Brand charges next to Skabb and cleaves into the tree.

Attack: 9 for 9 slashing. Bonus Action to ready the dagger for defense (+2 AC until mext turn)

"Red wood for Baba Aga, not boat!" Skritch caws out, unaware that he's hearing Brand's thoughts and not his words.

Jiron shoots the Twig Blight that was about to make a run toward Skritch! It falls to the ground in a heap of sticks.

Brand rushes the red sapling. His strike doesn't appear to damage the tree in any meaningful way. He hears a distinct buzzing sound in his head. Serve me. Spill your blood for me. Brand is completely unaffected by this suggestion, but the voice is morphing. It sounds so familiar to him, but he can't quite put a finger on who it sounds like.

Twig Blights B & C run up to Skabb with wooden claws outstretched. They both slash toward him with their pointed fingers. (Attack 1: 7 Damage 1: 2, Attack 2:  5 Damage 2: 5)

Seeing his attacks be less effective that he had hoped against the Red Wood, Skritch maneuvers back south about twenty feet and attempts to clear out one of the remaining Twig Blights so that his companions can have a clear shot at the tree with their own powers. Winding up with his second dagger, Skritch lets the blade fly.

Dagger Attack vs. Twig Blight C's AC: 9, 6 piercing damage.

As Skritch goes to throw the dagger, the Red Wood unleashes an ear piercing shriek. The sound causes Skritch to fumble his throw, the dagger landing about 20 ft. in front of him.

The earth beneath Skabb's feet begin to rumble as long, tentacle-like roots spring from the ground and begin to coil around Skabb's body! (Attack: 9 Damage: 7 bludgeoning.)

Between Skabb and Jiron's efforts, the Twig Blights are no more. Brand, however, has difficulty landing meaningful blows against the blasted tree!

With the Blights again defeated, and hopefully safe enough back to be out of danger from the flailing root tentacles, Skritch blasts the Red Wood with another dose of the Thorn Witch's magic.

Eldritch Blast vs. AC: 11, 10 force damage + 3 necrotic damage.

Skritch's blast blows off one of the red sapling's branches. It screams from the impact of the blow as white liquid pours from where the branch used to connect to the tree.

The tree continues its howl of pain as it lashes out at Brand with its roots, now trying to ensnare the minotaur in its grasp! (Attack: 10 Damage: 7 bludgeoning)

Skabb's chop leaves a huge gash in the side of the red sapling! It seems to him a few good more chops like that will take care of the problem.

Seeing as the twig blights seem to have been taken care of, Jiron points the Thundercannon at the evil tree itself.

"That doesn't sound good..." Jiron mutters as he hears the crackling behind. Moving forward gen feet, he swings around, Thundercannon up.

Skabb and Brand can hear gurgling come from Jiron's shot. 

The rustling all around Skritch and Jiron continue. Whatever it is, it sounds very, very close now.

Brand slashes again at the bark, hoping to so *something* of value.

Skritch sends another withering blast of the Thorn Witch's power towards the base of the Red Wood.

Eldritch Blast vs. AC: 24, 3 force damage + 4 necrotic damage.

Brand is so pissed at this tree by this point that he almost doesn't expect to make a dent in it with his initial attack. He may be thinking 'I should have brought an ax to cut this damn tree!' The fact that his first attack lays into the tree and causes the music of agonizing screams to play for him makes throws him off enough to miss his second attack. At least he can relish knowing he is on the scoreboard.

Distracted by what sounds like growling, Skritch's blast shoots too high up and breaks off a smaller branch of the sapling.

The roots around Skabb and Brand's feet stop thrashing as at the trunk of the red wood a maw opens and spews out green gas in Skabb's direction!

Skabb, make a Constitution saving throw against DC 13. If you fail, you take 14 poison damage. If you succeed, only take half that much rounded up.

Near Jiron and Skritch, two wolf-like creatures have appeared! Skritch knows these to be thorn wolves! They howl and seem to start circling around Jiron and Skritch.

While covering the mouth with the inside of his elbow he takes another swipe at the tree, trying to hit the same wedge that his previous chops have caused. As he hears the wolf approach his feathered friend he turns around and walks towards the wolf, enough to get within 30 ft of it. "Heel."
