floor in their wake. The halfling stutters in common, “We...w...well sir, when one intrudes on another’s property... it is generally seen to be an intent at robbery. And by the sounds of your posturing sir, you’ve already broken into my precious barrels of Pettlyn’s Porter!” 
As the two of you stand by the doorway, Renaer and Floon try to slip passed unnoticed, Renaer covering his face with his hand. “If you are not here to steal my beer, then you’d better explain yourselves! You say you came through the sewers madame, should I be expecting even more of you to come by at all hours of the day?”a

Outside, Lyss and Aimee are joined by Floon and Renaer, carefully exiting the building. “Well, Kerri here has a way with people, I’m sure she’ll have this whole thing smoothed over. The Genasi though.... I’m not so sure about.” He gives Aimee and Lyss a beaming smile. “You are an odd bunch, I must admit. But you’ve done a fantastic job here, and I even enjoyed myself a little... a reminder of the past. I say we get Floony boy here to a nice watering hole and celebrate our victory once those two patch things up!” 

"I promise this whole thing is a big misunderstanding," Kerri looks at Sparks. "And I also promise you we didnt touch anything."

"Oh! Oh! We have to go to the Yawning Portal! Floon, we need to show you to Volo! You're our quest, you can drink there!"

She'll open the door again,

"You two, we're leaving! Come on!"

She waves at the halfling then closes the door again.

“A misunderstanding? I don’t understand a bloody thing! How did you get in? And if you’re not gonna hurt me, or steal from me what do you want? And what did your friend say about an ooze?” The halfling looks more confused than anything.

(ooc - you both make a persuasion check if you like, Keri for showing that you mean no harm, Spark for the logic behind you being thieves. The halfling is however quite obviously confused by what is happening in his kitchen this evening.)

"I am very willing to show you," Kerri says.

"Either he doesn't know they've been using his cellar, or he's really good at pretending."

Lyss hops from foot to foot, taking her bow back from Aimee. 

"Let's not wait around here though... c'mon. They might keep watch on this exit."

She heads out to the nearest cross-street to get her bearings.

Tentatively, the Halfling nods. “Al...alright, show me then, but.... who are you?”

”Either way, we don’t want any more trouble, wether with gangs or with the city watch.” Renaer nods in agreement.

Resching the intersection, Lyss finds herself in familiar territory, on the edge of the southern ward, a atones throw from the dock ward.

"Right!"

Lyss scurries to a spot they can keep an eye on the alley from.

"Should be able to spot any gang tails, or if they finish having tea with that family, for the others to pop out. Though... I suppose if they decide they're moving in, then we can just split ol' Volo's payment between us, huh Aimee?"

"My name is Kerri," Kerri properly introduces herself, before going to show the man how they got into his house.

"Yep! We can buy a house Lyss! We won't be homeless anymore!"

She looks at Floon and wrinkles her nose in a friendly way,

"Wow! You stink and are so dirty! Let me help you!

She will prestidigitate both Floon and Ranaer clean. Also Lyss if she is dirty. While she does she chats,

"So you know Three Strings? He's great!"

“Pettlyn....” The halfling cautiously offers his name before following Kerri to the cellar. Showing the Loose flagstone to the halfling, he seems shocked. “My,my, I will need to have that blocked off as soon as I can. But tell me, why have you crawled up out of there? And why are you telling me this?”

Outside, Renaer thanks Aimee for the cleaning as Floon leans on his shoulder. “Yes, yes, a house would be great for you both! If you need anywhere to stay in the meantime, Neverember Manor is largely left empty much of the time. Yes, threestrings is a minor celebrity around town! I’ve tried to offer to buy him some replacement strings, but he says three is enough. “ Renaer shrugs

"Yeah, I stay there sometimes, when the weather's real bad, or someone's after me."

Lyss frowns. Something about being invited just seems wrong.

"We were looking for someone," Kerri explains, "we managed to find him. Seems like Xanathar's had a smallish operation down there in the sewers, but we got it clraned out."

"Really! After we see Volo let's go to your house! How many rooms do you have? Do you have lots of servants? Do you have a dungeon? Guards?..."

This goes on for a while...

Lyss interjects occasionally, mostly to keep Aimee going and tweak Renaer as needed.

"Oh! And a library? I'm really good at stacking books! And reading them too!"

"Ooo, remember that book fort we made? They really got mad when we defended it from the evil librarians."

"Yep! Probably shouldn't have thrown those books though! From then on I only got to work in the basement!"

“The Xanathar’s? I knew this place was too close to the dock ward, criminals all over here!” The halfling looks incredibly concerned. “We’ll get this covered up, believe me. Thanks for a the warning.” He ushers you over to the exit, clearly seeming uncomfortable with the intrusion.

”Um.... yes, no, yes, yes, no, no. Wait...... you’ve been to my house?”Renaer looks at Lyss and Aimee, shocked.
