"Sorry Dadeveth, it has more to do with my personal story and the wizard I'm trying to find. I kept most of my companions in the dark about my search and now I'm asking your help. I felt it appropriate to at least let you know why it is important to me I find this man," says Dormark bowing his head apologetically.
Dormark pauses than begins saying, "Once long ago when the realms were young, came into being Moradin. He was born of rock, stone, and metal and is soul made of an ember of fire. Sandu you were correct that Moradin crafted the dwarves, but you are incorrect in the method. The first Dwarves were made in Moradin's forge. He smelted his creations from metal and jewels. When he breathed unto them to cool them, they received their souls. Thus were the first Dwarves born into Faerun."
Dormark concluding the dwarf creation myth says, "Moradin is a just and good god and it pains him to see those of the good character die but not finding their way to realms of there just rewards. Trapped in the material plane as the undead he wants to rectify the issue. However, since the beginning of the world there have been many limits on what these gods can do. So, with the help of his smiths, he created a new being. A child born like his others, but still made of metal and gems that is first children now no longer have. He gifted his child with a special flame. Naming it after his first act to bring the dwarves to life. This flame cannot create new souls into being, but it can store them inside of itself. It can also return those souls into new forms crafted of metal. That flame..," says Dormark popping open his secret compartment in his chest right where a heart would be. Inside there is nothing accept an empty receptacle. "was my soul," says Dormark looking at the group to see how they would take the revelation.
'And you believe this wizard or your soul,'It felt weird to refer to it like that as it did not stroke with anything Sandu believed a soul was, 'is here in Barovia? What would anyone here want with a soul vessel?'
Sandu scratched his beard. 'Can you feel it? Like pull you towards it or something?'
"My guess would be to get a soul out of this land." Dadeveth speaks up. "We know souls are not allowed to leave here. If this wizard had a soul he wished to get out, it would make sense to put that soul in a vessel like this, then to transport it out himself." She glances to the warforge. "Do you think that would work here?" She considers things for a moment. "If that is the case, then, just maybe, this wizard is working against the vampire. Just maybe he took the vessel for good reasons." She shrugs. "Still not right, and I agree we should do everything we can to get this vessel of yours back. Though I have found that there is rarely a right and a wrong to most things, that most people live in a gray area most of the time."
"Sadly no, if it were so I would not have such a hard time locating it. I only know that it still exists because I still exist. If it were somehow destroyed..," says Dormark trailing off as if to say what would happen to him.,
"It was design to transport multiple souls so yes, it is possible, but there a few drawbacks to it. One, you would need a vessel for the soul to reside in if you wish to retore them. Two, depending on how corrupt the soul had become it would need cleansing and cleansing... can cause a few issues from what I've been told. Three, if the soul has become totally corrupt the cleansing process can totally destroy the soul,' says Dormark.

'Doesn't mean someone is willing to try.'Sandu replied. It did sound like a viable method of getting a soul out of Barovia and if someone had already resorted to blatant thievery, Sandu doubted they would care much about the finer minutia.
The memory of a past campfire drifted in. 'Was it the same wizard who,' He paused on how to phrase it, 'injured your arm?'
ALL - Whilst this conversation is going on, can those that are back in the cottage ((I assume all of you at this point)) and are awake/paying attention, make a perception check.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sandu's Perception check: 8
Sandu's ain't seeing jack shit! Or in character: too engrossed in conversation with Dormark to pay much attention to anything else ^^
Okay, why does every time I edit a post with a roll in it, it always states that the roll has been tampered with DESPITE never touching the roll formula and just adding words? For the record: the initial result was an 8.

"Yes, I don't think he knew what it did at the beginning. When he was taken my arm apart, he discovered my hidden compartment. His distraction with it with it and my dwarven brothers coming upon us bought me time to retaliate. Being in the condition I was the only thing I could think of doing was to bite him. The wizard caught by surprise managed to escape, but at the cost of leaving his arm behind," says Dormark. Looking at Dormark's face, the natural bear trap formation of his mouth probably would have been painful process for the wizard.
You hear a crumpling sound from the front of the cottage, as though someone has stuffed something under the front door. This is proceeded by scuffed steps away from the property.
Unfortunately, you do not hear or see anything unusual, perhaps due to you being distracted by the current conversation, a lack of sleep, or feeling the after-effects of the earlier rush of adrenaline.
"Does Ferelyon need to go potty?" Dadeveth asks, noticing the animal sniffing at the front door. "Should you let him out, maybe he didn't go earlier with the boy and everything going on..."
Ferelyon (Dallid) - The wolf sniffs at a perfumed letter. It is handwritten and simply addressed to 'friends'.
Dormark - You bend down and scoop up the expensive-looking letter, it reads;
Dear friends,
You are hereby cordially invited to the exclusive midnight showing of the Dubois Residence, Krezk. After more than three decades, Guy Vauquelin’s entire Triumph De La Mort collection, known as the Atrocity Exhibition, will be presented to the public.
Oft described as a mad virtuoso, a dark prophet, in life Vauquelin’s infamy surrounded him like a miasma. Rumoured to have studied at Death’s feet, his insight resonates within his macabrely beautiful paintings, entrancing and horrifying views with their apocalyptic visions. Consumed by madness and hedonism, he ended his own life, leaving behind his artistic legacy.
An exclusive few have been invited from across fair Barovia. The evening will be a chance for you to meet with like-minded individuals in a celebration of Vauquelin’s life works.
Need more convincing? An old acquaintance hopes to see you there. Why he is concerned that his life may be in peril should you miss the event. I, of course, speak of the rather dashing, young Ioben Goldheart. He has spoken, at length, of his fondness for his travelling companions, certain that they will not let him down in his time of need.
I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow evening,

"So it's meant to be an ark, an escape, a shelter. Where is it and what did this man intend? And why bring it here?"
