"Dormark!"cries the dwarf as he shuffles ahead after the others dispatch the original Felix. Stumbling a bit and then struggling to get into a position to swing his warhammer amidst Dormark's battle with the fiend in this attic space Baern suddenly feels an instinct to touch Dormark and sends a brief pulse of holy energy over his metal frame (casting Protection from Evil and Good. For a brief second Baern pauses to look at his own hand in amazement.
Dormark being stuck by the thing feels himself falling backward something drained from him and then feels something touch his back. Dormark feeling the presence regains his boldness, and releases his anger. The Warforge's red eyes begin there bright glow as he shouts, "I am Moradin's power!"
bonus spiritual weapon Attack: 23 Damage: 7
After striking out with the hammer Dormark with his mace swings it at the fiend seeking to do a double blow.
Baern - Your spell goes off without issue. As you move closer to the fiend you notice that much of the skin that was once covering it's frame has sloughed away, exacerbated by the attacks of your party. Dormark stands defiantly against the creature but does seem to have sustained damage to parts of his frame.
Dormark - Your Spiritual Weapon hammers down on the fiend's arm exposing more of it's true form beneath. Once more it fixes it's gaze on you, hatred and loathing in it's eyes, and it mutters a number of curse words in a dark language. As you attempt to strike out with your own weapon against the creature, it deftly avoids the attack. You can tell that though it has sustained some damage it is relatively 'fresh' and ready to fight on.
The fiend continues to chant in a foul language, it's arm stretching out towards the boxes near Galqarin. Fortunately, whatever spell it was attempting appears to have failed as the fiend curses and focuses on Dormark.
Once more it attempts to claw and bite at the Warforged;
Claw Attack: Attack: 7 Damage: 13
Bite Attack: Attack: 17 Damage: 12
Thankfully for Dormark, Baern's spell proves effective, both the claw and bite attacks fail to register; ineffectually scraping against his metal body. Felix lets out an frustrated scream.
Ioben - Behind you, your party appear to have dealt with the threat of the ghoul. In front of you, Dormark and Baern bravely fight toe-to-toe with the fiend. You note that, from the anguished sounds of the fiend, the battle, for the time being, appears to be turning in your favour. It is your turn to act.
With the creature collapsing under the attacks behind him, Ioben advances on the enemy facing Dormark. He quickly moves around Baern to stand on Dorrmark's left side. Disgusted by the appearance of the flesh stripping away from the fiend, he lashes out with his rapier. (Attack: 18 Damage: 4 - Sneak Attack: 7)
Ioben - Your rapier flashes out towards the fiend with a flourish and nicks the skin. Unfortunately it does not appear to do any damage to the fiend itself; any damage caused is superficial.
Valerie - At your feet lies the ghoulish, partially decomposed, body of the child once known as Felix. You cannot help but feel a pang of sadness at the young life so cruelly cut short by the monster standing in front of you. The all to familiar sounds of battle echo around the attic as your party members, Dormark, Ioben and Baern all engage the fiend in close quarters. It is your time to act, will you free the Orphanage of this threat? Or become another casualty?

