We've got a little bit of time this morning. We need to stop by Tuck's and hit up the gem cutter to let him know we need to postpone job for him but we could try to find out what's going on with the business in the basement.
Heec! Stop signing us up for all these tasks! I have NO desire to go back there, no offense Emmett.
It'll go twice as fast if you come too! Besides, Tuck said he should have some new gear for us and I told him we'd take a look.
I hope you're rolling in the gold because I don't have much.
Let's just go see what he has. What do you say Emmett? Meet us at your house around 11?
We need to let Seraphina what we know about the townsfolk being accepting of her and Torg.
I'll let you handle that. I need a few more minutes. The quaff... the quaff!!!!... Goodbye now...
You keep sleeping, little guy. I got this.
Heec heads for Seraphina's office. He knocks on the door and the door slowly opens. He sees Seraphina sitting at her desk.
Good morning, Seraphina. We don't have too much time this morning but Tae and I were able to have some conversions with some of the villagers. It's safe to say that no one would mock you or disapprove of your relationship. You have my word on this.
Seraphina looks surprised that Heec actually followed up on his word. She sighs.
S: I suppose you're right. I may have known all along but I had to be for certain. I'll go talk to him. Thanks Heec. It means a lot to me.
She perks up.
S: Well you are technically the first to know that we will be together. Can I offer you a cider in celebration? I have apple and pear, your choice. Or you and your friend can have both! Where is your friend? It's early but never to early for a small nip of cider.
H: A bit of celebratory cider sounds great! *Heec sticks his head into the hallway.* Tae! Pack up your things and come down here for some hair of the dog. We gotta get to Tuck’s asap. He’s probably all worked up because we’re not there yet.
*Tae picks Fog Cloud and Unseen Servant for this day’s spells, gathers the rest of his things and meets Heec in Seraphina’s office.*
T: You said hair of the dog, not fuzz of the peach. It’s all too sweet for me. But still, congratulations, Sera.
*Heec raises the pear cider, nods and prepares to leave.*
H: Thank you Seraphina. We must be off. Have a wonderful day!
*Heec and Tae depart and head for the general store.*
Tae and Heec enter the General Store and see a completely different layout than yesterday. Several shelves of standard goods for farmers and villagers have been pushed to the sides and there are tables laden with gear in the middle of the floor. One table is filled with weapons of all sorts and the side wall has the taller weapons leaning against it in a neat row. Another table has some basic armors and shields. And four more tables are neatly arranged with the standard adventuring gear.
Tuck is standing on his step stool behind the counter reading over a parchment. He casually looks up over his thick glasses after a few moments and speaks in a surprisingly even tone.
T: Gentlemen, it's good to see you again. Please take a look around and let me know if I can get you anything.
He goes back to looking at his parchment.
Items included are as follows: Light Armor from the Armor Table plus Shields, Simple Weapons plus Simple Ranged Weapons from the Weapons Table, Anything costing 5 gold or less from the Martial Weapons Table, Anything costing 2 gold or less from the Adventuring Gear Table. All item prices are as listed on their respective table.
Heec and Tae look at all the items, discussing what various items they could need to each other. After finally gathering up all the good they would use, they set all the items on the counter. They have selected:
2 Grappling Hooks
1 Hammer
1 Crowbar
5 Flasks of Oil
1 Shovel
40 Darts
2 Clubs (to be converted into 2 Nunchaku)
By my calculations, that's 11 gold and 7 silver. Why don't we call it an even 12 gold?
Tae pulls out his considerably large pouch containing more gold than he's ever lead on to having.
I'll take those robes over there too. Another gold? Let's make it 15 even for your troubles.
Tae stacks three stacks of gold coins, five high each.
Tae looks and Heec and Heec looks right back at Tae. This is extremely uncharacteristic of Tuck. He’s normally either extremely excited with the purchases or attempting to get the adventures to buy even more. Something is amiss.
T: Thanks for everything, Tuck.
H: Hey Tuck...
Tae immediately grabs Heec’s arm.
T: *whispering* No, damnit! We’re already signed up for like 30 things to do today and I don’t want to have to take on another project. We leave now, we’ll see him again later.
H: ... Thank you kindly...
Heec and Tae head towards the door planning to travel to Emmett’s house next.
Tuck waves absent mindedly at the elves. As they exit they see Tuck jump down from his stool and practically leap across the room. He is silently pumping his fists in the air.
Tae and Heec regain all hit points, hit die, expended spell slots and daily abilities
The sun crests over the horizon slowly spilling light into the flop house. Emmett is sitting on his bunk.
Heec rises first as Tae, as per usual, is trying to squeak out as much sleep as possible before the day begins.
Ahhh... good morning Emmett! How's the house coming along?
Shhhhhhh...
Emmett looks a little glum.
E: Well Mr. Elfmans, no one believed me about the spider and whatever is in the basement so I wasn't able to get any help in clearing it out.
He shrugs his shoulders.
E: Oh well, it's not so bad here, is it?

Emmett perks up considerably.
E: You are the best friends a guy could have! I'm going to get my stuff and I'll see you there at 11!
It is currently 7:00 AM on the 2nd day of Eleint.
We need to let Seraphina what we know about the townsfolk being accepting of her and Torg.

Heec make a Persuasion check with advantage
Heec rolls a nat 15.
Seraphina looks surprised that Heec actually followed up on his word. She sighs.

Are we all settled up here, Tuck?
Tuck looks over the equipment as slowly and as casual as a fall festival barn dance.
T: Yes. That should settle up the tab, I believe.
He takes the coins without counting and puts them in a small pouch.
T: I do hope you come again.
He goes back to reading the parchment.

Emmett is sitting outside on the last crate and is overjoyed to see Tae and Heec approaching.
E: You guys came. And early! I can't wait to get started.
He suddenly remembers why everyone is there and what there is left to do.
E: Umm... So if you guys want to ummm... Get started. That would be good.
He has that classic sheepish Emmett look.
H: I think we should jump right in.
T: The sooner we leave, the better.
Heec and Tae head to the cellar door. They do a perception check once they get to the bottom of the stairs.
Heec rolls 9 (4+5).
Tae rolls 15 (12+3).
Tae and Heec Perception Check
Everything seems quiet. The door at the end of the cellar entrance is closed and there are no visible lights from behind it.
T: I’m already tired of this.
Tae casts Dancing Lights and sends the four orbs to each corner of the Cellar.
Both take a look around the cellar now that the lights are on.
Tae rolls 10 (7+3).
Heec rolls 21 (16+5).
