Mordekai mutters a prayer for the departed and then approaches the grave. "Are you all alright? You all did brilliantly." Looking over at Scab and Slurb, "Careful with those items. He pulls out a holy symbol and begins ritual casting detect magic.
First, she puts one gem for each, and 50 gp put aside for the last person.
Then, she divides the 150 left gp into 6, putting 25 gp next to each gem and also adds the last 25 to the pile of 50 from before.
(Unless Khan doesn't exist anymore, I'm not sure what's going on. If Khan isn't there, then a gem and 40 gp each. Honestly, both numbers divide well, I don't understand how you got to 41.66667)
"I've done dividing the loot. Come take your share."

(OOC: totalling the five 50gp gems and the 200 gold, that brings it to 750 gold, or 125 gold apiece. I recommend we divide the loot evenly. Or, perhaps, item value could be factored differently into the distribution. I also recommend rereading the inventory variant rules. I certainly know my own character with their strength score does not have the required room for more coins, meaning he would rather take an item or two.)
Scab enviously looks at the pile of coins and gems with dismay, more than aware of his thinning pocket room. “Gems no good for Scab. Little trinkets, though..,” he rasps, approaching the mound. If nobody objects, he will snag the golden locket, leaving the gold untouched for anyone who would like it. “Gold only buys food, and Scab finds food himself,” he grumbles to himself, among other inflated quips that seek to convince himself the coins are worthless.
“We best get going. Town’s only an hour away, and Scab don’t like staying out at night.” With that, he resumes his regular duties of a scout and guide, constantly patrolling the area and looking for anything hostile or interesting. Let me know if checks need to be made
Slurb hurries over and picks up the tattered leather book in the graves. Opening it up, it does indeed appear to be the diary of the Spirit, named Sybil. It's written in neat cursive. At the end, a few passages seem to stand out as they are frantically scribbled, yet strangely, the last few sentences are calmly written.
As he grows louder, so too do the voices. I must not listen to them, for my Husband will return from his conscription soon and I will be here to welcome him. I am blessed to have someone so kind to love me, to care for me, despite my afflictions. But in the meanwhile, Lisa, my childhood friend, has been nothing been supportive. It was only her that I survived the wrath of my father in my early years...
My Husband has returned...and I find him, with Lisa, in a lover's embrace. This cannot be... this was an impostor, some insidious demon that had killed my Husband and now mockingly wears his skin. I could not let this creature walk the earth any longer, and the voices agree... No! The voices, they can not compel me to do this. I must stop the voices, there must be some potion, some tincture that can help...
The old hag that sold me this solution promised me it would dispel the voices. It only made them worse. At first, they jeer and mock at me, but now, all they do is...scream. God, it's horrible. But now, I hear the sounds of chanting and torches burning outside- and that is not from the voices. The townsfolk have found me guilty in their witchhunts, all because I bought a potion. It's almost...ironic. Among the hateful faces of the crowd, I see my family, the head priest, even Lord Trajan's son is there, carrying torches and a pillory. Let them come. How could I suffer more?
Mordekai extends his magic deeper within the enchanted items, the locket and the bonnet. Immediately, an overwhelming wave of sadness, hate, and pain overcome him. But, he's so close to determining their classification. Shall he push forward?
Scab takes a closer look at the gravestones, but doesn't find anything that was previously concealed. As noted before, the names of the graves have been scratched into the stone, while it seems previous names have been scratched away. He performs a rite of passing for the dead, perhaps helping those tortured souls reach a better afterlife. If such as frivolous concept as an afterlife can exist, in the clutching shadows of Alycron...
I apologize for not continuing your conversation with the barkeep. Once the Halloween Event wraps up, I will be more responsive with things happening back at town.)
"What in the 9 hells was that?! Some wounded beast? How did it get inside the city?"
Jack is still skeptical of the 'spirit' situation.
The barkeep chuckles. "You would wish that's a beast...but it's not. It's a damnable abomination, from outside of town. Like I said, putting on those earplugs may be a good idea..."
Suddenly, the screams stop, and the chill feeling leaves the room. The spirit seems to have left town, as sudddenly as it has came. Where could it have went?
(Chronologically, this was when the party first began interacting with the graves back in this post, causing the spirit to return to the grove.)
"We survived our task and even completed it. Another strike and my body may have failed me... Let us go back to Trishdale and find out the value of these items before divvying the spoils."
He says as he stands with a groan and follows behind Scab. Suddenly, kobolds are not so strange anymore...
Slurb limps behind the others, heading back to the town.

