Galqarin - Ireena, spurred on by your support, glares at Blinsky, her hand instinctively goes to her rapier. "Explain yourself! How and why are you making these dolls in my likeness?!"she says with a cold, calm fury.
The whole situation was clearly becoming overwhelming for Mr Blinsky. He stood, his eyes quickly moving from Ireena, the person, to the Ireena dolls, created by his own hands. He shook his head frantically from side to side and muttered to himself, "Nyo, nyo, nyo - eet cyannot be."
Still trembling, Mr Blinsky turns his eyes to you, clearly fearful of what may transpire."Eet was nyot my idea, please!"he implores."Myister Stra...", he cuts himself short and looks around the store as if checking for any hidden intruders."They wyere a cyom-mee-shyon. I myade tyo spes-cee-fycay-shyon. Nyot my own dee-syne."he says, barely able to control his anxiety. "Looook, looook,"he scrambles beneath his counter and takes out a number of sketches, all looking remarkably like Ireena.
"I jyust wanteed tyo myake byuteeful toys! Myake thee leetle boys an' girls, hyappy!" The toymaker slumps over his counter and sobs loudly.
Meanwhile, Piccolo, Blinsky's pet monkey, appears, jumps onto the counter and starts making the Ireena dolls spar with each other, in mock battle.
"Mister who did you say?", queries Galqarin, his eyes narrowing. His arm stretches out to restrain the irate Ireena.
Blinsky is a kind man, there must be some other explanation. Could Ismark, or their father, have commissioned the dolls without Ireena's knowledge? Or some "admirer", past or present. But for what purpose? A gift, or something more sinister. The Vistani sometimes used dolls to perform their magicks, he had heard.
((They have same modifier anyway - Persuasion of 15 rolled in game log. The man looks frightened and upset enough already and Galqarin harbours no ill-will towards him))
Galqarin - Blinsky looks up at you through teary eyes. "He cyomes to my styore, an', an'..." Blinsky looks around once more, almost as if the walls themselves had eyes. He dashes around Ireena and sticks his head outside the door, checking the street, before quickly ducking back in.
"Myister Strazy-ni"Blinsky hisses under his breath. "He cyomes hyere an' he... he breyks thyings. The toys, my dolls, he... he... he... eeven threy-teens Piccolo." Blinsky says between sobs as he struggles to get the words out, "He ees a fyiend, a myonster!"

"Whyat wyould the poorleetle boys an' girls dyo? Eef my shoyp, ees shyut? Nyo more hyappiness! Deespair!" Blinsky whimpers, shoulders slumped, "Hyopeleesness."
Sandu took short, concise notes of what Vosper related about the situation. It did not sound good.
'Four victims in two days. No relation between them. Same method used to kill every time.' Sandu muttered softly with his tongue between his teeth. He paused to scratch his temple. 'The latter suggests one perpetrator. But why? There is no connection between the victims. And the time frame: why so little time between the acts? If one wanted to spread fear, make a statement or flaunt their perceived untouchability, they would leave time to let that sink in. This seems more like something lashing out randomly. To say nothing of the locations.'
He looked up from his pondering. 'Someone wearing some kind of armour, you say?'
“It could be a magic user of some kind. There are spells that they could cast to cause paralysis. Which would explain why the don’t have any defensive injuries. The constriction I am unsure about. Have any of the the folks found been know to do things that would be considered a sin? What I am suggesting is a extreme methodology, but there are some sects of religions who torture and kill sinners for there sins. It could explain the constriction. A way to torture the people before finishing them off,” says Dormark putting his fist on his jaw as he thinks.
You are able to easily discern - primarily due to your earlier spell failing - that the blue orb is likely enchanted with an incredibly strong silence spell.
Furthermore, it is your understanding that the enchantment is only temporary and would require renewal on a daily basis. You vaguely recall that all manner of spells can be stored in such an orb. However, if the orb is moved the spell will likely fail.
Additionally, you can tell that the glass orb is exceptionally fragile and needs to be handled with the utmost care.
Sandu - Vosper listens attentively to your musings, nodding along to your deductions. "Mm, good, good. That was exactly the conclusion I came to; someone malicious done this, someone that might be killing for sport? The killings seem without purpose and all seem to occur on the East side of town, near the Arasek Stockyard... well, except for the last." He points to the map sketch, his finger points to the stockyard ((the clearing in between the murder sites 1,2 & 3)). He then points just above the site of the second murder,"Stranger still, Henrik's shop's rear window overlooks the tree where the second victim was found. Might have been that he saw something?"
