Valerie turns just in time to watch Sandu's Eldritch Blast beam go streaking out and strike the masked woman. "Took you long enough,"she shouts over, "guess this place wasn't as impenetrable as we first believed!" Her breathing appears laboured and blood streams from one of her ears.
The Masked Woman whirls round as the beam strikes her. Expecting to hear a scream of pain and smell the familiar stench of burned flesh the woman instead seems unfazed, an amulet around her neck glows a bright purplish red. "How dare you," she screams in fury, "attempt to strike at your betters!"
Enemy Mist (Right Side)'s Turn
A shape flickers in the dark mists, the hidden form takes shape and steps forward; it is a woman in dishevelled clothing, her eyes glow red and she has long black flowing hair. You can tell that in life she was once beautiful, now her skin looks pallid and she has large fangs protruding from her mouth. She dashes forward with unnatural speed, jumping up and running on all-fours across the side of the church, before coming to a halt in front of Dadeveth. The woman snarls a challenge at her prey,"let's see what you've got, darlin'!"
Dadeveth - The Vampire's taunt echoes through your mind. You watch as she starts positioning herself to strike. It is your turn to act, what do you do?

Dadeveth swallows hard, eyeing the vampire in front of her. She draws her new rapier with trembling hands, prancing a bit in place as her tail swishes nervously. She lunges at the creature, attempting to stab it, though she knows it will likely be the last thing she ever does, as she is no great warrior and this foe is so beyond her abilities that there is little chance for survival.
Siege of St. Andral's - Round #1 - Dadeveth's Turn
The vampire easily sidesteps your attack. She lets out a cackling laugh, "An actual 'orse would wield that thing better than you!"
Galqarin - You feel yourself becoming overwhelmed by the situation. This is your home. St. Andral's has always stood as a symbol of defiance against Strahd and his kind. You watch as both Cerio and Sandu dash towards the church. Currently, one of your new companions, Dadeveth, stands toe-to-toe with a vampire spawn; you've come across the likes of them before. You hear the vampire taunting her, like a cat taunting a mouse, it is clear she is struggling. It is your turn.
Galqarin reaches out and grasps the she-vampire by its throat. Holding it at arms length, he tries to drag it away from his companions, throwing in a kick for good measure.
*When you want to grab a creature or wrestle with it, you can use the Attack action to make a special melee attack, a grapple. The target of your grapple must be no more than one size larger than you and must be within your reach. Using at least one free hand, you try to seize the target by making a grapple check instead of an attack roll: a Strength (Athletics) check contested by the target's Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check (the target chooses the ability to use).

Siege of St. Andral's - Round #1 - Galqarin's Turn
DM Rolls:

Galqarin takes hold of the vampire by the throat. Kicking out he makes contact with the vampire's left leg, she lets out a gargled scream, the smile no longer on her face.
The she-vampire is currently grappled by Galqarin.
Galqarin - You are able to successfully pull the target 5ft (I made it 30ft to the target, half of your remaining movement whilst dragging being 5) away from Dadeveth.
Siege of St. Andral's - Round #1 - Rest of Galqarin's Turn!
Galqarin - As you hold the vampire at arm's length you realise that your kick did not quite deal as much damage as you would have expected. It is likely that the vampire spawn has some level of resistance to non-magical attacks.
Dormark - It would appear that your bugbear companion is successfully dealing with the vampire to your right. However, a dark mist still swirls to your left. Furthermore, both Cerio and Sandu have dashed inside of the church to confront whatever is inside. It is your turn to act.
Dormark marches to the door of the church as he passes by the magical hammer appears in his hand and Dormark throws it at the Vampire Galqarin is holding as he his passing by attempting to get into the church.
Siege of St. Andral's - Round #1 - Dormark's Turn!
Dormarks large, metal frame springs into action as he takes off at pace towards the church. Before entering, the mighty warforged turns and shoots a bolt of sheer light towards the grappled vampire, it briefly illuminates the area. Unfortunately, the bolt sails wide of the target, instead striking a nearby tree.
Valerie's Turn
Relief washing over her as she sees allies pouring into the church, Valerie quickly holds her holy symbol and utters a prayer to Tyr. Holding aloft her longsword, it crackles with energy along its blade, a loud crack of thunder sounds.
Valerie looks triumphantly at the Masked Woman and slashed out with the crackling sword.
((Rolled in Campaign)) Attack: 26Damage: 8 (Slashing) & 9(Thunder)
The sword finds purchase as it meets its target. The Masked Woman screams as the amulet around her neck glows a deep red colour before bursting into pieces. "Nooo!" the Masked Woman wails, "that was a gift from my husband!". She lets out another anguished wail, before angrily spitting, "you'll pay for that. I'll get you, I'll tear that bloody holy symbol from your cold dead hands!"
The Masked Woman proceeds to scream foul obscenities at Valerie; any observers would see that the woman has clearly lost her mind.
Dallid - You hear a loud crack of thunder from inside the church, unaware of whether that is a good or a bad thing. Currently one of your new travelling companions, Galqarin, is holding a woman that appears to be not only vicious but clearly of unsound mind out in front of him. It is time for you to act, Ferelyon stands ready at your side. It is your turn.