Mordekai knows he should be more cautious, but as he sets out with the others....he can't help but push a bit further into the nature of these magical items. He's a priest trained in the knowledge of the arcane and the eldritch. What's the worst that could happen?
The new arrival entered Trishdale under the cover of night. He arrived alone, and was predictably accosted by the guards who reasonably assumed he wasn't what he appeared. Confident that the stranger before them was, in fact, a well-meaning human and not a night creature in disguise, he was admitted through the gate.
Klark Hal, a Night Watcher, made no effort to hide his affiliation with the group. In fact, he proudly displayed their emblem on the shield he carried across his back. He kept his hood down, so as not to appear any more suspicious, and nodded to the rare townperson out after night.
The cleric made his way to the large cathedral, for it clearly stood out against the rest of the structures in town. From outside he could see the dim glow of flickering candle light within, he could hear the low notes of the organ playing a sad, low tempo song.
Night Watcher Hal opened the heavy, creaking door to the structure and entered. He glanced around the open room, noticing the various deities' symbols on the walls. Intrigued by the diversity of gods represented, he searched for the Night Warden, careful not to disturb any of the faithful praying before their own idols.

Mordekai:
Mordekai begins to force his way pass the overwhelming wave of emotions. A few images flicker in his eyes- the gold locket given from the Husband to Sybil, Sybil refusing to put on the bonnet before being slapped by her mother. Mordekai realizes that while these items may not have been magical before, the Spirit's supernatural death has infused them with an eldritch power.
WIS Save 15 or 1 Stress
Finally, he can identify some of the properties of the items. The golden locket contains an aura of fiery golden light(evocation), but the faint sound of a heartbeat emanates from it. Perhaps it has some healing properties?
The bonnet glows a faint blue(divination), and whispers and disjointed voices float around it.
The party begins trekking back to town as a faint light arises in the horizon. It's dawn- they've made it. They've survived their first foray into the Wilderness of Alycron. And while they've been exposed to the horrors of the dark, they've also accomplished a good deed that has saved many people
The gates of Trishdale swing open as a crowd of onlookers gawk with amaze at the party's return.
"Hah! I knew they could do it," yells the bartender, who's still a bit drunk. "Come over to the Tavern and I'll get free ales for all of you!"
One by one, the party is approached by jubilant and even weeping townsfolk, happy that the threat to the town has been finally eliminated. They give words of thanks, invitations to share a meal at their homes, and even some coin and valuables.
(A total of 15 gold from the townsfolk.)
Fallion:
Fallion is approached by his trusty retainers. Effrita gives Fallion a hug, saying, "You're back! When I heard those horrible screams, I was so worried for you. How could you possibly kill such a creature? But you did it! Tell me, how did it go?"
Isabella stands behind Efritta with a knowing smile. "Fallion, you look exhausted. I've prepared your room in Tavern. When you're done here, I want you to take a rest, all right?"
Saville awkwardly waits by. When Fallion is finished speaking to Efritta, he leans in and whispers. "I hope your feeling alright, as we've been thrown a curve ball. A courier in all colorful clothing approached me in the tavern. I have no idea anyone could manage to find me, since I usually cover my tracks pretty well. Anyways, she gave me this."
Saville hands Fallion a letter, sealed with a wax emblem. He waits for Fallion to open and read it.
Mother Superior, the elderly tiefling priestess, walks up to the party accompanied by a few other clerics.
She says, "I can't believe. You actually managed to defeat the abomination. We are all in your debt, as you have done a great favor for Trishdale. Unfortunately, I must ask one more favor of you."
One of Mother Superior's companions steps up. He's an imposing human wearing black priest's vestments over scale mail. His torso is covered with purity seals and he wears a necklace of garlic, while wooden stakes are strapped to his forearm. A prayer book dangles from his belt, and he carries a holy staff of tarnished copper.
The man's face is covered in disfiguring scars, making him look even more ghastly as he smiles.
"I'm Brother Aris, head of the Inquisition. It's always a difficult job, of course, to keep Trishdale safe from the dark forces of Alycron. Now, my concern is that when you successfully defeated the creature, you may have recovered certain artifacts. We.. will allow you to keep some of them, as we are sure you can use them well. Our concern is any sorts of books or writings you may have obtained- things that could be reproduced or spread. Things that may slander the history of the Church. Klark enters the gothic cathedral as the organ plays in the background. After some searching, he finally finds a small altar and idol in a dusty corner of the Abbey. It doesn't appear that many worship the Night Warden in Trishdale.
A small note is tacked on to the altar. It's yellowed with age.
Pray my friend, and let the strength of the Night Warden fill you. For though the horrors of the night may plague your soul, your righteous cause will prevail.