"Oh yes, a young lad - Martikov - Brie or Brey, can't quite recall. His family own the Blue Water Inn near the centre of town."Vosper scratches at his temple, clearly perplexed by the events that have transpired,"Reckon that his story checks out? I assumed it was some fantasy he concocted."
Dormark - Vosper's eyes widen a little as you mention the use of magic. "A scenario, like you suggest, seems plausible. Such a powerful magician would stand out like a sore thumb in Barovia. Or..." He drops his voice down to almost a whisper, "they may be working for a certain someone - resides in a large castle - if you catch my drift."
As you mention sects, Vosper's face drops, "Have care friend. I have heard that there are indeed cults operating within Vallaki - many of which have very powerful members. Why I've even heard rumours that Lady Fiona Wachter herself is in league with such a sect. Though it is clear there is no love lost between her and the Baron, such rumours are likely hearsay." He looks back and forth between you and Sandu, "I could not find any evidence that these murders were ritualistic. Might it be worth examining the murder sites?"
'Martikov - witness, Blue Water Inn.' Sandu scribbled on his piece of parchment. The pen had run dry and he used the other end to scratch the side of his head. He pretended not to hear Vosper's insinuation about castles and barons. The last thing they needed was him or someone directly working for him breathing down their neck.
'Both good suggestions.' Sandu turned to his companion. 'I'm hesitant to say but considering time seems to be of the essence, we might have to split up to cover more ground. You check out the murder sites and I'll talk to the kid, all right?'
Galqarin - Ireena shakes her head, fury bubbling up inside,"I've no idea who this man is! Why would he commission dolls of me?! More importantly - what in hells does he do with them!"
"I joost myake dollies, dyo as hee says. Pleease." Blinsky hides behind his hands, "Dollies are nyormal, what hyarm can a dolly dyo?"
Dormark & Sandu - are you both leaving the Reformation Centre? If so, where to first?
Valerie - You are currently at the church with Ismark and the rest of the party. Is there anything that you wanted to do? Quest for the sword from your vision, for example? Or catch-up with Ireena & Galqarin? The choice is very much yours.
“It may not be wise Sandu. What happens if one of us run into the murderer by ourselves. Also, I may be helpful talking to the boy,” says Dormark.
'There is safety in numbers, I will not deny that.'Sandu replied. 'Yet you must acknowledge that, given the time frame, we have little room to dally.'
He looked Dormark up and down. 'There is also the issue that the kid probably still thinks you're the culprit. No offence but I think you might scare the kid.'
Sandu began pacing a bit back and forth pondering the situation. 'Splitting up would expedite the investigation but comes with a certain risk. If only there was a way to-'
He slammed his fist into his palm at the idea that popped in his head. 'There IS a way.'
Sandu turned to Vosper. 'You have my thanks for helping us. It may not mean much but I give you my word that we'll do our utter best to bring this gruesome situation to a conclusion.'He gave a respectful bow to Vosper and beckoned Dormark to follow.
Sandu quietly traced several symbols through the air as the two of them made their way back out the Reformation Centre. Once outside he finished the incantation with 'Ascultați-i, copiii nopții. Ce muzică fac.'
His vision to the sides was suddenly halfway blocked by two pair of wings while something soft with hard claws perched on top of him. Sandu's shoulders and head were now occupied by a trio of black ravens, each one looking curiously at the metal man before them. 'These are Pepi, Koki and Zazi.'Sandupointed at each one in turn. 'This is Dormark.' Sandu pointed at the warforged. 'He's my friend and you are going to help him.'
He plucked the raven from his head and perched it on Dormark's shoulder. 'This is how we will stay in contact.' Sandu smiled, pleased with himself as he was for thinking of this idea. 'I know it might sound strange but I can, like, talk with them over long distances. I, uh-'He hesitated a bit, 'I can also see and hear through their eyes and ears if necessary. This way I can keep up with you when you investigate the murder sites while I go talk with the Martikov kid.'
He scratched the head of the raven now sitting on Dormark's shoulder, definitely a broader perch for the bird, and addressed it in a loving but authoritative tone. 'Pepi, this is Dormark. He's in charge so you should listen to him and aid him the best you can, all right?'
Kraa-Kraa right!
Sandu looked a bit sheepishly at Dormak. 'Yeah, they can do that.'He added with a smile and a shrug. 'Okay, Zazi: you're with me. Koki, you take flight and keep an eye out for anything strange or unusual, okay?'
The raven on his left shoulder hopped off and took to the sky. The one on the right shuffled a bit closer to peck at Sandu's ear. 'I'll head to the Blue Water Inn. If anything comes up, tell Pepi and he'll relay it to me.' He patted Dormark on the raven-free upper arm. 'Keep safe, Dormark.'
