Whether through luck or the sheer intensity of the situation Sandu takes his dagger and pulverises the claw. Stabbing with such ferocity and viciousness that it is a truly horrifying sight. The claw falls in a pool of it's own blood, multiple stab wounds covering it.
Ireena looks up in shock and bewilderment at Sandu, "Wha... What did you just say?". She peers into the mists and turns a pale white colour, "WE MUST GET TO THE CHURCH, NOW!" she screams.
Valerie - what remains of the male zombie stands in front of you, readying an attack, his severed arm flails around on the spot attempting to strike at you. Though the situation seems desperate you get the sense that you, Alder and Ioben are getting the better of your foes. Suddenly an ear piercing scream sounds as Ireena yells to hurry and move it to the church. It is time for you to righteously dispatch the zombie, it is your turn.
Hearing Ireena screams in despair, Valerie knows that something worse might happen. She swings her sword aiming at the neck of the zombie attempting to finish it off.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Valerie slashes down with her longsword connecting with the exposed neck of the zombie, decapitating it. As the zombie lies headless at Valerie's feet it's severed arm stops squirming and collapses to the ground.
Ismark watches as his sister stand's gawping at the oncoming swarms, "Come sister! We must leave, now!". He grabs her arm and leads her towards the coffin. Ireena obliges and runs with her brother to catch-up with the party.
After Ismark see's that his sister is moving away from the oncoming rats. He turns his gaze to the remaining zombie 'lady' and slashes twice at her with his longsword, using both hands.
Attack: 18 Damage: 11
Attack: 22 Damage: 7
The first attack slices deep into the zombies chest. Ismark grunts, pulls his sword from the fiend before slashing viciously at the zombies skull, removing the top portion of it's head, just above the jaw. The zombie 'lady' crumples to the floor.
"We have little time, we must leave now!"he yells at the group.
Alder - there appears to be a break in the fighting. You are aware that a number of swarms of rats are running at your location from the street behind you. You have a few fleeting seconds before they will be on you. It is your turn.
With the last zombie dead, Alder sweeps his eyes from one side of the street to the other, searching for a new target. Seeing nothing that truly resembles a target, he forces himself to think through their predicament. He moves quickly to take up a rearguard position against the encroaching rats, guarding the others and moving with them.
"Keep moving, I'll guard your backs."
(Move to the back of the group between the rats and the others, following about ten feet behind. Rage ends but he keeps an attack readied if the rats come into range)
Hearing the chittering of rat swarm following behind him Dormark puts Baern's legs to work as they run the coffin forward, saying, "Hurry or we will be overwhelmed!" Seeing the church in sight making him hope that this fight will soon be over.
As the Baern and Dormark once again run forward desperately carrying the coffin over the slippery cobblestones a wave of black fur dashes down the street. The rats are easier to see now and they appear to be dashing towards the party.
Baern - You look back and notice that the swarm of rats has run to within striking distance of the party. However, the street ahead is clear and you think you can make it to the church. It is your turn to act.
"We can do it, Dormark!" Baern continues to forge ahead, arm and should muscles strained with the weight and odd angle of the coffin due to the height discrepancy between him and the warforged.
Bless still up, I believe.
Move and Dodge, perhaps? Whatever is best works for me!)

"Not much further now!" Ireena screams as she draws in her Hand Crossbow and shoots twice at the nearest swarm.
Attack: 11 Damage: 7
Attack: 9 Damage: 5
Forgot Bless: 1, 2
Both shots find their targets, shooting through the swarms of rats and dealing 11 pierce damage. Ireena turns and runs down the street towards the coffin, coming to a stop next to Dormark.
Ioben - Ireena dashes passed you, towards the coffin and the church. Will you follow her lead or make a brave stand against the incoming swarms? It is your turn.
Ioben moves quickly after the coffin. As he does so he sheathes his sword and draws out his bow. Turning to face the on coming rats he retreats as best he could staying just behind the coffin. “Almost there. I’ll take out what I can, just don’t stop.”
Nocking an arrow he lets loose at one of the rats on the left hand edge, trying to ensure that they stay central in the road, visible, grouped and easy to target. Shortbow: Attack: 12 Damage: 7
Ioben's shot hits the left side of the oncoming swam successfully skewering a number of the tiny rodents; the sound is overwhelming as they scramble over each other, squeaking and clawing as they advance. A number of rats lie dead, however the overall size of the swarm has barely diminished in size.
Sandu - you stand facing down the swarms advance. The rest of the group seem to be pulling back and moving towards the church. It is your turn.
Sandu felt his knees buckle at the overwhelming sight of a tidal wave of rats. He had put up with a lot over the past day and a half, admirably so if you were to ask him, but there was a point when enough was enough. Creepy whisperings and a rat-avalanche seemed like a fair point to call it quits. Time-honoured survival instinct finally clawed their way back to the foreground and trumped whatever bravado he had put up so far. So Sandu did what he had always done.
He ran.
Past the others and the coffin he ran, intent only on getting as far away as possible from the fresh hell of horrors. He barely heard Ireena shouting about a church when he passed her.
OOC: Dash action for extra movement to get as far as he can to the right of the map and the church.
((Running to the edge of the map / off the map will effectively count as 'escaping the combat', though the Church is not immediately there it will be counted as having escaped/out-ran the rat swarms. Baern and Dormark are shortly (at the very end of the round) going to escape with the coffin.))
Valerie - You notice the rest of the party opting to flee the impending combat with the swarms. Baern and Dormark are almost at the church, lugging the coffin between them. It falls to the rest of you to cover their escape. It is your turn.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ismark walks and stands next to Valerie. "I shall stand with you Valerie" he says stoically, holding his longsword up in front of himself, both hands firmly gripping the hilt.
Alder - Currently you stand with the corpses of the zombies at your feet. As you look down towards the encroaching swarm of rats you see the carnage wrought so far by the fighting. Pieces of bat bodies and wings litter the floor, three separate zombie bodies are strewn across the streets - their bodies hacked to pieces, the stench of blood and gore is immense. Behind you the party is attempting to flee the incoming wave of enemies, you watch as both Valerie and Ismark take up defensive positions. It is your turn.
