There is a rocky passageway that descends sharply downward, dropping at an angle of thirty to forty degrees. Along each side of the passage you see bricked-up cave mouths. A faint moan reaches your ears from somewhere ahead.
There are four cave openings A, B, C, and D.
Pick one to investigate, or continue forward, if you dare.

Wilma pauses and tries casting another spell. She tries Conjure Animals this time, wishing to have some animals to help investigate the caves... Spell check: 5
Dirk ignores the moans, figuring that leads to nothing good. Instead he moves to investigate Cave Opening A. Oliver follows, trembling a bit at the sound of the moans. "What do you think that is?"

At cave A, the small, four foot tall cave mouth is completely blocked in by irregular stone bricks that have been mortared together. You can break it apart with a DC18 Strength check. Each cave mouth can be excavated in this way.

Red pipes in from the rear of the group "Teamwork makes the dream work! How 'bout we work together to break down one of these walls?"
Intending to impress the group, Red make his own go at shoving over the wall: 10
After a few seconds of useless grunting and heaving, he stands back to look at his handiwork...."See? I started it for you...but wanted to leave some for the rest of you so you didn't feel like I'm hogging all the fun!"
"Those walls look well built..." Wilma comments, taking notes. "Not sure it is simply going to be a matter of breaking them down..." She stands away as the others give it a try though. Hank sighs and moves to the wall. "Does look fairly well-built..." he agrees, but tries to bash it down. He takes a bit of a running start, then slams his shoulder into it... Strength check: 9 (if I can use a deed dice here: 3)
Once again, look at the map pinned in discord. The stone passage ends on a landing that overlooks a narrow 20 foot wide ravine. Below you, the ravine writhes with a sense of motion. You see squirming tentacles rising and falling in the depths amidst a squirming mass of suckers, eyeballs, claws, and other tentacles appendages.
Across the ravine is a drawbridge, flush against the opposite cave wall and held tight by stout iron chains. From below you hear a weird ululating sound, much like the one you heard on the stairs before.
The tentacles writing below you in the ravine are about 20 feet below.
From this point, the drawbridge can be lowered with a stout chain or rope by making a AC10 missile fire attack to anchor a grappling hook and a DC12 Strength check to lower it.
Red will search around our side of the ravine, looking for any sort of hidden mechanism to lower the drawbridge from our side....or maybe a gong or something to ring as a makeshift doorbell? 3

Oliver draws an arrow from his quiver, borrowing Dirk's blacksmith tongs in a attempt to make a make-shift grappling hook. "Let me borrow a rope of some sort and I'll try to get us access to that chain."
If a rope or some such is provided, he shoots: 10

Wilma takes Hank's ten-foot pole, attaches her ten-foot chain to it, and the fifteen foot of silk rope from the other merchant. She hands the pole back to hank as she offers the rope end to the archer. "Give that a try. If this works, then Hank will try to pull on the rope/chain/pole to pull down the drawbridge. Strength: 10 plus 1 deed dice.

"Oh come on, it can't be all that hard..." Wilma says glancing to the strong men who cannot seem to pull down a simple bridge. She sighs, tucks away ehr papers,a nd grabs the pole. She tries to pull it down... Strength: 4
The drawbridge creaks and crashes down! Hearing the noise, large tentacles slowly rise from the sea of writhing mass from the bottom. Who dares to cross?
Wilma slumps over as the tentacle strikes her, then tumbles into the pit below... her carefully-written notes flutter down after her. Hank runs forward, deflecting the tentacles with his armor and moving towards the other end of the bridge.

Last to know and first to be blamed...
As a free action, can I regret my life choices?

"Yep, well built." Hank says as he rubs his sore shoulder. He nods towards the path ahead. "Shall we continue?"
“Let’s let big guy take a run at it!” he responds, admiringly, while pointing to Dirk.

The rocks don't budge. They're too packed in.