Sandu turned on his heels and looked at the road leading to the inn where hopefully they could get some valuable information. Talk to a kid about a murder, I've done this before. With that depressing thought Sandu began walking.
OOC: one casting of Flock of Familiars - Pepi: the Watson to Dormark's Sherlock - Koki: the eye in the sky - Zazi: The Maya to Sandu's Phoenix
You are able to discern that Izek has Blinsky completely spooked; though he is coming forth with some information, you can tell that he is likely holding back.
Ireena looks between you and Blinksy."I meant Izek... he is nothing to me - I've never met him. I-I-I," she seems momentarily lost for words.
Mid-Afternoon - Day 6 - Valakovich Reformation Centre
Sandu & Dormark - You meet up with Murph outside the room, he profusely apologises for having to leave the room. He takes you back through the Reformation Centre; past the blue orb, up the stairs, through the courtroom, and out through the main doors. He seems pleased to out of the bleak, dark place as he walks through the entrance.
As you step outside, Koki takes to the skies and proceeds to circle over the town. Pepi hops on Dormark's shoulder obediently, nestling down and making himself comfortable. Zazi perches on Sandu's shoulder.
Blue Water Inn
Sandu - You head to the Blue Water Inn, opposite the Reformation Centre. As you approach the threshold you note Zazi looking around nervously and start hopping from foot to foot. Images, memories, come to your mind;
Ravens - dozens of them... Staring at you. A loud child's cry, "HEY I WANT TO BE THE KNIGHT, YOU WERE THE KNIGHT LAST TIME!". The cry echoes around your head. You see two young boys in your mind's eye - playing, laughing, having fun. Then blackness and pain.
The image leaves your mind. Zazi glares at you. Your mind goes to the last time you had summoned the familiar. Could the raven-familiar be angry at being taken here? Now, the Inn stands in front of you, quiet. You notice one or two ravens upon its rafters, but significantly less than in the memory you just experienced.
As you enter, the interior of the Inn also quiet. Two boys, the same from your memory, sit at a table - this time there is no laughter or joy. The younger of the two boys is red-eyed and has clearly been crying. The elder of the two sits with his arm around his younger brother, consoling him. Urwin and Danika, the boy's parents, look sombre and deeply concerned for their sons.
"I'm sorry we're closed!" Urwin says firmly before looking in your direction. As he turns, he stands and delicately approaches you, "Sorry - Sandu. How can I help you? Have you come about..." he lowers his voice, "this business?" He subtly nods in the direction of his two boys. "Terrible business, what happened to poor 'enrik... truly terrible. You wanted to have a word with Brom and Bray?"
Danika looks in your direction and scowls towards the both of you. "Oh, uh, please be gentle with your questioning. I think the 'ole experience was 'arrowing for poor Bray. Took a lot to calm 'im down."
Dormark - You leave Sandu at the front of the Reformation Centre knowing that you have a direct-line to him through the raven, Pepi, sitting on your shoulder.
Heading southwards you pass through the town centre; it is quieter than usual, most-likely due to the locals fear surrounding the recent murders. A solitary town guard stands in the centre of the sqaure, nervously fidgeting on the spot; he averts his gaze as you pass.
Looking at the sketched map you make your way to the nearest murder scene; the scene of the second murder. The area is still muddy from the previous days downpour. Under one of the trees you see a number of footprints and deep grooves - this must have been where the crime had occurred. A number of the tree's branches were split and cracked, the ground, though wet, still contains what looks like gore mixed with the rain water.
“Mister Blinsky, you must tell me everything“, says Galqarin softly. “We - I - will make sure Izek cannot harm you. It has been a long time coming, but Izek must finally atone for his past.”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

Sandu recoiled a bit from the intrusive images flooding his mind. Zazi had been here before. And it did not end well for her.
'Easy, girl.' He reached up to give the raven a affirmative stroke on the back. 'I got you.'
It was one of the few times entering an inn did not feel inviting. Rather Sandu felt like an intruder, not helped by the idea that he walked in on something private. Not wanting to force the situation, he waited until addressed by Urwin.
'Yes, I've been informed that your son might have some information that could aid us.'Sandu kept his tone professional yet polite. He gave Danika a nod to acknowledge her request. He took a chair and sat down to be on the same height as the boys. That always tended to help a fair dialogue instead of looking down. He knew from experience.
'Hello, Brom and Bray.' Sandu put forth his warmest smile, akin to how he presented himself at the orphanage. 'I'm Sandu and the town guard has asked to help them. Would it be okay if I ask you some questions about what you saw?'
