Jiron blinks awake as the first streams of dawn creep through his window. Yawning, he sits up on his bed. Seeing his designs were still strewn across the small crate, he tucks the papers away safely in his notebook. After changing clothes, the young tinkerer grabs the Thundercannon and heads out back into the shop. Upon reaching the front desk, he, as usual, finds Zellix sitting comfortably, waiting for customers.
"Morning, sir" Jiron says as he places the Thundercannon beneath the desk, like he normally does. "A Tabaxi named Skabb Spotfur may come in sometime to have a painting looked at."
As Zellix releases the front desk to his employee, Jiron stands awkwardly, not sure how he should approach with his questions. Soon he simply shakes his head and sits without saying anything, not wanting to accidentally offend the illithid who had been so kind to him.
As he sits, still curious as to what tales his employer could tell of the old world, he forces himself to think of other things. He wondered how his companions from the rat excursion were faring. He still was rather afraid of the Minotaur Brand, but Skabb was a familiar face, and Skritch seemed to be nice enough. He hoped he might be able to see the them again, sometime.

As the days passed, the streets in Dorborden, particularly in the center, were decorated in preparation for Walpurgisnacht. Along with the colors of autumn, you see streamers, wreaths, and colored lights painted in hues of purple, pink, orange, and green. It seems that everyone is preparing for the festivities. Before coming to Dorborden, none of you have ever heard of a Walpurgisnacht before. During the last few days, while you worked or tried to tail a dryad, you have overheard excited chatter for the festival. It will be the first of it's kind, and at this event, Baba Aga will divine the future for all Oethean's.
You all know that the Faran Tree is set to be the site of the divination and that all of Dorborden will be welcome to attend. The empty space between the buildings and shops will most certainly be an ocean of bodies even Brand may have difficulty navigating. If the event is of interest to you, perhaps you should form a plan to ensure better seats than the rest?
Everyone finds themselves at the Smiling Gnoll for the night before the festivities, and the tavern is absolutely packed. The job board has a few new jobs posted, seems like options for semi-regular employment for the most part. It seems someone has finally taken down the job posting from Oikz, the damnable goblin that wanted to feed you to his disgusting giant rat. You have no choice but to sit with one another since all the other tables are taken, which is perhaps welcome since you are all already acquainted.
It seems the Brokenfrown family is working overtime tonight as you see nearly every member of the pack present behind the bar or serving patrons. Grresh Brokenfrown, the owner and leader of the pack, is the only one who seems relaxed in anyway. A few fuzzy kobolds surround her as usual. She laughs and seems to flirt with one in particular. Garrl, her brother, sneers at Brand as he approaches your table to take orders.
"If it ain't my favorite bull," Garrl mocks, but keeps it as 'frenemy' as possible with Brand. He takes any orders and scurries away to the kitchen, hopefully fulfilling them.

"Hello there, everyone." Skabb looks more well kept than last time the rest of the group saw him. Skabb orders some salted oxen and watercress from Grresh and finds back his seat with the others. He pulls up his chair and goes on, "So, are you as excited as I am for this Walpurgisnacht thing?" He over-pronounces the name of the festival. "I am actually thinking of getting quite good seats for the divination. It fascinates me that we have the power to know something so uncertain as the future, so I just HAVE to see it with my own eyes!" He smiles and straightens one of his whiskers that previously had poked out in a completely different direction than the others.

After his shift, Jiron grabs his weapon and notes, and, hoping to save up some more money, heads to the Smiling gnoll for dinner and another look at their job board. He notices the understandable anticipation for the Walpurgisnacht festival, and finds himself lost I thought, not only about what Baba Aga might reveal, but also about how this ritual might work, and so he decides to bring his notebook along with him to the festival tomorrow.
Upon reaching the Smiling Gnoll, Jiron sucks in his breath as he realizes it is somehow even more packed than the night he met his companions. Looking around, he sees the job board is a bit more filled than last time, but focuses on finding a table. He hesitates upon seeing the Minotaur, but upon seeing that there was no where else to sit, and that the others were joining him, he tentatively sits down. "Hello," he mutters.
Upon hearing Skabb light up at the mention of the festival, he joins in. "Oh yes, I find the thought of it fascinating. I wonder how this ritual works. Understanding the magic behind it could help with all sorts of inventions. I would very much like to ask Baba Aga about it, though I probably won't get the chance..."
As the rather disgruntled gnoll waiter walks up, Jiron flags him down. "I'll have some smoked mutton and walnut bread, please."
Brand's presence never failed to turn heads when he entered a room, especially one so filled with transient visitors such as The Smiling Gnoll. Even among Oetheans, there was a stigma about minotaur. To many, they were seen as violent raiders and opportunistic manipulators, so their company was typically avoided except by very particular circles. At Garrl's greeting, Brand place a massive rat skull on the bar before a confused bartender, "Fill, carrion-eater." True to his word, Brand kept a skull from the last job to gloat at Garrl, no matter how petty the insult truly was. "What do you know about a ship in the harbor captained by a harpy and a lizardman?" He inquires.
Finding no other seat, Brand join the others with a plate of food and a rat-skull-mug. He stops off at the job board to see what's available as well; hordes of travellers mean hordes of issues.