Siege of St. Andral's - Round #1 - Dallid's Turn!
Dallid watches as Ferelyon magically sprouts an additional head; it seemed there was a minor downside to the item - twice the amount of heads, twice the amount of slobber. At Dallid's command Ferelyon bounds up to the hapless, grappled vampire-woman and proceeds to gnash down with both his sets of teeth. The vampire-woman lets out an agonised wail as both attacks pierce her skin.
Those watching notice that Ferelyon's attacks, though successful, seem to meet a level of resistance as they connect with his target. Though the vampire-woman is hurt, it seems like her natural resistances have managed to blunt the attacks.
Ferelyon lets out a howl from both heads in triumph.
Baern's Turn
Spurred on by Valerie's attacks the stout dwarf attempts to strike at the Masked Woman.
Attack: 8 Damage: 8
Smashing down, his Warhammer connects with its target, thumping into the Woman's right shoulder. A booming cloud of energy swirls around the Masked Woman.
Vasili's Turn
Vasili appears as a man possessed as he dashes towards the front of the church. "Father! Father Lucian?!"he yells, his voice fraught with concern. Rushing in through the broken doors he runs down the hallway, manoeuvres between pews towards the altar. "Quick, move!" he hisses at the frightened commoners huddled to the right side of the church, "escape while you can!"
He almost seems like a different person, somehow more authoritative and commanding.
Vampire Spawn (Left)'s Turn
Emerging from the black cloud, towards the left of the church, steps a man in tattered noble clothing; he wears a torn waistcoat, a monocle hangs aimlessly from its pocket. The man's hair seems patchy and there are bald spots in areas. Some of his former self remains as he dusts himself down and adjusts his tattered shirt and tie.
"I say, I do believe one has started the party without one,"he declares in an aristocratic voice, "an oversight that must be remedied post-haste." He coughs indignantly before letting out a bestial snarl and running towards Ireena, arms flailing wildly as he goes.
He stops short some 10 feet away from Ireena, puffing and clearly flustered, his hands on his knees. He waves a hand up apologetically, "by all means, continue on without me."
Masked Woman's Turn
"Volenta Popofsky," she snarls by way of introduction. "Bride of Strahd Von Zarovich,"there is pride in her voice, "and soon to be your end, PALADIN!" Volenta spits the word out as though it causes her great disgust to say it.
The wounds along her shoulder and chest start to knit together; where there was bruising and bone, there is now just pallid skin. She approaches Valerie. "You destroyed my wedding present, *****!", she screams venomously.
Her movement however seems a little more laboured than before and she shakes her head as if to clear it. "What, what is this?!" she screams, checking the spot where Sandu's Eldritch Blast landed - "damned tricks!"she curses.
She swings her greatsword at Valerie, unleashing three attacks;
Attack: 8 Damage: 18
Attack: 10 Damage: 10
Attack: 17 Damage: 17
Volenta curses as only the first attack if able to connect with Valerie, the other attacks scraping ineffectually off her armour.