Looking down at the ghoulish corpse, Valerie feels a spurts of sadness and anger. She turns to the fiend furiously. As she is about to charge toward the fiend, she shakes her head to suppress her feeling for she knows she cannot give in to the anger. It is a source of corruption.
She takes a deep breath and gets up to the fiend and make wide downward cut with her sword.
Valerie - You charge up to the fiend and cut down with your sword. Unfortunately, though the hit seems to have registered, it appears as though the fiend is able to easily it shrug off. You are able to determine that the fiend likely resists hits/strikes from non-magical weapons.
Galqarin - From your vantage point you are able to clearly see the fight as it unfolds in front of you. For the time being it appears that a stalemate of sorts is occurring - the fiend seems to still be fresh, sustaining flesh wounds at best, though the damage on the party, aside from Dormark, seems equally minimal.
Images from your childhood form in your mind's eye. This was your shelter, your refuge, now it has become your battleground. It falls on you to rid the Orphanage of this foul fiend, it is your turn.
Galqarin advances on their fiendish foe. Heeding Ioben's and Valeries cries of frustration and recalling that Sandu's bolt of energy seemed effective against this thing, he wonders if he might be able to grapple it and drag it so that Sandu can get a clear shot - however, to do so would be relying on Sandu to shoot true and strong, and render himself unable to attack with his raven-headed staff. Surely his fists must be able to inflict some harm, and if he is able to facilitate Sandu's magic it is worth the try? Barging between Ioben and Dormark, his long hairy arms stretch out to grab the fiend...
...before kicking and pummelling it with a flurry of blows. As he does so, he feels some of the ki, the life force that earlier allowed him to restore vitality to Valerie, afflict his foe - although he has little time to reflect on this phenomena.
Flurry of Blows #1: 17 damage 5 bludgeoning Flurry of Blows #2: 21 damage 4 bludgeoning Hand of Harm: (assuming one of the above hit) 7 necrotic
Galqarin - Your skilful blow's land on the fiend, easily bypassing it's defences. Unfortunately, similarly to Valerie, you notice that the fiend is resistant to your attacks (including the Hand of Harm) andfights on through the pain.
Reeling from your attacks, the fiend deftly moves away and slips your attempted grapple. It's back presses against the window as it steps backwards, the outside rain pattering against the glass.
Sandu - You stand back and watch as the rest of your party engage the maurezhi in close quarters; Dormark, Ioben, Valerie, and now Galqarin, all pile in and attempt to suppress the beast. Even though many of their attacks seem to be landing the fiend stands with no obvious wounds other than a few scratches. Surely, if this fight is to come to a positive conclusion, the party require your magical power. It is your turn.

Sandu watched the others swarm the fiend.
'Don't get too close!' He warned them with a loud shout. 'That thing's bite will turn you into-'He briefly glanced at Felix' remains, 'a ghoul!'
He tried to line up his shot when he noticed Galqarin rushing the thing and trying to grab and punch it with his bare - bear? - hands.
'WHAT DID I JUST SAY?!' yelled Sandu in equal parts anger and worry. He took the shot: 'Pleacã!'and hoped the others did not get in the way of his magical blast.
Sandu - You feel the energy blast forth from your outstretched hand, it's power fed by your raw emotion, and speed towards the maurezhi. The foul creature's eyes open wide and it fearfully attempts to avoid the oncoming spell. Unfortunately for the fiend, however, the blast strikes it full in the chest. The smell of burnt flesh fills the air as the skin the fiend was wearing is all but obliterated. The maurezhi lets out an awful, ear-piercing scream as it is struck, struggling to stay on it's feet.
After the carnage dies down a little, and the smoke rising from the cooked flesh clears, you see that the fiend clutches desperately at it's chest, clearly wounded. "Who are you?!"it screeches.

Baern's head darts back and forth as he watches Dormark, Galqarin, the window and then Sandu's powerful blast. Taking inspiration from the bugbear he charges ahead and tries to grapple the creature low, partially for Sandu's sake and partially to keep it from fleeing out the window. "I got it!" he announces hopefully as he tries to wrap his thick dwarven arms around its legs.
Baern - Your arms reach out and attempt to grasp around the wounded fiend's legs...
Opposed Grapple check: 23
Showing otherworldly dexterity, the ghoul manages to jump back and evade your grasp. Hocking up a mouthful of phlegm and blood, the maurezhi stands tauntingly, swaying on it's feet. "You got nothing - Dwarf," it says, the disdain clear in it's high-pitched voice.
Dormark - Still feeling the after affects of the bite, you look at the fiend standing unsteadily in front of you. To your left and right stand the adventurers you have been travelling with for the past number of days. Though you were brought together by happenstance, you find yourself currently fighting for a common goal; to free the Orphanage of a pressing threat, a threat which has already taken the lives of at least two children. It is your turn.
"We are your worst nightmare," responds Dormark to the fiend's question. Dormark's spiritual weapon swings at the creature, but instead of following it up with his mace. Dormark grabs Ioben's sword arm and than says, "Moradin bless his blade that it may strike true and cut down this evil that stands before us." Ioben the rapier seems to become lighter, the hilt fits perfectly in your hand, and any dullness to the blade goes away.