Father Lucian's Turn
Father Lucian appears faint as he scrambles from behind the altar. "Morninglord bless you, son," he says to Vasili as he takes shelter behind him.
Vallakians' Turn
Whether taking Vasili's advice or just spotting an opening in the fighting the frightened Vallakians make a dash for the front of the church.
They dart over pews and between people as they make it to the entrance of St. Andral's. Relief is written in their faces as they exit the building towards freedom.
It is then that you hear a great beating of wings, it almost sounds like the crashing of a waterfall, as one after another hundreds of small black shapes descend from the eaves of the church. The bats swarm over the fleeing Vallakians, completely eviscerating them until they are nothing more than a bloody mist. More innocents in the wrong place at the wrong time. Death by a thousand bat bites.
Ireena's Turn
Ireena watches in sheer terror as the Vallakians are torn to shreds by the bats. She attempts to place a steadying hand on Dallid before vomiting over the cobbled stones. Wiping her mouth, she runs towards the church. "Ismark?! Ismark?! I'm coming!"she bellows.
Running through the doors, she dashes to Father Lucian's office, "Ismark?!"
Cerio - You stand just inside of the entrance of Saint Andral's Church. The chaotic scene unfolding in front of you is bedlam. Baern and Valerie seem to be giving a good account of themselves, though Valerie (the paladin) is now carrying a wicked-looking wound. The elderly father current crouches behind Vasili. Vasili, in turn, stands defiantly staring at Volenta, his rapier drawn. Ireena has just burst in and is currently shouting for someone called 'Mark', perhaps a loved one or child.

Sandu tried to suppress what had happened outside from forming a clear image in his head. He could be sick later but for now the adrenaline pumped through his veins and forced him to keep going.
'Get inside!' He yelled at those out on the churchyard. 'If those bats get you, you're done for!'
As if leading by example Sandu ran further into the church, coming shoulder to shoulder with Dormark. 'You doing okay, big guy?'He asked before lobbing another bolt of purple energy with greenish outline at Volenta. 'Die, monster! You do not belong in this place! Pleacã!'
Move: coming up next to Dormark Action: Eldritch BlastAttack 17 Damage 6
I must have edited something wrong. The attack roll is correct but the damage roll is/should be a 6. Not that it matters because I don't think a 9 is going to hit.

Siege of St. Andral's - Round #2 - Sandu's Turn!
Sandu runs further into the church, away from the bats swarming outside. He attempts to fire off an Eldritch Blast at Volenta, however, she sees the beam coming and dodges out of the way. Instead the beam strikes the church's altar, blasting the items from the top of it and leaving a scorchmark in its wake.

Galqarin holds the woman-vampire at arms length. A number of her cuts, bruises, and Ferelyon's teeth marks begin to heal over. She desperately attempts to wriggle free from the bugbears grip.
Try as she may, the vampire cannot escape Galqarin's clutches and remains firmly rooted to the spot.
Dadeveth - To your right Galqarin stands with his arms outstretched, firmly holding the woman-vampire in place. No more than 10ft in front of you hundreds of tiny bats form a swarm, the sound of their flapping wings creating a thunderous din. It appears a number of your travelling companions have chosen to shelter inside the church and confront whatever threats lie inside. It is your turn to act.

'You doing okay, big guy?' He asked before lobbing another bolt of purple energy with greenish outline at Volenta. 'Die, monster! You do not belong in this place! Pleacã!'
Move: coming up next to Dormark
Action: Eldritch Blast Attack 17 Damage 6
I must have edited something wrong. The attack roll is correct but the damage roll is/should be a 6. Not that it matters because I don't think a 9 is going to hit.
William Brackwater: Human Fighter - The Windward Isles
Tyrgram, the Butterfly Knight: Dwarf Warlock - Secret of Greenwold
Iòlinder Corrach: Half Elf War Cleric - Allansia Adventure
Valerius Sergius Publius: Dhampir Paladin - Vae Victus
Siege of St. Andral's - Round #2 - Sandu's Turn!
Sandu runs further into the church, away from the bats swarming outside. He attempts to fire off an Eldritch Blast at Volenta, however, she sees the beam coming and dodges out of the way. Instead the beam strikes the church's altar, blasting the items from the top of it and leaving a scorchmark in its wake.

Vampire Spawn (right)'s Turn
Galqarin holds the woman-vampire at arms length. A number of her cuts, bruises, and Ferelyon's teeth marks begin to heal over. She desperately attempts to wriggle free from the bugbears grip.

(23 with a nat 20 - get out of that, *****!)
((No chance!))
